Archer Aviation (ACHR) Lands Fresh Buy Ratings and Price Targets Up to $18 after Earnings Call

Archer Aviation (ACHR) just got a fresh wave of love from Wall Street. Following its latest earnings call, four different firms reaffirmed their Buy ratings, each for their own reasons, but all pointing to the same bottom line: Archer looks well-positioned for growth. What the Street's Saying To kick things off, Benchmark's Josh Sullivan kept a $12.00 target and zeroed in on the company's progress toward FAA eVTOL certification. While the regulatory framework is still taking shape, events on the horizon, like the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics, and recent executive orders could help speed up the process. Archer, notably, is the exclusive air taxi provider for those Games, giving it a unique edge. On top of that, its push into defense tech via acquisitions opens up new revenue streams. With $1.7 billion in cash on hand, the company has the resources to chase these big goals. Over at Needham, Chris Pierce bumped the price target to $13.00, with a focus more on the road to commercialization. He noted that Archer not only stuck to its production guidance – something many doubted – but also moved its UAE program from the planning stage to actual flight testing. Manufacturing is ramping up at two sites, and a pilot program backed by the White House sets a clear path for U.S. testing by 2026. He also sees Archer's OEM model as a faster-growth play compared to peers focused solely on air taxi services. H.C. Wainwright's Amit Dayal came out the most bullish, slapping on that $18.00 target. He pointed out that even though Archer reported no revenue this quarter, it continues to clear major milestones: progress toward certification, prepping its first Launch Edition deliveries, and positioning itself for regulatory tailwinds from the Olympics. Dayal also flagged the company's defense strategy, including work on hybrid-electric aircraft, as another key growth lever. All told, analysts agree Archer has the funding, partnerships, and momentum to make its ambitious plans work. Still, they caution that execution risk is real given the aggressive timeline. Is Archer Aviation Stock a Good Buy? Despite the stock's speculative nature, Wall Street analysts remain optimistic about the company. Based on six recent ratings, Archer Aviation boasts a 'Moderate Buy' consensus with an average 12-month price target of $11.92. This implies a 20.83% upside from the current price.

8 shooting victims found "lying in a pool of blood" in South Africa bar

Police in South Africa launched a manhunt on Saturday for gunmen who killed eight customers at a tavern in the southeastern city of Durban. The attack late on Friday evening was the latest mass shooting in the crime-weary African nation that has one of the world's highest murder rates. The incident unfolded when an unknown number of gunmen entered the bar in Umlazi township and opened fire, police said. First responders found the eight dead people "lying in a pool of blood with multiple gunshot wounds", police said in a statement, adding that two of them were women. The victims were aged between 22 and 40 years old, police said. "Investigations into the possible motive of the killings are underway," they said. Shootings are common in South Africa, often fueled by gang violence and alcohol. Many people own licensed firearms for personal protection, yet there are many more illegal guns in circulation. There are around 75 murders a day in South Africa, according to police data. According to the most recent government crime statistics, 6,953 people were murdered in the country from October 2024 to December 2024. Sometimes entire families are targeted. Last September, gunmen shot dead seven members of the same family, including three children, in an execution-style killing in their home in a rural part of the country. In 2013, 10 members of the same family — including a 13-year-old — were killed in a mass shooting at their house in South Africa. Sometimes, more high-profile people are targeted. Last month, gunmen in South Africa abducted a U.S. missionary from his church as he was delivering a sermon. Pastor Josh Sullivan was later rescued during a shootout between police and his captors that left three suspects dead. In April 2024, soccer star Luke Fleurs was gunned down as he refilled his car at a gas station in South Africa. Six suspects were arrested. Archer Aviation Skyrockets 23%: The Electric Jetmaker Making Noise Without Making a Sound

Archer Aviation (NYSE:ACHR) just gave investors a reason to look up. The stock jumped 23% at 1.38pm, after the company reported a narrower-than-expected Q1 loss and laid out a series of updates that could reshape its trajectory. Archer posted a loss of 17 cents per share, beating Wall Street's 28-cent forecast. This isn't a one-off either. Archer has now beat earnings expectations in three of the past five quarters, according to GuruFocus data, pointing to what could be improving cost discipline and better operational execution. Warning! GuruFocus has detected 2 Warning Sign with ACHR. Operating expenses came in at $144 million, and with over $1 billion in cash on hand, Archer appears well-positioned to fund its path toward commercialization. The company's narrative is also gaining altitude. Archer expects to launch its Midnight eVTOL aircraft in the UAE this summer, with Abu Dhabi Aviation already on board. In the U.S., the FAA certification process is progressing, supported by what management described as favorable standard clarifications. Meanwhile, the company is turning heads in tech and defense circles: it's now partnering with Palantir Technologies to integrate AI into its aviation systems, and its joint program with defense firm Anduril to develop a military-grade eVTOL continues to advance. Benchmark analyst Josh Sullivan maintained his Buy rating and $12 price target, calling the Anduril opportunity one of the largest on Archer's radar. We're pushing the boundaries of what's possible, said CEO Adam Goldstein. Investors seem to agree. After a tough Q1 that saw the stock drop nearly 9%, Archer's sharp bounce reflects growing confidence in both its vision and execution. With a strengthened balance sheet, expanding strategic partnerships, and key commercial milestones now within reach, Archer may be entering a new phaseone that could bring it from pre-revenue concept to high-impact operator in next-gen aviation.
