Hyderabad, June 1 (UNI) In a glittering ceremony held at Hyderabad's HITEX Exhibition Centre, 21-year-old Opal Suchata Chuangsri from Thailand was crowned Miss World 2025 on Saturday, triumphing over 108 contestants from across the globe. Opal outshone participants from 108 nations, including strong contenders like Hasset Dereje of Ethiopia, Maja Klajda of Poland and Aurelie Joachim of Martinique. Her coronation was presided by Miss World 2024, Krystyna Pyszkova, who ceremoniously passed on the bejeweled crown, sealing Opal's ascension into the international limelight. India's hopeful, Nandini Gupta, was unable to secure a position in the top eight. Along with the prestigious title, Opal was awarded a cash prize of Rs 8.5 crore, sparking an atmosphere of celebration in Thailand as she has brought international fame to her country. She participated in the competition under the slogan of 'Opal for Her' campaign, inspired by her personal battle with cancer.
