MUMBAI: IIM Kashipur successfully hosted Sangam: The Round Table Conference at The Riverview Retreat, Jim Corbett, under the theme 'Work 360: People, Purpose and Planet.' The conference served as a dynamic platform for dialogue between academia and industry, with leaders sharing insights on the evolving world of work shaped by sustainability, inclusivity, innovation, and generational shifts. The event began with a welcome address by Prof. Kunal Ganguly, Dean – Development, who acknowledged the role of corporate speakers in bridging the gap between classroom learning and industry realities. He highlighted IIM Kashipur's commitment to experiential learning, particularly through its mandatory 'Experiential Learning' module that equips students with hands-on exposure to real business challenges. Prof. Neeraj Dwivedi, Director of IIM Kashipur, reflected on the transformative impact of technology on the workplace, citing AI and blockchain as examples of forces reshaping industries. He emphasised that such conferences help students understand emerging opportunities and the skillsets necessary for the future. Prof. Bhamoriya's insightful moderation ensured a seamless flow of dialogue, drawing out nuanced perspectives from each panellist and connecting their ideas to the broader theme of purposeful leadership. Ajay Pal Singh, General Manager – Corporate HRBP at Niva Bupa Health Insurance, discussed the importance of tailoring talent development initiatives to individual strengths. She observed that today's workforce is highly analytical and self-aware, expecting more than just job security. Organisations must not only be ready to receive this generation but also engage them meaningfully. At Bira 91, she shared, they hire for "humility and audacity"—a combination of bold thinking and grounded behaviour. Suraj Shetty, Head – Talent Acquisition COE at Kalpataru Group, shared that Gen Z constitutes over 35% of their workforce. He noted that these professionals want to work with organisations that take definitive stands on environmental and social issues and prefer cultures that are proactive and solution-oriented. Ambika Wadhwa, Vice President – People & Culture at Gourmet Investments Pvt. Ltd., highlighted the critical role of mentorship during internships. She urged students to be conscious of what they wish to gain from each professional opportunity and to approach every assignment with purpose and intent. Akshay Rakshit, HR Business Partner at BMW Group India, focused on value alignment and intellectual curiosity. He emphasised that students entering the corporate world should be driven to ask questions and seek alignment between their personal values and organisational culture, as this leads to more meaningful careers. The Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Kashipur hosted a five-day programme titled 'Nurturing Future Leadership'. The initiative, held under the Malaviya Mission Teacher Training Programme (MMTTP) of the Ministry of Education, focused on equipping educators with leadership and pedagogical skills to address institutional challenges effectively. The programme was designed for teachers and faculty members from centrally funded institutes, state public universities, grant-in-aid colleges, and private higher education institutions. Forty-two participants from across India took part in this fourth batch of the leadership initiative. Training sessions included case studies, group exercises, design thinking, innovation practices, policy insights, and peer learning. These interactive formats aimed to strengthen participants' ability to lead academic institutions and enhance educational outcomes. The programme was inaugurated by Prof. Neeraj Dwivedi, Director of IIM Kashipur, who emphasized the role of the National Education Policy (NEP) in shaping future-ready education systems. The valedictory session featured Prof Kunal Ganguly (Dean Development), Prof K N Badhani, and Prof. Vaibhav Bhamoriya, who highlighted the significance of collaboration between IIM Kashipur.

IIM Kashipur signs MoU to introduce Sustainability and Clean Energy programmes

The Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Kashipur has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Nagpur-based pManifold EV Academy Pvt Ltd (evACAD) to collaborate in the domains of clean energy technologies, carbon markets, green finance, ESG, circular economy, and sustainability. As part of this collaboration, both organisations are introducing a programme – Post Graduate Executive Certificate Programme in Net Zero Strategy and Sustainability Leadership – aimed at working professionals from core engineering, energy, oil & gas, power, consulting, corporate finance, sustainability & related backgrounds who wish to upskill and lead the transition to sustainable development and clean energy for industries, social sector, MSMEs, govt. agencies and the general public. Covering a wide gamut of topics from climate systems, decarbonization technologies, net zero pathways to carbon markets, climate financing, and sustainable business models, the press release mentioned. This programme is structured around three fundamental pillars: people, planet and profit. Through engagement strategies, case study-based learning and sustainability-focused teamwork, the participants will learn inclusive leadership in sustainability initiatives and change management methodologies. Additionally, they will be well trained on climate risk and economics and ecosystem thinking, as well as circular economy aspects. Participants will also explore new-age financing mechanisms for sustainability projects and investment evaluations. The MoU was signed by Prof Kunal Ganguly, Dean (Development), IIM Kashipur, and Rahul Bagdia, Chairman and Managing Director, pManifold EV Academy Pvt. Ltd., in the presence of Prof Vaibhav Bhamoriya and other faculty and members of the IIM. Meanwhile, the Institute has commenced the academic year 2025–27 by inducting 433 students across its key programmes — the MBA, MBA (Analytics), and PhD. The induction programme was held from June 23 to 26, followed by the formal inaugural session on June 27, 2025. As of June 27 (noon), the new cohort includes 265 students in the flagship MBA programme, 157 students in the MBA (Analytics) programme, and 11 doctoral research scholars under the PhD programme. Students admitted this year represent a mix of academic streams, including arts, commerce, science, and engineering, along with varied professional experiences.

The Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Kashipur, Uttarakhand has entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with pManifold EV Academy Pvt. Ltd. ( evACAD ), based in Nagpur, to collaborate on programmes related to clean energy technologies, carbon markets, green finance , ESG, circular economy , and sustainability. The MoU was signed by Prof. Kunal Ganguly, Dean (Development), IIM Kashipur , and Mr. Rahul Bagdia, Chairman and Managing Director of evACAD, in the presence of Prof. Vaibhav Bhamoriya and other faculty members of IIM Kashipur. As part of this collaboration, the institutions will launch the Post Graduate Executive Certificate Programme in net zero strategy and sustainability leadership . The course is designed for working professionals from engineering, energy, oil and gas, power, consulting, corporate finance, and sustainability sectors. It aims to provide participants with an understanding of the challenges associated with sustainability and clean energy transitions. The programme will include topics such as climate systems, decarbonisation technologies , carbon markets, net zero pathways, and sustainable business models. It will also focus on analytical skills and cross-functional leadership abilities required to implement sustainability strategies in various organisations. Training for practical implementation Structured around the themes of People, Planet, and Profit, the course will involve engagement strategies, case-based learning, and teamwork. Participants will gain insight into climate risk and economics, circular economy practices, and new financing methods for sustainability-related projects. Prof. Kunal Ganguly said, 'IIM Kashipur is seeking new horizons and training professionals to be relevant and orchestrate change for a better planet through business. While the challenges they face are many, this programme aims to be the way ahead towards attaining business and societal goals." Rahul Bagdia stated, 'This collaboration will help us impart values and knowledge to the next generation of management leaders whom the industries will look upon to steer the challenging task of transitioning to a net-zero future.' Both institutions view this partnership as a step towards building a pipeline of professionals capable of guiding organisations through the Net Zero transition and developing long-term sustainable value.
