Waqaf An-Nur charity golf delivers RM588k lifeline to dialysis patients

KUALA LUMPUR: The Waqaf An-Nur Clinic (KWAN) 2025 charity golf tournament raised RM588,877 to fund dialysis treatment for underprivileged patients under the KWAN Fund initiative. Organised in celebration of Waqaf An-Nur Corporation Bhd's 25th anniversary, the event strategically gathered support for over 20 Waqaf An-Nur clinics operating nationwide. KWAN Charity Golf committee chairman, Datuk Mohamad Farid Salim, highlighted that the tournament became a platform to strengthen ties between sponsors, donors, and a community deeply invested in the welfare of the ummah. "At the heart of this effort is gratitude, for the support, time, and presence of everyone, including our generous sponsors," Farid said at the closing ceremony held recently. Tournament prizes were contributed entirely by Waqaf An-Nur to honour the spirit and generosity of its participants. "Regardless of amount, every contribution stems from the same spirit, to support those in need," he added. KPJ Healthcare Bhd led with RM200,000, followed by Johor Corporation and Larkin Property Sentral Bhd, each contributing RM50,000. More than 10 other companies participated as well. Beyond fundraising, Farid noted the tournament's alignment with sustainability through Waqaf An-Nur's commitment to environmental, social, and governance (ESG) principles, especially community inclusivity. "This reflects our dedication to expand collaboration across corporate, government, and society, reinforcing the role of waqf as a pillar of ummah welfare," he said. Proceeds will fully support dialysis treatments for asnaf and underserved patients. Waqaf An-Nur launched a mobile clinic at Sultanah Aminah Hospital (HSA) in Johor Baru. Operating 8pm to midnight, Wednesday to Sunday, the clinic addresses Level 5 cases with basic medication and medical leave certificates—alleviating congestion in the Emergency and Trauma Department. Waqaf An-Nur also supports locum services in the Green Zone at HSA and Sultan Ismail Hospital (HSI), working with the Johor government, KPJ, and the State Health Department. The Mobile Clinic was officially launched by Johor Menteri Besar Datuk Onn Hafiz Ghazi on June 17. Appointed as a Special Nazir by the Johor Islamic Religious Council (MAINJ), Waqaf An-Nur encourages waqf participation through programmes such as Hibah Lil Waqaf and investments in the PMB An-Nur Waqf Income Fund.

KPJ Healthcare Launches KWAN Mobile Clinic At HSAJB To Support Public Healthcare In Johor

GENERAL KUALA LUMPUR, June 20 (Bernama) -- KPJ Healthcare Berhad (KPJ Healthcare) has launched the operations of its Klinik Waqaf An-Nur (KWAN) Mobile Clinic at Hospital Sultanah Aminah Johor Bahru (HSAJB), Johor, to improve access to affordable care and support emergency services for the public. In a statement today, it said the mobile clinic provides after-hours treatment for non-critical cases and is aimed at reducing congestion at the hospital's Emergency and Trauma Department. The mobile clinic operates from 8 pm to 12 midnight, offering medical consultations, basic medications and medical certificates at subsidised rates equivalent to those at government hospitals and also supported by KPJ's digital Clinic Management System ('CMS'), which ensures safe, efficient and secure patient management. KPJ Healthcare President and Managing Director Chin Keat Chyuan said by expanding access to care after hours, they are helping to ease congestion at HSAJB while serving the community more effectively. 'This is also the first time a KWAN Mobile Clinic is operating within a public hospital setting in Johor, which reflects the strength of our collaboration with government partners. It is part of our commitment under the KPJ Health System to deliver more connected, inclusive care,' he said. The launch of KWAN Mobile Clinic was officiated by the Johor Menteri Besar Datuk Onn Hafiz Ghazi and attended by Johor State Executive Councillor for Health and Enviroment Ling Tian Soon, Johor State Health Department (JKNJ) Director Dr Mohtar Pungut @ Ahmad, HSAJB Director Dr Mohamad Nizam Subahir, as well as senior representatives from KPJ Healthcare and Waqaf An-Nur Corporation Berhad. The initiative is a collaboration involving the Johor State Government, JKNJ, Waqaf An-Nur Corporation Berhad, and the Johor State Health Exco Office. KWAN Mobile Clinic services in Johor began in 2017 and currently in operation through two mobile units that serve various communities across the state. The addition of HSAJB as a new service point is expected to increase outreach to patients, including those seeking treatment at public hospitals. To date, KWAN has treated more than 2.2 million patients nationwide through a network comprising eight static clinics, eight dialysis centres with 192 dialysis machines, and nine mobile units.
