Pedestrian seriously injured in cottage country collision
Provincial police are investigating what they are deeming a 'serious' crash in Fenelon Falls Friday morning between a vehicle and a pedestrian. According to City of Kawartha Lakes OPP, emergency crews responded to the incident at around 10:30 a.m. on Lindsay Street near Green Road. Police say a vehicle that was travelling north on Lindsay Street struck a pedestrian while they were crossing the street, later confirming that the pedestrian suffered serious injuries. The area was closed to allow for investigators to work on the scene. Police are asking anyone with additional footage or information that may assist the ongoing investigation to contact City of Kawartha Lakes OPP.

Ontario Pink Floyd Tribute Band New Tour Dates, 50th Anniversary Show Announced
Floydium, the premier Pink Floyd tribute band in Canada, has announced new shows in Ontario throughout the month of May. Kawartha Lakes, Canada, May 30, 2025 -- The newly announced shows will take place across Ontario throughout May and June, culminating in the 50th Anniversary Tribute show, set to take place at Mohawk College in Hamilton. Officers seize loaded weapon during traffic stop
Police display a weapon seized during a traffic stop on Sun., May 25, 2025, in Newmarket, Ont. A man from Kawartha Lakes faces several weapons-related charges after police say officers seized a loaded firearm during a traffic stop in Newmarket. York Regional police say the officers pulled over a vehicle late Sunday evening in the area of Ashworth Drive and Bristol Road and discovered one of the occupants was wanted by police. The officers conducted a search which police say led to the discovery of the firearm. Police say the 51-year-old man had three separate firearm prohibitions for unrelated offences at the time of his arrest. 'What started as a traffic stop ended with a firearm safely removed from our streets,' stated Police Chief Jim MacSween. The other occupants in the vehicle were released shortly after the man's arrest.
