King Salman Arabic Academy Launches Harf Arabic Language Competition
The King Salman Global Academy for Arabic Language launched the third edition of the Harf competition for non-Arabic-speaking students, an initiative aimed at promoting the use of Arabic among non-native speakers in cooperation with universities, institutes, and educational centers across the Kingdom, with entries accepted until May 31. The Harf competition is designed to highlight the beauty of the Arabic language and motivate learners to use it in various cognitive and practical contexts that enhance linguistic competence and confidence in expression. The competition targets three main categories: the primary category for high school students, the intermediate category for undergraduate students, and the advanced category for graduate students.

Saudi academy concludes Arabic program in Spain
RIYADH: The King Salman Global Academy for Arabic Language has concluded its Arabic Language Month program in Spain, the Saudi Press Agency reported. Held throughout April, the initiative is part of the academy's global project to support Arabic education for non-native speakers and promote collaboration with international academic and cultural institutions. The program included a range of educational and cultural events across Spanish cities such as Madrid, Granada and Cordoba. Activities featured an exhibition, seminars, training courses, language proficiency tests and student competitions, organized in partnership with Spanish universities and institutions. Key collaborators included Casa Arabe, Rey Juan Carlos University, the Autonomous University of Madrid and the University of Granada. Targeting Arabic learners, educators and specialists, the program offered training sessions, awareness activities and academic forums. It concluded in Cordoba with an introductory lecture and open forum for Arabic language enthusiasts. The lecture outlined the academy's global vision, highlighted its international projects and explored future partnerships with Spanish institutions. The initiative has also been implemented in countries such as Uzbekistan, Indonesia, China, India, France, Brazil, Thailand and Malaysia, expanding its global reach.

Saudi Arabia launches pavilion at Muscat International Book Fair
RIYADH: The Literature, Publishing and Translation Commission has inaugurated Saudi Arabia's pavilion at the 2025 Muscat International Book Fair, which is running until May 3. Abdullatif Al-Wasel, CEO of the commission, in a statement, said of the event which started on Thursday: 'The Saudi participation reflects the deep cultural bonds between Saudi Arabia and Oman. 'The commission seeks to strengthen collaboration in literature, publishing and translation fields, highlighting the cultural vitality and knowledge advancement flourishing in both nations.' Al-Wasel said the fair creates significant opportunities for the book industry by connecting Saudi Arabia's publishers with their international counterparts. The participants at the fair include the King Salman Global Academy for Arabic Language, King Abdulaziz Foundation for Research and Archives, and the King Abdulaziz Public Library. Also present are the Ministry of Islamic Affairs, Dawah and Guidance, King Fahd Complex for the Printing of the Holy Qur'an, the Publishing Association, and Taibah University. The participation aligns with Saudi Arabia's efforts to enhance cultural ties with Oman while promoting cultural-sector investment opportunities, Al-Wasel stated.
