Jon Brady has been named news director of Sinclair-owned Washington, D.C. ABC affiliate WJLA-7News and WJLA-24/7 News. This is a move from within Sinclair for Brady, who was the news director of its West Palm Beach station, WPEC. He officially starts on Monday, April 21. "We are excited to have Jon lead our talented news team with his extensive broadcasting expertise to help grow our broadcasting, social and digital platforms. He will be an excellent asset to our newsroom to deliver high-quality, informative, and engaging news for our viewers and followers," said WJLA 7News vice president and general manager, Todd Bernstein. Brady has decades of broadcast managing experience in multiple markets including Los Angeles, San Diego, Seattle and Miami. He began his broadcast career at Fox News Service and WTTG in D.C. "I went to school in D.C. and started my news career here. WJLA is one of the great news operations in one of the best news towns in the world. I can't wait to get back, roll up my sleeves and get to work alongside this brilliant and dedicated team to hold our elected and appointed leaders accountable, solve problems and get answers to the questions that mean something to the people and families in the communities we serve across the DMV," Brady said.
