Developer, quarry companies to repair damage caused by overloaded lorries
GUA MUSANG: The developer of the Kemubu Small Hydropower Project (PHK), along with several quarry companies, have agreed to repair road damage caused by the movement of lorries carrying excessive loads to the project site in Mukim Kuala Stong, Dabong in Kuala Krai.
The Kelantan Public Works Department (JKR) director Nik Soh Yaacoub said that damage was detected on several main routes, including the D233 Jalan Kemubu-Bertam and D229 Jalan Kampung Biak routes in Kuala Krai, as well as the D235 Jalan Bertam Lama-Jerek route and part of the D233 route in the Gua Musang area.
"The developer will repair the roads back to their original condition, involving the sub-base to the premix surface, to ensure the roads are restored. The roads in question have been damaged down to the base structure due to lorries carrying heavy loads of rocks from the quarry in Gua Musang to the PHK in Kemubu,´ he said to Bernama on Wednesday (June 25).
On June 17, Bernama reported that approximately 5,000 road users faced the risk of accidents and vehicle damage due to the severely damaged road conditions in Kampung Bertam Lama here.
Meanwhile, Nenggiri assemblyman Mohd Azmawi Fikri Abdul Ghani when met in in Kampung Bertam Lama today said his team hopes that the quality monitoring conducted by the JKR will ensure that the repaired roads can be used for a long period, even when traversed by overloaded lorries with construction materials. - Bernama
