KUALA LUMPUR, July 18 (Bernama) -- A lucky draw offering a motorcycle as the grand prize awaits participants of the Merdeka 6.8KM Fun Run & Walk, to be held at Dataran Tanjung Emas, Muar, Johor, on July 27. The event, held in conjunction with the launch of National Month and the Fly the Jalur Gemilang 2025 Campaign, aims to attract over 1,000 participants from all walks of life and is open to the public free of charge. Information Department (JaPen) director-general Julina Johan said the first 1,000 individuals who registered would be given exclusive T-shirts, while the first 1,000 participants to complete the 6.8-kilometre run would receive medals and qualify for the lucky draw. Julina said the programme was held in line with the aspirations of the Malaysia Sihat agenda and aimed to offer a unique experience by incorporating elements of nationalism along the running route. 'All participants will be given the Jalur Gemilang, and patriotic songs will be played throughout the 6.8-kilometre run. We have a brass band from Sekolah Tinggi Muar and Pentarama from JaPen,' she told Bernama. She said the event was aimed not only at encouraging a healthy lifestyle but also at serving as a platform to strengthen the spirit of unity among people of all races. 'I hope this programme will strengthen the spirit of unity and togetherness. Everyone is welcome to participate with the shared spirit of upholding the Jalur Gemilang and fostering patriotism and love for Malaysia,' she said. The Launch Ceremony of the National Month and Fly the Jalur Gemilang 2025 Campaign, to be officiated by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, will feature a variety of exciting programmes, including the Kita MADANI Carnival from July 25 to 27, which brings government services directly to the people. National Month 2025: People Invited To Fly The Jalur Gemilang With Respect

KUALA LUMPUR, July 17 (Bernama) -- The launch ceremony of National Month and the Fly the Jalur Gemilang Campaign 2025, which will be held at Dataran Tanjung Emas, Muar, Johor on July 27, aims to ignite the spirit of patriotism and foster the culture of hoisting the Jalur Gemilang nationwide. Information Department (JaPen) director-general Julina Johan said that the launch would be the main focus of this year's National Day and Malaysia Day celebrations, with an emphasis on appreciating peace and the sovereignty of the country through the symbol of the national flag. "We want the people not just to fly the Jalur Gemilang, but to do so in the right and respectful way. Ensure the flag is in good condition, not worn out or torn, and is displayed in the correct place and position," she said to Bernama after being a guest on the 'Apa Khabar Malaysia' programme on Bernama TV here today. Julina said this year's programme also highlights a people-centric approach and the implementation of various government initiatives for the well-being of the community, in line with the theme of the 2025 National Day and Malaysia Day celebrations, which is 'Malaysia MADANI: Rakyat Disantuni.' According to Julina, although the main event is scheduled for July 27, the programme's activities will start earlier on July 25 with the organisation of the Karnival Kita MADANI. "This carnival's main components involve service booths by government agencies such as the Road Transport Department (JPJ), free health and dental check-ups, as well as entrepreneurship booths that gather local entrepreneurs with various special Johor delicacies through food trucks," she said. On July 26, various family and community activities will also be organised, including colouring competitions as well as local arts and cultural performances. The highlight event on July 27 will begin with the Merdeka 6.8 KM Fun Run & Walk, which is open to everyone and has free registration. "Additionally, the Kembara Merdeka Jalur Gemilang Convoy programme involving water transport assets will also enliven this launch event," she said.
