Jordan welcomes first group of Gazan children for treatment

The first group of sick children from Gaza arrived in Jordan today through Marka Airport as part of the "Jordanian Medical Corridor – Gaza" initiative, which aims to evacuate 2,000 children from Gaza for medical treatment in Jordanian hospitals. Accompanied by their family members, the children were transported through special arrangements made by the Jordanian authorities. This operation represents a key step in providing life-saving medical care to those affected by the ongoing conflict in Gaza. Upon arrival, the group was greeted by medical and government officials who ensured a smooth transition to designated hospitals across the country. The children will receive necessary care at both public and private hospitals, where specialized medical teams are ready to assist. Additionally, 26 children will arrive by land, and 4 children have already arrived by air. Minister of Government Communication Mohammad Al-Momani confirmed that the Kingdom has begun receiving children from Gaza who are suffering from various illnesses to receive treatment in Jordanian hospitals. He also mentioned that another group will arrive by land soon. The Minister reiterated Jordan's firm position, as declared by His Majesty the King in Washington, rejecting any attempts to displace Palestinians from the West Bank and Gaza Strip. He emphasized Jordan's commitment to protecting Palestinian rights and supporting their steadfastness. This evacuation marks the beginning of a phased process, with more groups expected in the coming days. Launched under royal directives, the initiative underscores Jordan's commitment to supporting Gaza and providing vital humanitarian aid during this critical time.

Jordan initiates medical evacuation of 2,000 sick children from Gaza

Following royal directives, Jordan has initiated the "Jordanian Medical Corridor – Gaza" initiative to evacuate 2,000 sick children from the Gaza Strip and transfer them to hospitals in Jordan for treatment. This initiative comes as part of Jordan's continued humanitarian efforts in response to the ongoing crisis in Gaza. It is being carried out in collaboration with the World Health Organization (WHO). In line with other aid efforts, such as the recent launch of the air bridge to deliver life-saving medical supplies to Gaza, the evacuation of the children will occur in phases. Patients and their family companions will be transported using ambulances and buses provided by the Jordanian Armed Forces. If necessary, military helicopters will be used for air evacuations based on the medical needs of each child. The children will receive specialized treatment in both public and private hospitals in Jordan, where medical teams will provide the necessary care. As part of the arrangement, each child will be allowed to be accompanied by up to two family members during their treatment. Once the children complete their medical treatment, they will be returned to Gaza.
