Football news: Man Utd 'close in on free transfer' as Arsenal's three-man wishlist emerges

The Premier League season will come to an end soon and clubs are already planning for the summer, with the likes of Manchester United, Arsenal and Liverpool looking to make new additions The Premier League season is almost over, with Liverpool already confirmed as champions and Southampton, Leicester and Ipswich already relegated to the Championship. There are just four gameweeks left and the race for European qualification is hotting up. The top five teams are set to qualify for the Champions League, while the clubs which finish sixth and seventh will play in the Europa League and Conference League respectively. Manchester United and Tottenham are also in the race for Europe, even though they currently sit 14th and 16th in the league. ‌ Both United and Spurs are in the semi-finals of the Europa League and will qualify for next season's Champions League if they go on to win the tournament. Arsenal are also in the semi-finals of the Champions League, but will need to overturn a first leg defeat to Paris Saint-Germain if they are to reach the final. ‌ Here, Mirror Football takes a look at some of the latest news... Man Utd 'close in on free transfer' Manchester United are set to sign Enzo Kana-Biyik on a free transfer from Le Havre, according to reports in France. The 18-year-old striker is out of contract with Le Havre in the summer and is said to have travelled to Manchester to finalise a move to Old Trafford. Monaco and Marseille were also interested in Kana-Biyik, but United look to have won the race for his signature. Kana-Biyik is set to spend next season on loan at Swiss club FC Lausanne-Sport, which is owned by United co-owners INEOS, as he looks to gain more first-team experience. Arsenal's three-man wishlist Mirror Football understands that Arsenal's top priority this summer is signing a new striker and there are three names on their shortlist. ‌ Mikel Arteta is a huge fan of Newcastle star Alexander Isak, but it seems unlikely that the Magpies will sell him this summer. RB Leipzig's Benjamin Sesko and Sporting Lisbon's Viktor Gyokeres are also being considered. New sporting director Andrea Berta is an admirer of Gyokeres, who has scored 52 goals in 48 games across all competitions so far this season, while Sesko was Arsenal's top target last summer. ‌ Liverpool learn Mbeumo price tag Liverpool are one of several clubs interested in signing Bryan Mbeumo this summer, but Brentford have set an asking price of more than £60million for the forward. Mbeumo has scored 18 league goals so far this season and the likes of Chelsea and Newcastle are also said to be considering a summer swoop for the 25-year-old. When asked about Mbeumo's future, Brentford boss Thomas Frank told Sky Sports: "I know that Bryan is very happy being here at Brentford, he's thriving, doing well and playing fantastic. "What happens in the future? I don't know. I've said many times: we are a selling club. But at the same time we have to reinforce that there are 10 clubs in the world who aren't selling clubs. So, of course, if the right price - and that's going to be expensive - is coming, then I'm sure the club will be open for it." Man Utd beat PSG to summer transfer with 'contract signed' for Ruben Amorim target

Manchester United are closing in on their first capture ahead of the summer transfer window after beating Chelsea and PSG to the signing of a talented young striker Manchester United have beaten Paris Saint-Germain and a host of other European clubs to a deal for Enzo Kana-Biyik, with the highly-rated teenage striker putting pen to paper on a long-term contract. The Red Devils are expected to be active in the transfer market this summer as they seek to overhaul Ruben Amorim's beleaguered squad. More firepower is expected to be on the agenda, too, with Rasmus Hojlund and Joshua Zirkzee both struggling for goals this season. ‌ A host of big names have already been linked with a summer switch to Old Trafford - but it now seems as though the club have already bagged a new striker well before the transfer window officially opens. ‌ Kana-Biyik, 18, was courted by a host of clubs including PSG, Chelsea and Monaco. The Le Havre prodigy has agreed to join United, though, and now signed a long-term deal, according to reports in Europe. It was previously reported that the initial plan for Kana-Biyik will see the forward loaned out to FC Lausanne-Sport, a club owned by INEOS, to gain further senior experience rather than being integrated into Amorim's team immediately. The player is the son of Andre Kana-Biyik who earned 80 Cameroon caps in his career, and the brother of Jean-Armel Kana-Biyik, who is on the books at PSG's academy. United have also been working hard behind the scenes on signings who are capable of coming in and making an impact immediately. Wolves forward Matheus Cunha is among those targets and United are thought to be in pole position to sign the Brazilian once the season ends. ‌ The 25-year-old has a £62.5million release clause written into the new contract he signed back in January. He has impressed this season, scoring 15 goals and registering a further six assists to help fire Wolves clear of any relegation trouble. Manchester United have also been linked with Liam Delap - who is available for just £30m following Ipswich Town's relegation from the Premier League - and Viktor Gyokeres, though the Sporting Lisbon star has recently been tipped to move elsewhere. The Red Devils are expected to land Enzo Kana-Biyik on a free transfer from Le Havre. The moves sees United focused attempting to strengthen their squad now and in the future. The Portuguese coach has outlined how crucial the upcoming transfer window is for the Red Devils to launch an immediate improvement. The 40-year-old believes they must take advantage of having no other summer distractions. "I think it's crucial," Amorim said last month. "I think we are trying to do everything as soon as possible. If you look at the schedule of teams we will not have the Club World Cup, so that means that we are going to have a pre-season "If you look at the next years, we are going to have a World Cup then a European Championship. So this window is going to be massive to work on our base. ‌ "I think it's clear for everybody here that is going to be crucial and we have to take advantage of that. "We will not have a next pre-season. It will not be like that. So we need to do everything soon as possible to be prepared for having everybody for the pre-season to start after a season like this. "We need to show something. That is not a debate. So I don't want that conversation of we need a lot of time. We need time, maybe to win the league, but we need to improve a lot after this season."
