Next-Gen Shelby GT500 Looks Menacing in New Spy Shots
Since the debut of the S650 Mustang in 2023, we've been waiting for a hardcore Shelby model. Rumors of the high-performance muscle car have been circulating for years, but nothing's been made official. That'll likely change soon, judging by these spy photos of a seemingly complete Shelby GT500 mule captured driving around Michigan. Our spy photographer managed to snag some detailed photos of this camouflaged GT500 prototype stalking around on the street ahead of a reveal likely to take place later this year. The front fascia wears a thick layer of netting and tarp to conceal changes to the front end, though we can see wider openings for the upper and lower grilles, as well as some outer bulges on the hood. Photo by: KGP Photography Photo by: KGP Photography Photo by: KGP Photography The rear end is more of the same, with a makeshift blanket covering the bumper, and polka-dot camouflage on the fenders and trunk lid. The thin quad-exhaust pipes are clearly not production ready, while the wing looks to be lifted straight from the lesser Mustang GT . The wheels and tires are the most fascinating part of this tester. Look closely, and you'll see the tires measure 305/30ZR20 up front and 315/30ZR20 in the rear—coincidentally, these are the same exact sizes found on the last-generation GT500. The tires themselves are Pirelli P Zero Rs with "Prototype Use Only" text on the sidewalls. Unlike the last GT500 prototype we saw, this one isn't using carbon fiber wheels, but more traditional alloys. In all likelihood, this wheel and tire setup will likely be the base offering for the upcoming GT500, with a carbon fiber wheel and stickier tire offered as the sportier option. Photo by: KGP Photography There's no official word on what sort of engine will power the next GT500, but we have a pretty good idea of what to expect, thanks to a leaked union memo from the Dearborn engine plant in Michigan. The document, whose contents were confirmed by the Detroit Free Press through internal sources, showed plans to produce an engine nicknamed "Legend." The plant currently builds the supercharged 5.2-liter V-8 found in the Raptor R. That same motor powered the last GT500 , making 760 horsepower and 625 pound-feet of torque. So it makes sense for the factory to supply the next car's engine, too. Power is still a question mark, though we wouldn't be surprised to see the next GT500 make over 800 hp, possibly matching the track-ready Mustang GTD . Judging by how ready-for-production this prototype looks, we probably won't have to wait much longer to find out. Next-Gen Shelby GT500 Looks Absolutely Menacing in New Spy Shots

Here's the 2026 Ford F-150 Lobo Totally Undisguised
Ford revived the street truck with the sporty Maverick Lobo , a little pickup with running gear from the old Focus ST and RS. Now, it seems to be giving the Lobo treatment to the mighty F-150. Our spy photographer captured the new F-150 Lobo in its full, undisguised glory. From the photos, we can see that the F-150 Lobo gets a unique front fascia with a lower air dam, side skirts, and black 22-inch wheels on street-oriented Bridgestone Alenza all-season tires. There's also an "F-150 Lobo" badge in the little trim piece on the front fenders. Photo by: KGP Photography Photo by: KGP Photography Photo by: KGP Photography Ford Authority reported in 2023 that Ford filed a trademark for the "F-150 Lobo" name , which was before even the Maverick Lobo was confirmed. But other than some photos of camouflaged F-150 Lobos running around, the rumormill on this sport truck has been fairly quiet. So, we don't know what to expect exactly. Obviously, Ford has a couple of hot-rod engines to chose from—most obvious are the F-150 Raptor's 450-horsepower twin-turbo V-6. There's also the Raptor R's 720-hp supercharged V-8. But, we don't know how extensive Ford's planned changes for the F-150 Lobo are. The Raptor comes from Ford Performance, and it's a comprehensive work of the standard truck, with the explicit aim of increasing dune-bashing capability. We don't know if Ford will go so far with the F-150 Lobo. Ford has some history with sporty, street-oriented F-150s. The SVT Lightning of 1993-1995 and 1999-2004 both got power and handling upgrades, along with sporty exterior trim. The second Lightning was even supercharged. Ford obviously revived the "Lightning" name for its electric F-150, hence why it's using Lobo here. But spiritually, this will very much be a successor to the old SVT Lightning models. Photo by: KGP Photography Also of note, Ford's F-150 Lobo prototypes are all double cabs, with four full-size doors. The SVT Lightning was always a single-cab, and while Ford still offers a single-cab F-150, two-door full-size pickups are far less popular than they used to be. Given that the F-150 Lobo looks production ready, we'll hopefully see it soon in a more official capacity. As SVT Lightning fans, we can't wait to learn what Ford has in store. 2026 Genesis GV90 Electric Flagship SUV Looks Massive in Spy Photos
Genesis is preparing a flagship electric SUV, and the 2026 GV90 SUV has been spotted testing on the Nürburgring race track in Germany. The GV90 was previewed by the Neolun concept last year and retains the same colossal footprint, twin-line LED headlights, and chunky front end. The GV90 appears to ride on air suspension with rear-wheel steering and, at least on this example, features a two-seat second row instead of a rear bench. Genesis solidified rumors that it is planning a large flagship SUV when it unveiled the decadent Neolun concept ahead of last year's New York auto show. Expected to be called the GV90 when it reaches production, we now have proof that the gigantic electric SUV is nearing its debut. Our spy photographer snapped the GV90 testing on the Nürburgring, revealing key design elements from the minivan-like silhouette to flashy chrome wheels. KGP Photography | Car and Driver Sometimes it can be hard to get a sense of a vehicle's true size from spy photos, especially when no other cars are nearby for reference. But the GV90 looks truly massive in these new photos, and the way it sits on its chrome 22-inch wheels makes it appear heavy and solid. Like the Neolun concept, the production model has an upright front end and a long, mostly flat roofline. While the Neolun concept removed the B-pillars and featured flashy coach-style doors for easy entry to the purple-leather-equipped cabin, the production GV90 takes a more practical approach with B-pillars and traditional doors. The GV90 will, of course, wear the Genesis brand's twin-line LED lighting motif up front, although the look isn't as simplified as the concept's front lights, and it's unclear if the lights will stretch across the front end to form a triangular grille shape like on the Neolun. The lower bumper appears to remain faithful to the concept with an upside-down U-shaped ridge and venting with an intricate latticework. Full-width taillights also appear to carry over from the concept, sporting the same twin-line LED look. KGP Photography | Car and Driver The GV90 is expected to be sold exclusively with an electric powertrain, and rumors suggest that it will ride on a new platform called "eM" that features an 800-volt electrical architecture. In 2022, parent company Hyundai said the eM platform would bring a 50 percent improvement in driving range versus its current EVs and also said the platform would support Level 3 and higher autonomous driving technology. While earlier spy photos of the GV90 testing in a wintry region showed it wearing 285/45R-22 Michelin X-Ice Snow SUV tires, the GV90 is fitted here with Pirelli P Zero E tires of the same size. Close-up photos also reveal that the GV90 is riding on air suspension and features rear-wheel steering, neither of which is a surprise for a vehicle in this class. KGP Photography | Car and Driver Our spy photographer also peeked inside, revealing a two-seat layout in the second row with the rear passengers separated by a center console with cupholders, a wireless phone charger, and a sizable screen. We wouldn't be surprised if this represents a sort of "executive" package, and we think a full rear bench could be available in the United States. Buttons on the pillar behind the second-row seats imply the presence of a third row. Unfortunately, it seems like the snazzy quilted purple leather of the Neolun concept hasn't made it to production. The GV90 will likely compete with the Mercedes-Benz EQS SUV and Cadillac Escalade iQ as well as pricier versions of the Lucid Gravity. We expect the GV90 to start at around $100,000, with production likely to take place in South Korea. A full reveal should come later this year.
