Global fin giant reviews UP's skill development efforts
Lucknow: In its mission to empower youth through skill development and take the state's economy to trillion-dollar target, minister for vocational education and skill development, Kapil Dev Agarwal, on Wednesday met representatives from Deloitte India . According to Agarwal, govt planned to combine local needs with modern technology while training youths. Additionally, govt is working with industrial training institutes and Skill Development Mission to launch job-oriented courses that will help young people find employment easily. The minister urged Deloitte representatives to participate in regular meetings for next two years and come up with progress report. Agarwal instructed his team to provide quality training to youth to help them get jobs and earn livelihood. During the meeting, Agarwal said promoting apprenticeships is one of the top priorities and all stakeholders must have effective communication with each other so that there was no dearth of opportunities for youth. He also asked officials to review schemes based on feedback from students, including random calls and field inspections to engage directly with students. The minister suggested that organising programmes and meetings at divisional level will expedite implementation of schemes. For effective monitoring, data on training given to youths, including their trade and mobile numbers, should be recorded on the Skill Mitra portal, he said. 27k youths to get jobs via skill devpt plan
Lucknow: In a move to provide skill training and employment opportunities to youth, the department of vocational education and skill development on Tuesday signed 22 Letters of Intent (LoIs) with different companies in a one-day academia-industry summit, 'Uttar Pradesh's Path Towards Entrepreneurial Development', organised in this, the UP govt aims to employ close to 27,000 youth in different sectors like tourism and hospitality, healthcare, pharma, automobile, banking and finance. Inaugurating the summit, minister for vocational education, skill development and entrepreneurship Kapil Dev Agarwal said, "Stakeholders, including sector skill council, industry, entrepreneurs, govt and academics, came together to determine the policies in implementation of skill development mission programmes properly."Agarwal said, "UP skill development mission will play an important role in achieving a target of $1 trillion economy. For this, govt is calling upon the industry to increase innovation, investment and participation in skill development." Agarwal said, "We aim to make youth as job creators instead of job seekers." Entrepreneurship devpt prog for youth
Lucknow: The Uttar Pradesh Skill Development Mission under the department of vocational education, skill development and entrepreneurship will host the "Towards Entrepreneurship Development in Uttar Pradesh" programme at Indira Gandhi Pratishthan in Lucknow on Tuesday. Mission director Pulkit Khare said representatives from the industry, prestigious institutions, and training partners (PIA) will gather on one platform during this programme to ensure that youth receive contemporary and demand-based training and can directly connect with employment. This programme strives not only for skill development but also for promoting entrepreneurship. It will establish a synergy between the needs of industries and the capabilities of the youth, opening new avenues for livelihood. Being organised as part of the union govt's Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Grameen Kaushalya Yojana , the programme aims to provide free vocational training to impoverished rural youth aged 15 to 35 years (15 to 45 years for women) to make them employable.
