Former Nebraska basketball player Keisei Tominaga drops 12 points in the NBA Summer League
A former Husker put together his first double-digit outing in his final game of the NBA Summer League. Keisei Tominaga delivered 12 points for the Indiana Pacers in his first start of the Summer League. Tominaga played for just 19 minutes in the Pacers' 113-104 win over the New Orleans Pelicans but made substantial efforts to close out the tournament with a solid performance. He shot 4-of-13 from the floor, 2-of-8 from beyond the arc, and 2-of-2 from the free throw line. Tominaga had previously played in only two games for Indiana in the Summer League, accumulating three points in 15 total minutes of play. Indiana concludes the Summer League with a 3-2 record, missing out on the Summer League playoffs. Tominaga was picked up by the Pacers in 2024 after playing three seasons at Nebraska. He then appeared in 14 games with the Indiana Mad Ants, the Pacers' G League affiliate, before being called up to play in the Summer League. In his three seasons with the Huskers, Tominaga scored 1,074 points and finished seventh in school history for career 3-pointers, with 178 made. In his final season with the Huskers, he averaged 15.1 points per game, helping the team to a 23-11 record and a third-place Big Ten finish. Indiana Pacers Sign Fan-Favorite Olympian to Summer League Roster
Indiana Pacers Sign Fan-Favorite Olympian to Summer League Roster originally appeared on Athlon Sports. The Indiana Pacers, after losing Tyrese Haliburton to injury and Myles Turner to free agency, seem headed towards a down year in 2025-26. Advertisement After making the Eastern Conference Finals in 2024 and then improving to make the Finals in 2025, the Pacers were hoping to run the Eastern Conference for the next several seasons, but instead will struggle to make the playoffs. So next season, why not have some fun with it? The Pacers signed guard Keisei Tominaga to a Summer League contract. He averaged 15.1 points and 2.3 rebounds for the Nebraska Cornhuskers in 2023-24, and has found some success playing for the Japanese national team. In the 2023 FIBA Cup he averaged 10 points, although he scored only a single basket for Japan during three Olympic appearances. Advertisement Still, he was a fan favorite in college, and the frisky Japanese team quickly won over fans in Paris, with Yuki Kawamura signing with the Memphis Grizzlies last season. The Pacers have three open roster spots and two open two-way contracts, although Enrique Freeman is expected to sign, as might James Wiseman or Thomas Bryant. In the wake of Haliburton's injury, the Pacers do have room on their depth chart for a guard, although Tominaga is far from an elite shooter or facilitator, and his defense is lacking. While he might win over fans this summer, it is not expected that he will suit up in the NBA next season, although he could find himself on a G League roster if all goes well. Basketball: Tominaga sees playing for Hokkaido as shortcut to NBA
SAPPORO (Kyodo) -- National team guard Keisei Tominaga said Monday he chose to join Levanga Hokkaido of Japan's B-League because it offered a path to becoming an NBA player in the future. "I thought coming over here would be the shortest route to my goal -- the NBA," the 24-year-old former U.S. college basketball standout said at his introductory press conference in Sapporo. Tominaga is set to receive the largest annual salary ever for a Levanga player. The sharp-shooting guard played for the Indiana Mad Ants in the NBA's developmental G League the past season but saw limited court time. The presence of new Hokkaido head coach Torsten Loibl influenced Tominaga's move. Loibl coached Tominaga when he was on a youth-level national team. "He's one of the coaches who brought out the best in me," Tominaga said. Tominaga was a member of the Japanese men's team at the 2024 Paris Olympics and 2023 FIBA World Cup. He also represented the country in 3x3 basketball at the Tokyo Olympics in 2021. "We want him to come up big in Hokkaido," Levanga's general manager Ryota Sakurai said. "We would like to support him if he wants to take up the challenge of playing overseas."

The 24-year-old former U.S. college standout saw limited game time the past season playing for the Indiana Mad Ants in the NBA's developmental G League. "I'll use my ability behind the three-point line and give all I have to contribute to the team winning the B-League for the first time," Tominaga, who will wear No. 30 for Hokkaido, said in a statement. The Aichi Prefecture native played for Ranger College in Texas and the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. Tominaga represented Japan both at the 2023 FIBA World Cup and the 2024 Paris Olympics, while he also represented his country in 3x3 basketball at the Tokyo Olympics in 2021.
