Is Jon Bon Jovi dead? Confusion spreads after artist's death
Jon Bon Jovi is very much alive, despite a wave of confusion online sparked by the death of a notable artist linked to the band.
Fans were left stunned earlier this week when rumors swirled on social media falsely claiming the rock legend had died.
The speculation began after the confirmed passing of Ioannis Vasilopoulos, a renowned Greek-American artist and designer who created iconic album cover art for Bon Jovi and other legendary rock bands. Vasilopoulos died on April 7, 2025, at the age of 66.
According to his obituary, Ioannis was deeply influenced by American comic books, fantasy art, and rock music. His admiration for album cover artists like Roger Dean and Storm Thorgerson helped shape his career in the music industry. Beyond Bon Jovi, he collaborated with Deep Purple, the Allman Brothers Band, Lynyrd Skynyrd, and Michael Bolton, among others.
The mix-up occurred when reports about Vasilopoulos' passing were misinterpreted, leading some to believe Jon Bon Jovi had died. The rumors quickly gained traction across social media platforms, prompting confusion and concern from fans.

While fans expressed relief, the moment has also served to highlight the legacy of Ioannis Vasilopoulos and his lasting impact on the visual identity of rock music.

Eastwood slams 'phony' Austrian daily interview
An Austrian newspaper came under fire Tuesday after Hollywood star Clint Eastwood said an alleged interview with him published by the paper to mark his 95th birthday was "entirely phony". The row was sparked by a purported interview with the Oscar-winning actor and director carried by the German-language Kurier newspaper Friday. In the interview, which was picked up widely by American media over the weekend, Eastwood criticises a lack of fresh ideas in the current film industry as "we live in an era of remakes and franchises". "I long for the good old days when screenwriters wrote films like Casablanca in small bungalows on the studio lot. When everyone had a new idea," he was quoted as saying. "My philosophy is, do something new or stay at home." In a statement to Deadline magazine published Monday, Eastwood said "I thought I would set the record straight". "I can confirm I've turned 95. I can also confirm that I never gave an interview to an Austrian publication called Kurier, or any other writer in recent weeks, and that the interview is entirely phony," he added. On Tuesday, the Vienna-based Kurier's editorial team said its freelancer Elisabeth Sereda had compiled the interview by citing from "a total of 18" round table conversations with Eastwood. But since the article was published as an interview and not as a profile, the daily said it would cut ties with the author. "Even though no quotes have been fabricated, the interviews are documented and the allegations of falsification can be refuted, we will not be working with the author in the future because transparency and our strict editorial standards are paramount to us," Kurier said in a statement published on its website. The newspaper had recently published interviews by Sereda with celebrities such as Jude Law and Elton John. afp

Kesha faces backlash after provocative 'banana stunt' during Mighty Hoopla performance
Pop star Kesha stirred controversy over the weekend following a provocative performance during her headline set at London's Mighty Hoopla festival. The singer, 38, raised eyebrows while performing her new track Boy Crazy, during which she dropped to her knees and suggestively bit into a banana held at the waist of a male dancer — an act many online deemed 'vulgar' and attention-seeking. Wearing a red latex bodysuit and knee-high boots, Kesha mimicked an explicit act that drew immediate reactions from the audience. While the live crowd responded with laughter and cheers, a video of the stunt shared to Instagram quickly sparked criticism. Commenters labeled the display 'cringe' and 'embarrassing,' with some accusing the singer of resorting to shock value to stay relevant. 'Music is supposed to be art, not porn,' one viewer wrote, while another added, 'She's setting a very bad example.' -Instagram. Some compared the moment to other recent celebrity stunts, including Sydney Sweeney's controversial bath water merchandise, accusing artists of prioritising sensationalism over substance. Despite the online backlash, Kesha's performance was not without praise. Clips of her singing her hit ballad Praying were also shared on social media, with fans praising the emotional delivery. 'Incredible on so many levels,' one user wrote. 'You truly summed up the mood of the weekend.' The Mighty Hoopla appearance marked a mix of reactions for the American artist, with her bold stage antics drawing both applause and scorn — reflecting the divide over the role of theatrics and boundaries in modern pop performances.

Chris Hughes JoJo Siwa get intimate: Full saga explained with Kath Ebbs and Celebrity Big Brother fallout
JoJo Siwa's stint on Celebrity Big Brother 2025 proved dramatic not only for reality television but for her personal life, ending with a public breakup, a surge of speculation about a new romance, and renewed discussion about her sexual identity. The American performer and former Dance Moms star, 22, became unexpectedly close to British reality TV personality Chris Hughes, 32, during their time on the show. This relationship coincided with Siwa's split from her then-partner, Australian DJ and podcaster Kath Ebbs, 27. Hughes, best known for appearing in the third season of Love Island UK, had previously dated singer Jesy Nelson and participated in several reality formats. His connection with Siwa gained public attention after he defended her against homophobic remarks made by fellow housemate Mickey Rourke, who was later removed from the show following a verbal altercation. From that point on, Siwa and Hughes were seen frequently together in intimate, though non-explicit, moments. Siwa crawled into Hughes's bed, they spooned during nightly chats, and exchanged forehead kisses — all while cameras rolled. 'Why didn't you dream about me then?' Siwa quipped at one point, after Hughes confessed he missed her while sleeping. On screen, Siwa also made a significant personal revelation about her identity. Speaking to fellow housemate Danny Beard, she said, 'I've always told myself I'm a lesbian... I've realised: Oh, I'm not a lesbian, I'm queer.' Siwa added, 'F--- the L, I'm going to the Q.' Shortly after the show ended, Ebbs posted a lengthy Instagram Reel revealing that Siwa ended their relationship during the wrap party. 'I was in a complete state of shock,' Ebbs said, noting the relationship had been serious enough that Siwa had spoken about marriage. Ebbs said they felt 'betrayed' and described watching Siwa's interactions with Hughes on television as 'unsettling.' Responding on This Morning, Siwa and Hughes said their bond was intense but platonic. 'You can have a soulmate friendship,' Hughes said. Siwa confirmed the breakup but explained that it occurred after an unplanned conversation during the wrap party. 'I wasn't happy,' she admitted. Though neither party has officially confirmed a romantic relationship, speculation has intensified. On 1 June, Hughes shared Instagram photos of a 'spa and Dr Mario night' with Siwa's father, Tom Siwa. Meanwhile, Siwa's mother, Jessalynn, uploaded footage showing her daughter cuddling and kissing Hughes on the head during a family game night. Both Hughes and Siwa posted 'photo dumps' to social media showing them looking increasingly comfortable together, further fuelling dating rumours. JoJo Siwa's boyfriend, Chris Hughes, shared a new photo of them in bed. This comes after JoJo Siwa recently revealed that she no longer identifies as a lesbian 👀 — FearBuck (@FearedBuck) June 1, 2025 Siwa also marked the beginning of Pride Month with a heartfelt Instagram message. 'What I have learned over the last 22 years is that pride is all about love, acceptance, and celebration,' she wrote. While the exact nature of Siwa and Hughes's relationship remains unclear, their evolving bond — broadcast to millions — has prompted open discussions around friendship, identity, and the often-complicated overlap between public and private life in the reality television age.
