Every celebrity mentioned during Sean ‘Diddy' Combs' sex-trafficking trial — and why

Several celebrities have already been mentioned during Sean 'Diddy' Combs' sex-trafficking trial since it started on May 5. Kanye West, Michael B. Jordan, Kid Cudi and Mike Myers were among the first celebrities spoken of when the trial kicked off in New York City's Manhattan federal court. While the group wasn't accused of any wrongdoing, they were among the names jurors were warned might be talked about. Combs' ex-girlfriend Cassie Ventura also took the stand, naming several celebrities. She recalled how the music mogul allegedly abused her during their on-again, off-again romance from 2007 to 2018. Below, read about every celebrity mentioned to date. West, mentioned during jury selection on May 5, has been in Combs' corner since the latter's September 2024 arrest. The 'Heartless' rapper, who hasn't been accused of wrongdoing, released a new track, featuring his daughter North West and Combs, titled 'Lonely Roads Still Go to Sunshine' on March 15. A few days later, he shared a prerecorded phone conversation with the Bad Boys Records founder via social media. At the time, Combs warned Kanye to 'be careful' of people trying to 'end' him, and thanked the 'Bound 2' crooner for looking after his seven children. Myers was also named during jury selection, though he's not accused of anything. The 'Saturday Night Live' alum's relationship with Combs is unknown. Michelle Williams was also name-dropped during jury selection. The Destiny's Child alum wasn't accused of any wrongdoing. Jordan hasn't been accused of any crimes, but was mentioned during jury selection. He famously dated Ventura in 2016 during the her break from Combs. When Ventura took the stand on May 13, she recalled her decade-long romance with Combs. The 'Me & U' singer alleged the 'Last Night' crooner would have her participate in sex and drug-filled parties called 'Freak-Offs,' starting when she was 22 years old. When asked how long the parties would last, the hitmaker responded, 'significant periods of time … the longest was four days.' Ventura claimed that the 'Freak-Offs' left her with 'a lot of stomach issues and gastrointestinal issues from taking drugs.' Ventura also alleged that Combs would often abuse her by hitting her on the head, knocking her down and stomping on her if she was down. She alleged her ex would tell her to 'fix [her] face or watch [her] mouth' before 'hitting' her face. An unedited video of Combs abusing Ventura at the InterContinental Hotel in Century City, Calif., in 2016, was released during the trial. When Ventura testified, she mentioned she got together with the 'I'll Be Missing You' rapper while he was with the late Kim Porter. The 'Me & U' singer alleged her sexual relationship with Combs started 'many years' before they took their romance public in 2007. 'He just didn't want it to look bad, but also knew it was because of his children and personal things like his family,' Ventura claimed, per JustJared. Porter and Combs, who shared three kids, started dating in the '90s and split in 2007. She died in 2018 from pneumonia. Drake was named in Ventura's testimony, claiming she was abused by Combs ahead of attending the Canadian rapper's 2013 OVO Festival in Toronto. Ventura still attended the festival and was seen with French Montana. She recalled having to style her hair in a particular way to hide an alleged injury. Ventura returned to testify on May 14 and mentioned Prince. The 'Is It You' singer recalled how she went to the 'Kiss' singer's private concert in the basement of his Los Angeles home. She recalled the 'once in a lifetime experience' and claimed she didn't tell Combs she would be attending. 'He would have definitely not let me go,' Ventura said. Ventura alleged to have seen Combs shortly after arriving. She claimed to have 'caught a glimpse of him and [she] ran out as fast as [she] could.' 'I knew he was angry at me,' she testified, alleging how he went to the hotel where she was staying and beat her. Ventura recalled meeting Kid Cudi — born Scott Mescudi — in December 2011. The 'Official Girl' singer claimed not to have told Combs about her romance with the 'Day 'n' Nite' singer, explaining they weren't in a good place. Combs, however, allegedly found out about Ventura's fling during a 'Freak-Off' when he went through her phone. He allegedly retaliated by grabbing a wine bottle opener and threatening her.

Embracing the theme 'In honour of Karl,' the Morbius star turned heads by showing up dressed as Karl Lagerfeld's iconic pet cat, Choupette, truly taking the tribute to a whole new level. A post shared by Getty Images Entertainment (@gettyentertainment) Jared Leto wasn't alone in channelling Choupette at the 2023 Met Gala. Doja Cat also embraced the feline theme for her debut appearance, donning realistic cat prosthetics, claw-like nails, and a dazzling diamond headpiece complete with cat ears. And in true Doja fashion, she stayed in character all night, answering red carpet questions with actual meows. A post shared by Just Jared (@justjared) Lil Nas X is known for going all out at the Met Gala, and 2023 was no exception. The rapper turned heads in a daring metallic Dior Men thong, his entire body covered in silver paint and adorned with pearls and crystals. He even added a subtle nod to Karl Lagerfeld's cat, Choupette, with shimmering silver whiskers completing the bold look. A post shared by Kim Kardashian (@kimkardashian) Kim Kardashian embraced full anonymity at the 2021 Met Gala, stepping onto the red carpet in a head-to-toe black Balenciaga haute couture gown. A post shared by Priyanka (@priyankachopra) Priyanka Chopra Jonas fully embraced the "Camp: Notes on Fashion" theme at the Met Gala, turning heads in a dramatic Dior Haute Couture ensemble. A post shared by Cardi B (@iamcardib) Cardi B stole the spotlight at the 2019 Met Gala in a jaw-dropping custom Thom Browne gown. Drenched in deep red, the dramatic outfit was adorned with 30,000 feathers and took a team of 35 people over 2,000 hours to craft. To top it off, the look featured 44-carat ruby nipples designed by Stefere Jewellery. At the 2019 Met Gala, Katy Perry embraced the "Camp: Notes on Fashion" theme in a dramatic Moschino chandelier outfit designed by Jeremy Scott. Perry even joked she wouldn't be sitting down and added to the moment by singing a snippet of Sia's 'Chandelier' on the red carpet. A post shared by National Dress Day (@nationaldressday) Rihanna's Met Gala outfits are always unforgettable, and her 2023 look was no exception. While pregnant, she wowed in a bold Valentino ensemble that made her resemble an enormous rosebush. The outfit featured a massive train, yet somehow still managed to look surprisingly comfy. A post shared by Christopher Paul Horne (@itschristopherhorne) Janelle Monáe definitely brings the "wacky" factor to every red carpet, and the Met Gala 2023 was no different. She rocked a bold Thom Browne black-and-white coat that was already making a statement, but the real surprise came halfway up the stairs when she removed the coat to reveal a sheer pannier dress and bikini underneath. A post shared by Getty Images Entertainment (@gettyentertainment) Frank Ocean's Met Gala moment was impossible to forget, thanks to him bringing a green robot baby as his plus-one, seemingly to promote his luxury brand, Homer. The baby was eerily lifelike, with its head and arms moving, giving it an uncanny valley vibe that was both mesmerising and a bit unsettling. The fact that it left everyone staring? Definitely part of the plan.

Lego just dropped new Fortnite sets, and this one will let you build the best event of Chapter 1 at home

Lego has four new Fortnite sets coming soon The Mecha Team Leader set lands on August 1 There are three smaller Fortnite sets dropping on June 1 Lego is continuing its gaming collabs with four brand-new Fortnite sets – with the clear best of the bunch being a 2,503-piece recreation of the Mecha Team Leader. Long-time Fortnite fans will recognise this Power Rangers Megazord-esque titan from arguably the best live event of Chapter 1, The Final Showdown, which saw the Mecha Team leader face off against the monster of Polar Peak. And now you can recreate that clash yourself in real life (though you'll need to provide your own stand-in for the thawed monster). The set does sit on the pricier end of things – it'll cost $249.99 / £209.99 from when it releases on August 1, 2025 – but once complete, the finished design will stand just over 45cm / 17.5-inches tall. (Image credit: Future / Lego / Fortnite) You'll also get a minifigure version of the Mecha Team Leader (complete with a sign showing support for its mech), as well as digital bonus items: 2 Mecha Team Leader and 2 Mecha Team Shadow Outfits, which are redeemable in Fortnite and Lego Fortnite . Just remember to be a bit more careful than its monstrous foe when removing your creation's left arm if you try to recreate the robot's iconic No Sweat emote. Where we buildin' boys? (Image credit: Lego / Epic Games) If you're after sets that are a little cheaper – and releasing sooner – the other three have you covered. You'll also get a Sparkplug minifigure alongside a redeemable code for a Sparkplug Outfit for the Lego Fortnite game. Sign up for breaking news, reviews, opinion, top tech deals, and more. Next is the Durrr Burger Restaurant – a familiar in-game location that you can build IRL with this 546-piece set for $64.99 / £54.99. Alongside the restaurant's storefront and some decoration, you'll get a few minifigs, including the Beach Bomber and Beef Boss, as well as a redeemable code to get a bonus Beef Boss Outfit in Lego Fortnite . (Image credit: Lego / Epic Games) Lastly, you've got a set that might appeal to non-Fontite players in the $109.99 / £89.99, 1,084-piece Klombo set. I say that it might have more general appeal because Klombo's design is that of a terrifying yet cute dinosaur-like beast that your minifigures can ride around. You'll also get the awesome-looking Oro minifigure for a duo that would be right at home in a bunch of different non- Fortnite Lego worlds. Though Fortnite fans will still appreciate this build. Not only for the Klombo and Oro figures, but also the Island Adventure Peely minifig that they can also unlock in the Lego Fortnite game using a code. All three of these sets are available on starting June 1 and could make the perfect gift for any Fortnite and LEGO fans you know. You might also like

Reese Witherspoon ‘reveals' name of A-list actor who ‘doesn't like' her

Reese Witherspoon has appeared to accidentally reveal the name of an A-list actor 'doesn't like' her after a speech-gone-wrong. On Thursday (20 January), the Legally Blonde and Big Little Lies star said that a female Hollywood star, whose name she didn't reveal, was left unimpressed after Witherspoon 'roasted' her at a 'classy' awards show in the UK. 'It was pretty bad,' Witherspoon, who stars in new comedy You're Cordially Invited, with Will Ferrell, told PEOPLE. 'Yeah, not even kidding – she doesn't talk to me anymore.' According to the actor, she is still 'haunted' and 'embarrassed' by the reaction to her speech, which she wrongly assumed should be a roast sending up the unnamed star, which many are deducing to be Kate Winslet. 'So this friend of mine – who I didn't really know that well, but she was a very serious, proper actress – she asked me to give her an award,' Witherspoon said. 'But I had never been to this award ceremony, so I thought it was like a roast. So I got up and I roasted her. The tone was British and elegant and classy, and I was like, 'Remember the time we got laser hair removal?!'' Internet sleuths jumped to action and quickly surmised that Witherspoon might be talking about Titanic star Winslet. Their evidence derives from the fact that Witherspoon poked fun at the British actor while presenting her with an award at the Bafta/LA Cunard Britannia Awards – and cracked a joke about laser hair removal. A Witherspoon fan site, as flagged by JustJared, states that the actor said in November 2027: 'I always wanted to be a European movie star, wear giant sunglasses, elaborate neck scarves, smoke hand-rolled cigarettes, and have savoir faire and gravitas. 'Imagine my good fortune when Kate Winslet moved into my neighbourhood, rang my door bell and said, 'Darling, Sam [Mendes, Winslet's ex] is off shooting, and I believe our children are the same age. Could they possibly have a play date and oh, by the way, it's almost nine o'clock and I've had nothing to do drink. So you have any wine?'' She then revealed that the pair once considered getting laser hair removal and also hinted at a funny escapade in their underwear, telling the crowd she can't delve into the stories as 'they're all too bawdy or tawdry or drunken to tell'. Witherspoon said in the new interview: 'I thought it was so funny and it was just, I had the wrong audience.' Both Witherspoon and Winslet appeared on stage together at the Oscars in 2016 to present two Best Picture nominees, Bridge of Spies and Spotlight. The pair didn't speak to one another during their segment. The actor's new film, You're Cordially Invited, is out now.
