TDP's strength grows with successful Mahanadu: Rajam MLA

Former minister and Rajam MLA Kondru Muralimohan on Thursday said that the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) has consolidated its strength with the successful completion of the party's yearly conclave—'Mahanadu' in Kadapa, which was previously a Congress and YSRCP bastion. Mr. Muralimohan led a large delegation from Rajam constituency and actively participated in the deliberations. He expressed happiness at the inclusive nature of the event and said: 'All leaders from all regions got an opportunity to express their views.' He added that every party leader and activist understood Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu's vision for the development of the State and strengthening of the party. He said: 'We hope the party will play a vital role in national politics, since it has always worked for the nation instead of confining itself to regional issues.' We will organise meetings in all the mandals of Rajam to explain the objectives of Mr. Chandrababu Naidu, as many could not come to Kadapa. The party will show its strength again whenever local body elections are conducted in the State, Mr. Murali added.

Government placing special focus on North Andhra irrigation projects: Minister Nimmala Ramanaidu

The NDA government was giving special priority for quick completion of irrigation projects in North Andhra region to ensure speedy development of Vizianagaram, Parvatipuram and Srikakulam districts, Minister for Irrigation Nimmala Ramanaidu said on Tuesday (April 22). Along with MLAs Kondru Muralimohan, Lokam Madhavi, he inspected works of Tarakarama Teertha Sagar project located in Nellimarla constituency of Vizianagaram district. Irrigation officials arranged an exhibition to enable the Minister and other public representatives to know about the work in progress of the project being constructed on Champavati river. Speaking to media on the occasion, said that Tarkarama Teertha Sagar was a vital project as it would cater to irrigation of 20,000 acres of land and provide drinking water facility for Vizianagaram City and Bhogapuram international airport. He alleged that the previous government had ignored the project which led to the damage of many structures. Mr. Ramanaidu said that the project cost might escalate as the previous estimated amount of ₹807 crore might not be sufficient to complete the pending works. The Minister assured that the government would clear ₹1.75 crore amount to be paid to the land owners under Land Acquisition Act. Later, the Minister inspected the works of Vamsadhara phase-2 project in Srikakulam district.
