Mike Vrabel says the one thing Patriots fans have waited to hear
New England Patriots coach Mike Vrabel spoke about the immediate goals for the team when fielding media questions at the NFL Scouting Combine on Tuesday. The team preached patience when Jerod Mayo took over as head coach last season. Some expected Vrabel to say the same thing when broaching the subject of how fast he expects things to turn around for the team. The Patriots have missed the playoffs in the last three seasons. They've finished with a combined 8-26 record in the previous two years. It has been a nightmare run with multiple quarterback changes and back-to-back top-four draft selections. Vrabel wouldn't commit to a timetable, but he also said fans shouldn't have to wait very long to see things finally start to turn around. 'We have to improve. That's the goal,' said Vrabel, via KPRC 2 Houston's Aaron Wilson. 'We're not going to put a timetable on anything. We all want to win. That's why I got hired. They shouldn't have to wait very long but we have to understand we're not going to fix every issue on first day of free agency or the first day of the draft' #Patriots coach Mike Vrabel 'We have to improve. It's another thing to take action. The Patriots' organization has plenty of salary cap space and a promising young quarterback in Drake Maye. Now more than ever, they will have the ability to build a strong foundation.
