Head-on crash kills one
A head-on crash Saturday killed a man in Young County, according to a Texas Department of Public Safety media release.
Joshua Logan Hoffman, 27, of Fort Worth died Saturday as a result of injuries sustained when his motorcycle collided head-on with a pickup, DPS officials said in a media release that evening.
About 12:55 p.m. Saturday, Hoffman was driving a 1996 Harley-Davidson motorcycle north on FM Road 209 about 1.5 miles east of Murray, DPS officials said.
Murray is about 20 miles west of Graham.
The motorcycle driver failed to negotiate a curve, causing the bike to go into the southbound lane and strike a 2019 Chevrolet Silverado head-on, officials said. Murray was pronounced dead on the scene, and the investigation into the crash is ongoing.
Two people in the pickup were injured in the collision, DPS officials said. The pickup driver, Alex Dean Cortez, 34, and a passenger, Shalynn Deann Cortez, 31, suffered non-incapacitating injuries and were transported to Graham Regional Medical Center. Both are from Saginaw.
Alex and Shaylnn Cortez were wearing seatbelts at the time of the crash, officials said. Hoffman was not wearing a helmet.
