Potential veteran CBs the Arizona Cardinals could target after Sean Murphy-Bunting injury
Potential veteran CBs the Arizona Cardinals could target after Sean Murphy-Bunting injury The Cardinals could sign an experienced cornerback, per ESPN's Josh Weinfuss. The Arizona Cardinals placed veteran cornerback Sean Murphy-Bunting on the non-football injury reserve on Thursday. According to ESPN's Josh Weinfuss, they could bring in a free agent cornerback with some experience. Who could that be? Available experienced free agent CBs Asante Samuel Jr.: The Cardinals brought him in for a visit early in free agency. Coming off a neck injury, perhaps now he will be the target. James Bradberry: He is now almost 32 years old but he had his best season with Jonathan Gannon while playing for the Philadelphia Eagles. Rasul Douglas: The Cardinals fumbled Douglas in 2021 when he was on the practice squad but signed with the Packers and went on to have a great season. He started 15 games for the Bills last season. C.J. Henderson: He spent last season on injured reserve with the Pittsburgh Steelers but has 32 starts in his career with the Jaguars and Panthers. He is a former 2020 first-round draft pick. Caleb Farley: He hasn't ever played more than nine games in a season but has been in the league since 2021, drafted in the first round by the Titans, where Cardinals GM Monti Ossenfort was before coming to the Cardinals. Arizona Cardinals announce new training facility after poor NFL team report card
Arizona Cardinals announce new training facility after poor NFL team report card The Cardinals revealed that there will be a new training facility for the players ready in 2027 The Arizona Cardinals responded to a very poor NFL team report card released on Wednesday, one in which they had the lowest grades in the entire NFL. The team released a statement, indicating plans to a new training facility. Our goal is to provide the best possible environment, facilities and resources and to give our team the greatest opportunity to succeed. We are working hard to achieve that. Last season, we shared with our players the plans for a new training facility at the existing Tempe location with a targeted completion date of 2027. We have hired Rossetti, a leading architecture firm that has worked with a number of NFL teams on their new facilities, and the design process is underway. We will continue to explore all the other ways - large and small - that we can get better in every single area of our operation. According to ESPN's Josh Weinfuss, it will cost about $100 million to build it. The plan is to build upon the team's current location in Tempe. The $100 million price tag is lower than some recently built facilities. According to Cards Wire's Howard Balzer, The Minnesota Vikings opened their current facility in 2018 at a cost of $115 million. The Miami Dolphins' facilities, opened in 2021, cost $135 million, while the new facilities opened last year for the Los Angeles Chargers cost $250 million. The statement indicates that the team advised the players of the plans, although it is not known whether they knew before or after they submitted their grades to the NFLPA. A new facility in 2027 likely would not have influenced current grades, other than perhaps the perception of owner Michael Bidwill and his commitment to investing in the players' work environments.
