
Senior, 83, flown to trauma hospital after serious crash in Kawartha Lakes
One senior is in a trauma hospital after suffering injuries in a major crash in Kawartha Lakes.
On Friday, just before 5 p.m., members of Kawartha Lakes OPP with assistance from fire and emergency services responded to reports of a serious vehicle collision on Monck Road near Lake Dalrymple.
The area was closed for several hours while police investigated and documented the scene.
An 83-year-old man was transported by Orange to a trauma hospital following the crash.
The OPP is requesting that if anyone was in the area during the time of the collision and has any information, dash cam or surveillance footage that may assist investigators, to please call City of Kawartha Lakes OPP at 1-888-310-1122 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).
The road has since been reopened. It is unclear what circumstances led to this collision.

Dufferin Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) pulled over a car at 1:15 a.m. on July 4. Police officers determined the Orangeville resident was impaired and charged him with: Operation while impaired - blood alcohol concentration (80 plus) Operation while impaired - alcohol and drugs Driving a motor vehicle with liquor readily available Driving a motor vehicle with no currently validated permit The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Orangeville. In addition, his driver's licence was suspended, and his vehicle was impounded. The Dufferin OPP asks all motorists to plan ahead when consuming alcohol or drugs. Over $126k value of drugs seized in Sarnia
On Tuesday morning, Sarnia police seized street drugs from a woman totaling a value of $126,692. The 60-year-old female resident in the 700 block of Alexander Street was arrested for drug trafficking offences.
