New Chevy Bolt Spy Photos Suggest the Revived EV Barely Changed

The second-generation Chevy Bolt EV was spotted testing with camouflaged front and rear bumpers ahead of its return to production later this year. This is the first we've seen of the Bolt since Chevy confirmed the model would return in 2025; visually, the design looks awfully familiar. The electric hatchback has a new grille, a fresh set of taillights, and the headlights appear to adopt Chevy's signature EV LED light strip Despite solid sales figures in 2022 and 2023, Chevrolet decided to kill the Bolt EV in 2023—a move that was quickly followed by General Motors CEO Mary Barra announcing that the nameplate would be revived in 2025. A long period of radio silence followed, with GM keeping mum, and we've seen neither hide nor hair of the EV until recently. First, GM confirmed the Bolt would return for 2027, and more recently, our spy photographer caught sight of the second-generation Bolt testing with camouflaged front and rear bumpers. KGP Photography | Car and Driver While we weren't expecting Chevy to reinvent the wheel with the relaunched Bolt, the updates look more like a modest facelift than a new generation. The front of the car is completely covered in camouflage, but we see enough of the headlights to suggest the Bolt is adopting the same LED light strip as Chevy's other electric models. The front grille also looks to have a more prominent role on the second generation. The lower front bumper also appears to have a new set of horizontal slats. KGP Photography | Car and Driver The back of the Bolt is similarly updated with a new split-taillight design and a new center-mounted brake light mounted in the hatchback's spoiler. Speaking of, the hatch itself appears to take on a new shape and looks more squared-off than the first generation. That said, it's likely the new Bolt is hiding a number of changes under its sheetmetal. For starters, the updated model is expected to switch to a lithium-iron-phosphate (LFP) battery pack in an attempt to bring costs down. The old version used a 63-kWh liquid-cooled lithium-ion pack that we managed to get 220 miles out of during our 75-mph real-world highway range test. The biggest downside to the old unit was a peak DC fast-charge rate of 55 kW. Estimates for the updated model put the Bolt's range closer to 300 miles with plans for improved DC fast-charging. KGP Photography | Car and Driver While Chevy hasn't announced any set-in-stone dates, the new Bolt should enter production later this year as a 2027 model, with the on-sale date expected to land in early to mid-2026. 2026 Chevy Bolt EV: Everything We Know

Increased range and Super Cruise tech The 2026 Bolt EV will use a version of the Ultium battery technology found in GM's other electric vehicles, providing faster charging speeds and more range than the previous model. GM is reportedly using less expensive lithium-ion phosphate batteries, which will reduce cost and development time, but could come at the expense of some range. Even so, a range of more than 300 miles should be in the cards, which will keep the Bolt EV competitive. Previously, Chevy offered the Bolt EV alongside a slightly larger Bolt EUV. The key difference between the two was that the EUV offered GM's Super Cruise hands-free highway driving technology. But we're told this tech will make its way to the new Bolt EV, enhancing its appeal. The 2026 Chevy Bolt is scheduled to enter production in late 2025 and go on sale in early to mid-2026. Lexus LFA Successor Makes First Official Outing on Goodwood Hill: Video

The upcoming Lexus LFA successor, which will possibly be called the LFR, made its first official public appearance this week. The new supercar can be seen—and heard—making a parade lap up the hill at the Goodwood Festival of Speed. After being spotted testing at several tracks around the world, Lexus's GT3 race car twin made the parade lap alongside the road-bound model. Three years ago, Toyota introduced the world to its GR GT3 race car concept. In the years since, we've seen that original concept develop into what appears to be a Lexus LFA successor and a racing version that looks poised to replace the aging RC F GT3 car. We've caught spy shots of the pair testing around the world. Last month, we even had one Car and Driver reader send in some shots of the road car testing in Southern California. Now, the pair has made their first official public appearance. Joined by a heavily camouflaged version of the race car, the upcoming supercar made a parade run up the hill at this week's Goodwood Festival of Speed. While some manufacturers attack Lord March's driveway with a vengeance, the Lexus twins maintained a more leisurely pace. KGP Photography | Car and Driver There still hasn't been any official confirmation from Toyota or Lexus about what the new supercar is hiding under its hood, but the exhaust heard in the video seems to confirm the rumors of a hybrid twin-turbo V-8. As we've seen in previous spy shots (pictured above), the road car was equipped with a prominent duckbill rear spoiler, while the GT3 car sported a kitchen-counter-sized wing. Given that the supercar has been testing on public roads, we think it's a safe assumption that the car will debut as a 2027 model. That theory is supported by the fact that the Lexus RC F is homologated for GT3 racing through the 2026 season. If Lexus wants to make the transition seamlessly, it'll need to launch the car sometime next year. 2026 Kia Telluride Looks Chiseled in New Spy Photos

We spotted a fleet of next-generation Kia Tellurides while they were out conducting towing tests. Seen without bulky camouflage, the 2026 Telluride appears considerably more angular than the current model and sports a much more upright look. The spy photos show two distinct trims, including what looks to be the new X-Pro model. While having good looks wasn't the leading factor in landing the Kia Telluride on our 10Best list for six consecutive years, it certainly didn't hurt the three-row mid-size SUV's case. Now approaching its seventh model year, the Telluride is gearing up for a redesign, and a fleet of test models just gave us our best look yet at the SUV's new shape. KGP Photography | Car and Driver Even covered in a camouflage wrap, the redesigned Telluride is clearly more angular and upright than the current generation. The side profile takes on a similar silhouette to the Rolls-Royce Cullinan, albeit with a shorter hood and a less aggressive taper for the rear glass. This content is imported from Third party. You may be able to find the same content in another format, or you may be able to find more information, at their web site. KGP Photography | Car and Driver We spotted two distinct trims testing, including what looks to be the next version of the Telluride X-Pro. That model is wearing chunkier tires and comes with raised roof rails. The front bumpers are different, too, with the more rugged model sporting a chunky lattice pattern. The other model's grille wears simple vertical strakes. Both trims take on a more squared-off look, but the off-road model diverges by rocking recovery hooks. KGP Photography | Car and Driver We also got our first look at some of the next-gen Telluride's more intricate details, with the gas-powered SUV adopting the electric EV9 SUV's flush door handles. The headlights and taillights are also new and take on a more modern look that, again, resembles the EV9. Both the headlights and taillights now incorporate vertical LED elements that further accentuate the redesigned SUV's upright design. KGP Photography | Car and Driver Assuming the Telluride follows in lockstep with the new Hyundai Palisade, its platform mate, the Kia will gain a slightly longer wheelbase and slightly larger exterior dimensions. Given how close to production the test models look, we don't expect to wait long for the full reveal. Undisguised Corvette 'Zora' Looks Just Like a ZR1, Except For One Dead Giveaway

Chevy is on a roll with the Corvette right now. The company just launched the ZR1, a 1,064-horsepower fire-breather with more performance than cars triple the price. But that car likely won't be the very top of the Corvette range, at least judging by these spy shots out of Germany. Our spy photographers caught what they believe to be the upcoming Corvette "Zora" lapping the Nürburgring during a recent test session. The long-rumored trim, set to sit above the already-capable ZR1, will likely take the platform to its ultimate conclusion in terms of performance. The Ultimate Corvette Photo by: KGP Photography Photo by: KGP Photography Photo by: KGP Photography What does that mean, exactly? Years of rumors have pointed to the Zora as combining the ZR1's 5.5-liter, 1,064-hp twin-turbo V-8 with the electric motor from the Corvette E-Ray , for an all-wheel drive, mid-engine weapon with hypercar-rivaling performance. In the E-Ray, that e-motor makes 160 hp. So combined, we're looking at at least 1,224 horses. That's just an educated guess right now, though. It could make even more. The extra power and AWD traction should make for even more impressive 0-60 times and lateral performance. Going by these photos, it seems the Zora will likely share most of its aero-laden bodywork with the ZR1. With the optional aero package, which adds a series of carbon-fiber wings, the ZR1 can produce over 1,200 pounds of downforce at top speed. How Do You Know These Are Zoras? Photo by: KGP Photography The differences are subtle, but obvious if you know where to look. The biggest giveaway is the yellow stickers on the rear windows—mandatory for hybridized cars testing on the Nürburgring. That raises some questions, seeing as how the ZR1 isn't a hybrid. Look even closer, and there are further hints that these cars are more than just ZR1s. As our spy photographers point out, these prototypes are running an extra vertically slotted radiator, seen mounted behind the driver-side grille in the bumper. That radiator isn't present on the production ZR1, and on the E-Ray, it's used to cool the electric motor. Why would it be here, except to do the same? When Will Chevy Reveal the Zora, and How Much Will It Cost? Photo by: KGP Photography Photo by: KGP Photography Photo by: KGP Photography Photo by: KGP Photography Photo by: KGP Photography Chevrolet has been tight-lipped on the Zora's existence, meaning no official reveal date has been set. But seeing as how these near-production-ready prototypes are out and about, we can't imagine we'll have to wait much longer to see a full unveiling. Pricing for the Corvette Zora is, unsurprisingly, a mystery at this time. But we can make an educated guess based on what we already know. The ZR1 starts at $174,995 including destination. Add in $38,600—the difference between a Corvette Stingray and an E-Ray—and you get $213,595. If that sounds like a lot of money for a Corvette, well, it is. But the Zora will likely have the performance to match cars priced over $1 million, making it a relative bargain in the world of hypercars. That's the Corvette's entire ethos, after all.
