Virgin Island star reveals he's 'banned' from speaking to sex partner

A Virgin Island star who was the only participant to lose their virginity on Channel 4's controversial new show has revealed how he is not allowed to speak to his surrogate sex partner. Dave, 24, an accountant, arrived in Croatia last year to tackle his intimacy issues along with 11 other participants. Every virgin on the reality show was aged between 22 and 30 as they were sent to the luxury Mediterranean island for two weeks. While they were there, they worked through a series of exercises with sex experts to help them overcome the barriers affecting their sex life. The show has not been without controversy, after fans branded the series as 'the most awkward thing I have ever seen'. But, according to Dave his partnership with certified surrogate and somatic practitioner Kat Slade has drastically changed since leaving Croatia. To view this video please enable JavaScript, and consider upgrading to a web browser that supports HTML5 video Despite losing his virginity to Kat in this season's final episode, Dave has not been in contact with Kat since. 'It was explained very clearly to us that you don't stay in touch after – it's sort of two weeks, and that's it and then you move on,' he told MailOnline. 'It's not easy to just detach from feelings, but I think it's an important lesson of it to like have those feelings and then let go of them, which probably is one of the most important lessons.' The 24-year-old added: 'I wasn't, obviously, wasn't in love with her anything. But I respected her greatly. I don't think I was too worried about falling in love.' Dave, who now has a girlfriend, described having the moment he lost his virginity being shared on Channel 4 as 'really strange', but he said that he did not 'think it's a bad thing'. During an interview with The Sun earlier this week, Dave admitted the experience had dramatically improved his self-confidence. He also said how he had gone on to sleep with two more women before he found his latest dating partner on the dating app Hinge. Following the season finale on May 27, viewers were unsurprisingly conflicted, with many wanting some more 'uncomfortable' fun. @georgiemxxre wrote on X: 'It's the best thing I've ever watched but also the worst thing I've ever seen. It's so conflicting morally, but get me a season 2 immediately please?' More Trending Andrew Young agreed, posting: 'Virgin Island has been the most uncomfortable thing I've ever watched. I hope there is a season two.' However, not everyone was as enthusiastic, as @CheekyVic admitted she only lasted 20 mins before turning it off, claiming 'it felt like I was watching a love cult in action'. EastEnders' Kat is shaken to the core by unexpected discovery on her computer

On-off EastEnders couple Kat Slater and Alfie Moon have a long and complicated history, which began when they were part of a will-they-won't-they storyline while working behind the bar of the Queen Vic in 2002. After finally getting together, they tied the knot on Christmas Day 2003, but were ripped apart a year later by Kat's jealous ex, gangster Andy Hunter (Michael Higgs), who threatened to kill Alfie unless Kat slept with him. Realising their feelings for one another were still there, they gave their marriage another shot and left Walford for pastures new at the end of 2005. Five years later, they made a bombshell comeback when it was revealed Kat had been having an affair with Alfie's cousin Michael Moon (Steve John Shepherd) and was pregnant with his son. They eventually reconciled, with Alfie agreeing to bring Tommy up as his own. However, they were heartbroken when their baby 'died' – before it was later revealed Ronnie Mitchell had actually swapped their baby with her son James, who had died from cot death. After a joyous reunion with baby Tommy, the pair were torn apart again when Kat's subsequent affair with Derek Branning (Jamie Foreman) was exposed. But a reconciliation eventually followed – as did their twin sons Bert and Ernie – before Kat and Alfie swapped the Square for Spain in 2016 after winning big on the lottery. Two years later, a broke Kat returned to Walford having split from Alfie again, after cheating on him. When he later followed home, the couple had a short-lived reunion before Alfie was revealed as the father of Kat's cousin Hayley Slater's (Katie Jarvis) baby daughter Cherry. With their relationship in tatters, Alfie did a bunk from Walford in 2019 after scamming £50k out of Phil Mitchell (Steve McFadden), who Kat later went on to have an unlikely relationship with. When Alfie returned to Albert Square again three years later, he sabotaged Kat's wedding to Phil, but it wasn't enough to split them up and they rescheduled their nuptials. However, after Kat discovered Phil had cheated on her with Emma Harding (Patsy Kensit), the pair split and she moved in with Alfie.

Powys twins through to Slimming World national finals

TWIN sisters from Powys have made it through to the national finals of Slimming World's 'Two Together' competition after losing an incredible 7 stone, 7.5 pounds between them. Kat James and Nat Morgan joined their local Slimming World group because they were frustrated at not being able to buy clothes that would fit them in high street stores. Since then, they've transformed not only their weight, but their health, habits and confidence too. They won the title of Brecon Slimming World's Two Together competition – which recognises and celebrates duos who are supporting each other on their weight loss journey. This earned the twins a place at the national finals. 'What I've love most about Slimming World is how free I've felt,' said Kat, who once weighed 13st 7lbs and is now 9st 6.5lbs. 'When I've tried losing weight before I felt restricted and couldn't sustain it for long. I never thought I'd lose weight without giving up all the foods I enjoy like pizza, cheese and fast food, but I've learnt lasting weight loss is about balance – not restriction. 'My consultant Shelly helped me to see how the ideas from other members in the group could help me overcome my own personal hurdles and stoppers. 'I've learnt so much from everyone in the group and felt supported by Shelly every single step of the way. The group is just incredible, it's like a second family now.' Nat, who has gone from 13st 12.5lbs to 10st 5.5lbs, said the journey wouldn't have been the same without the group, and Kat. 'There were weeks when I felt like giving up, but having Kat there too made all the difference,' she said. 'We've planned our weeks together and kept each other focused. And the group has cheered us on, picked us up when we needed it and shared so many great tips. 'I look forward to it every week and catching up with members who've become friends. It's a space where I feel understood, never judged and always inspired.' As they lost weight, the pair also found themselves embracing a more active lifestyle. 'Before joining Slimming World, even the idea of exercising felt overwhelming,' added Nat. 'But my consultant made me realise I could take small steps towards my goals and hearing how others had started small made me believe I could do it too. 'I began by joining a gym and slowly built up my activity. Now, I go up to four times a week and I genuinely enjoy it.' Now, group winners Kat and Nat have reached the semi-finals at Slimming World's head office in Derbyshire, where they will be joined by 12 fellow pairs to share their inspiring stories. A judging panel will select the overall winners. Shelly Willetts, who runs the Brecon Slimming World group, said: 'I'm beyond proud of Kat and Nat. Their dedication, positivity and the way they lift everyone else in group is just amazing. 'They're living proof that with the right support and the right tools real change is possible. 'They've shared recipes, celebrated milestones and kept each other focused, they've overhauled their habits together and found their sparkle again.'
