Pete Davidson reveals hefty sum he's spent removing his tattoos: 'Uncomfortable amount'

Pete Davidson reveals hefty sum he's spent removing his tattoos: 'Uncomfortable amount' Show Caption Hide Caption Will 'Queer Eye' continue after Season 9? Here's what the cast says. The cast of Netflix's "Queer Eye" talked with USA TODAY's Ralphie Aversa at iHeartRadio's Jingle Ball about the show's future and more. Pete Davidson's tattoo removal journey will be neither brief nor cheap. The former "Saturday Night Live" star, 31, revealed in an interview with Variety published April 23 that he has spent $200,000 on getting all of his tattoos removed, and he isn't even halfway finished. "It's a pretty uncomfortable amount of money to disclose, but I think one of the tabloids already leaked it," Davidson told Variety. "I've already spent like 200K and I'm like 30% done. So, like, it's gonna suck." The comedian also said it may take another 10 years before all of his tattoos are gone, noting he still has "to do my torso and back." Davidson, who has opened up about his mental health struggles and borderline personality disorder diagnosis, reflected that he wanted to remove his tattoos because he got them done during a time when he "wasn't taking care of" himself. "I used to be a drug addict and I was a sad person, and I felt ugly and that I needed to be covered up," he told Variety. "And I don't think there's anything wrong with tattoos, but mine, when I look at them, I remember a sad person that was very unsure. So I'm just removing them and starting fresh, because that's what I think works best for me and for my brain." Davidson started getting his tattoos removed in 2020. On "Late Night with Seth Meyers" in 2021, he said he was inspired to do so in part because "it takes like three hours" to cover them up for his acting roles. "So now I'm burning them off, but burning them off is worse than getting them," he said. Pete Davidson says his 200 tattoos are 'almost gone' after years of 'horrible' lasering In January, the "King of Staten Island" star shared he has continuing getting his tattoos removed and that it's been "horrible," noting he at one point had around 200 of them. "They've got to burn off a layer of your skin, and then it has to heal for, like, six to eight weeks," he said. "And you can't get in the sunlight, and then you've got to do it, like, 12 more times. So really think about that 'Game of Thrones' tattoo you're thinking of getting." Pete Davidson strips down in tattoo-free Reformation ad as he shows off muscles Davidson added that he might keep "two or three" tattoos but is "trying to clean slate it" and "trying to be an adult."

Pete Davidson Gets Naked And Reveals How Many Tattoos He Still Has Left

Maybe call it big Photoshop energy. Last week, social media was abuzz with the news that Pete Davidson — who at one point had over 200 tattoos — was officially ink-free. The 'receipts' came in the form of a Reformation campaign in which the 'Saturday Night Live' alum was shirtless, and appeared to have successfully removed all his body art. The 'King of Staten Island' star has been in the process of removing his tattoos for a few years now, and talked about his decision to do so on a 2021 episode of 'Late Night with Seth Meyers.' Being that Davidson has been linked to his ink for the past few years, social media users on X, formerly Twitter, had mixed feelings on his new look. put that tats back now he looks weird — midwestmisfit 👨🚀🇺🇸 (@midwest_misfit) February 11, 2025 Pete Davidson without tattoos is like Tpain without his auto tune — Real G! (@Harafcy) February 11, 2025 Pete Davidson removed his tattoos and I fell to my knees in anguish — Fiction 🔥 (@ficofthestars) February 12, 2025 He went from looking like a Trader Joe's bag to a regular paper bag — mizge (@mihailo____) February 12, 2025 The best thing he could've done for himself, honestly. Now he looks like a grown up! I hope his mental health is doing well too — 𓃭 LOEWE Lioness (@GgV0gue) February 12, 2025 I'm impressed. I've never seen tattoo removal done so flawlessly, honestly. — Writer, Writer, Pants On 🔥! (@WritrWritrPOF) February 12, 2025 But on Sunday's 'SNL 50' special, Davidson appeared in a pre-taped sketch in which he essentially got naked, revealing that he still — at least, at the time this was filmed — has numerous tattoos etched all over his torso. In the skit, called 'Chad in 8H,' Davidson revisits his apathetic and overly chill character 'Chad' who accompanies original 'SNL' cast member Laraine Newman as she takes a nostalgic stroll through the legendary variety show's studio. At one point in the sketch, Newman tells Chad that back when she started on the show in 1975, she 'would have been all over you.' This remark prompts Davidson's Chad to take off all his clothes, revealing that Davidson still has tats all over his stomach and chest. His tattoos on his arms and shoulders seem to be fading, or almost entirely gone, however. It's unclear when Davidson and Newman's 'SNL 50' sketch was filmed or when his Reformation photos were shot. But Davidson has been photographed within the past six months with tattoos still visible on his arms — and in the Reformation ads, all his tattoos appear to be gone. HuffPost has reached out to Davidson and Reformation for clarity. Davidson has also recently made some comments that seem to indicate that he's not entirely ink-free just yet. In January, Davidson told Jimmy Fallon on the 'Tonight Show' that tattoo removal is a long and painful process. 'It's horrible,' Davison told Fallon at the time. 'They have to burn off a layer of your skin, and then it has to heal for six to eight weeks, and you can't get in the sunlight. And then you gotta do it, like, 12 more times.' Davidson, who is currently 31 years old, also told Seth Meyers earlier this month that he likely won't be entirely tattoo-free until he's 40 and that it takes 'at least seven visits' to fully get rid of just one tattoo.
