Nvidia RTX PRO 6000D (B40) Blackwell GPUs reportedly set to supersede banned H20 accelerators in China

Following the ban of its Hopper H20 accelerations in China, Nvidia is reportedly planning on launching new Blackwell-based solutions at a lower price this year, per Reuters. With mass production anticipated by June, we can expect these solutions to be widely available in the Chinese market by Q3 or Q4. While technical details are still emerging, we can already discern some important details and specifications. Due to stringent U.S. export policies targeting China, the Hopper family has largely been a cat-and-mouse chase between U.S. regulators and Nvidia. Even before their official debut, the flagship H100 and H200 accelerators were already subject to export bans. Nvidia introduced the H800 to circumvent these regulations, which eventually faced a similar fate in October 2023. The cut-down H20 served as Nvidia's primary AI solution for the Chinese market in the interim until its recent ban under the current administration last month, which forced Nvidia to write off $5.5 billion in GPU supply. Reuters reports that Nvidia's follow-up to the H20 will be based on the Blackwell architecture, more specifically, the RTX Pro 6000D. Further clarification by tipster Jukanlosreve at X, citing a report from China's GF Securities, suggests the RTX Pro 6000D will be dubbed B40 (likely a successor to the Ada Lovelace L40). Reuters classifies this as a server-class GPU which uses traditional GDDR7 memory instead of HBM, and notably avoids the use of TSMC's CoWoS packaging technology, likely signaling at its monolithic nature. There are two possibilities based on the available data. This GPU can either be based on datacenter grade GB1XX Blackwell or consumer-grade GB2XX Blackwell silicon. The former is unlikely, as it only features HBM controllers at the silicon level. If the B40 utilizes GB2XX dies, it would be a derivative of the GB202 chip (found in the RTX 5090 and RTX Pro Blackwell 6000) and would lack NVLink support. The report estimates the price of the B40 between $6,500 and $8,000, which is less than the H20 and comparable to Nvidia's global RTX Pro 6000 workstation models. The HGX H20 could be configured in an 8-GPU configuration, but without NVLink, the B40 would likely face challenges in multi-GPU setups. Nvidia's latest RTX Pro Blackwell servers employ up to eight RTX Pro 6000 GPUs, connected via ConnectX-8 SuperNICs with integrated PCIe 6.0 switches, for GPU-to-GPU communication. This setup is likely what we'll see for the B40, with scaling beyond eight GPUs expected to be handled by Nvidia's Spectrum-X networking platform. Since details are scarce, this is just speculation on our part, so please don't read it as gospel. Galaxy S26 might be a worse phone in Europe—here's why
Samsung may be pausing its all-Snapdragon strategy. After using Qualcomm's Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 across the entire Galaxy S25 lineup, a new round of leaks suggests the upcoming Galaxy S26 may reintroduce Samsung's in-house Exynos chips—though only in certain markets. According to multiple sources in the leaker community on X (formerly Twitter), the Galaxy S26 will feature the Exynos 2600 in Europe, while other markets such as North America and Asia will get Qualcomm's Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 instead. The reported reason for this split is low initial production yields of Samsung's 2nm process, which is being used to manufacture the Exynos 2600. The users in Europe got the Exynos 2200 then, while the rest of the world got the arguably better Snapdragon 8 Gen 1. The thing is that it has never been fair when Samsung does this. Most of the time, the Exynos chipsets did not match those from Qualcomm in performance and power efficiency, which lead to a lot of criticism in 2022. Samsung then released the S23 series with a Snapdragon chip across all regions, followed with another split for the S24 series, and then again going back to the unified Snapdragon strategy with the S25 this year. The reports still don't say whether thi chip split will apply across the entire Galaxy S26 lineup, though. Earlier rumors suggested that only the Galaxy S26 and S26 Plus would get the Exynos 2600 in Europe, while the flagship S26 Ultra would have a Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 no matter the region. It's hard to tell for sure, but there are two potential reasons. It is still unclear why Samsung chooses to distribute the Exynos Galaxy S phones in Europe when it goes for the chip split strategy. It could be tied to supply constraints or internal cost structures. Of course, Samsung hasn't confirmed any of these rumors regarding the Exynos 2600 or its strategy for 2026, so take this information with a grain of salt. However, if history is any indication, it seems like a likely scenario for the Galaxy S26 series.

Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 7 could sport Exynos chips after all — here's what we know
Performance on Samsung flagships has been pretty incredible the last few years, especially since it started using custom Qualcomm chips. But that doesn't mean Exynos chips have gone for good, and the latest rumor claims they may make a comeback on the Galaxy Z Flip 7. Despite rumors that the phone would come with the custom Snapdragon 8 Elite for Galaxy, a new source claims that the Z Flip 7 will instead feature an Exynos 2500. This comes from leaker Jukanlosreve, who also claims that the Galaxy Z Flip FE will still come with a Qualcomm chip. This doesn't make a lot of sense. Why would the cheaper flip phone have a better chipset? Flip 7 will be powered by Exynos 2500, while the Flip 7 FE will not use an Exynos chip. 11, 2025 This isn't the first time we've heard rumors Samsung may try and bring the Exynos chips back to prominence — rather than limiting them to cheap and mid-range phones like the Galaxy A56. There was speculation that the Galaxy S25 would run on the Exynos 2500, and recently we've heard rumors that the Galaxy S26 series could run on Exynos 2600 chips in some regions. Personally, I'd rather Samsung not switch to Exynos chips in the flagships. Back in the days before Exynos took a back seat, the only Samsung phones to get Qualcomm chips were those sold in the U.S. Everyone else got Exynos, and it was universally agreed that the North American models were better performing phones. There are reasons why Samsung started offering Qualcomm chips globally, but it doesn't actually matter now. The fact the rest of the world has been given a taste of what Snapdragon chips have to offer means any attempt to switch back to Exynos isn't going to be popular. Though, admittedly, Exynos chips could have improved a lot in the past few years — especially with the change to a 3nm process. There's no way Samsung can show us what the chips are now capable of unless it actually puts them into flagship phones. Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 7 may feature a surprise hardware return after all
With the launch of any new Samsung phone comes the will-they-won't-they debate around Exynos hardware. The Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 7 – expected to launch in July 2025 – is no different, with new information suggesting that Samsung's next folding phone will be Exynos powered. The details come from a leaker who has given us useful information in the past. Jukanlosreve has taken to X (formerly Twitter) to say that the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 7 will use an Exynos chip, while the Flip 7 FE will not. Recommended Videos We first heard this claim in December 2024, when it was reported by The Elec that Samsung planned to use its latest hardware to power its compact folding phone. Since then it's emerged that Samsung had wanted to use Exynos 2500 for the Galaxy S25 family, but the yields weren't high enough and it never came to pass. It seems, then, that the Z Flip 7 is the next target for Samsung, so it will get to use the Exynos hardware in a significant device, rather than moving on to the next-generation Exynos hardware (Exynos 2600), which is expected to power the Galaxy S26 family. Samsung has used Qualcomm's Snapdragon hardware in its North American devices for the last decade and that's unlikely to change. If the company sticks to previous form, we'll see Exynos in Europe, while China and USA still get Snapdragon. As to the Galaxy Z Flip 7 FE, rumour suggests that this is going to be basically a Z Flip 5 with updated hardware, allowing Samsung to offer a cheaper folding phone to compete with the likes of the Moto Razr 2025. Previously it was reported that the Z Flip 7 FE would be powered by the Exynos 2400e, but now it seems that this model might be flipping back to an older Snapdragon chip, potentially the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3. The next-generation of Samsung's folding phones are expected to be announced at a bumper Galaxy Unpacked event, which rumor suggests will take place in New York in early July. That event should reveal the Galaxy Z Fold 7, the Galaxy Z Flip 7, the Galaxy Z Flip 7 FE; it's also expected that we'll see the Watch 8 and Watch 8 Classic, and there could be some more details on the Project Moohan headset and possibly Samsung's smart glasses. It could be a very busy summer for Samsung.
