Draymond slyly claps back at Robertson for HOFer's passing critique
Draymond slyly claps back at Robertson for HOFer's passing critique originally appeared on NBC Sports Bay Area Draymond Green issued a stern response to Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Famer Oscar Robertson's critique of him in the most respectful way he could. After the former 12-time NBA All-Star grilled Green for calling the league 'boring' during All-Star Weekend, the veteran Warriors forward responded to Robertson on the latest episode of his podcast, 'The Draymond Green Show with Baron Davis.' 'I thought those comments were very interesting,' Green told co-host Baron Davis. 'The 'Big O' is 86 years old, so if you think I'm going to come on here and disrespect because there was disrespect thrown, that ain't how I roll. I'm never going to disrespect one of the pioneers of the game because he shared a bad opinion. 'When speaking of the Big O, though … We want to enjoy our last years we got with our pioneers, the time we do have left with them, we're going to enjoy that. I'm going to enjoy these last years.' "Who cares what Draymond says" 😂😂 NBA legend and HOF'er Oscar Robertson in response to Draymond Green's comments about the NBA being boring.@TermineRadio | @TheFrankIsola — SiriusXM NBA Radio (@SiriusXMNBA) February 17, 2025 In his criticism of Green, Robertson said the Warriors forward might find today's NBA 'boring' because of how frequently he passes the ball to sharpshooting teammate Steph Curry. Green doesn't understand that criticism one bit, and pointed out what he believes to be the irony in Robertson's comments. 'When we start talking about knowing the game and how you think the game, I'm not sure what idiot wouldn't want to pass Steph Curry the ball when he's the greatest shooter of all time,' Green added. 'I don't really take that personal. Certain games I'm going to look for him even more than you're accustomed to me looking for him, because why wouldn't I? '… For a guy who averaged 11 assists [per game], you were also passing the ball. You cannot quite average 11 assists and not pass the ball. In the year that Big O won a championship when he was starting to age, you were passing the ball to Kareem Abdul-Jabbar himself. Not quite sure where the dig comes from.' Green also revealed that he saw and spoke with Robertson before the Kia Skills Challenge during All-Star Saturday Night at Chase Center and received plenty of praise from his soon-to-be detractor. 'During the skills challenge that I blew, I saw him on the sidelines,' Green shared. 'I got up out of my seat, I said 'hello,' and he's like, 'Man, you're still out there doing it. Keep on going, love watching you play, man. I just love watching you play, you keep going.' So to hear him say that and then the next morning he completely flipped and go opposite, I was a little surprised by that, I must say. Because it wasn't quite that same energy when I saw him.' Maybe, as Green speculates, Robertson just doesn't tune in to many Warriors games. 'Quite honestly, at 86, I'm pretty sure Big O ain't watching many of our games. Big O [is] sound asleep by the time we play at night,' Green told a giggling Davis. 'He sound asleep. There's zero percent chance Big O is up watching the Dubs.' Fair point. Controversy in All-Star Skills Challenge? Yes. And Cavaliers won event.
SAN FRANCISCO—On a weekend when Adam Silver talked about respecting the All-Star event and taking it seriously, the first thing most fans saw was the Spurs' team of Chris Paul and Victor Wembanyama trying to game the system. CP3 and Wemby DISQUALIFIED after trying to hack the NBA Skills Challenge 😂 It turns out that there is a rule book that governs the NBA All-Star Saturday Night Skills Challenge. Seriously. Paul and Wembanyama were disqualified for not making a valid attempt at shooting the ball — an NBA executive came out with a rule book to show Paul where it said that. 'If they weren't disqualified, I think we probably would have just did the same thing to be honest with you,' the Cavaliers Donovan Mitchell said. 'Play to win, I guess.' With the Spurs out of the way, the Cleveland Cavaliers team of All-Stars Evan Mobley and Mitchell went on to win the event. Team Cavs goes first in the Final Round of the #KiaSkills Challenge 🍿 In the event finals, it was the Cavaliers against the Warriors — Draymond Green and Moses Moody — in what was a fitting Finals throwback vibe. The bad news for the Warriors fans filling the Chase Center it was more reminiscent of 2016, when Green let the Warriors down — he did it again and Cleveland got the upset at home. But all we're going to be talking about is the Spurs trying to cheat their way to a win.

Chris Paul was so mad after the Spurs were hilariously disqualified from the NBA Skills Challenge
It did not take long for NBA All-Star Saturday Night to have some spice as the two players representing the Spurs were quickly disqualified. Chris Paul and Victor Wembanyama represented San Antonio in the NBA Skills Challenge and tried a unique strategy to circumvent the rules. Rather than attempt any shots, the two players instead focused on the other aspects of the drill. It was a fascinating decision by the players, but unfortunately for Paul and Wembanyama, it was not legal. As boos reigned down from the crowd in San Francisco, they soon learned that they were not allowed to use this strategy. CP3 and Wemby DISQUALIFIED after trying to hack the NBA Skills Challenge 😂 — NBA on TNT (@NBAonTNT) February 16, 2025 Paul was then heard on the broadcast complaining as other participants continued in the Skills Challenge. Officials brought out the rules for Paul and Wembanyama to review, though neither seemed very happy with the decision. Source said SA flew its massage therapist to San Francisco, along with the physical therapist and performance coach to put Wembanyama through his usual pre-game routine – even for the Kia Skills Challenge – because 'he takes it so seriously.' — Michael C. Wright (@mikecwright) February 15, 2025 This was probably especially frustrating for Wembanyama considering that the Spurs brought out their physical therapist and performance coach so he could have his typical pre-game routine TNT's Allie LaForce attempted to interview Paul (multiple times) after the ruling and he refused to chat with her about what transpired. Talk about some excitement early in the night!

While we typically love Fubo for most sports, there's one caveat when subscribing to Fubo specifically for NBA access, and that's the fact that the platform doesn't carry TNT, which will be carrying a majority of All-Star weekend coverage, including the dunk contest on Saturday. Fortunately, you can tune in to TNT, as well as ESPN, ABC, NBA TV and ESPN2 on DirecTV and Hulu with Live TV, which will give you access to all of the weekend's events.
