
IIM Kashipur signs MoU to introduce Sustainability and Clean Energy programmes
As part of this collaboration, both organisations are introducing a programme – Post Graduate Executive Certificate Programme in Net Zero Strategy and Sustainability Leadership – aimed at working professionals from core engineering, energy, oil & gas, power, consulting, corporate finance, sustainability & related backgrounds who wish to upskill and lead the transition to sustainable development and clean energy for industries, social sector, MSMEs, govt. agencies and the general public.
Covering a wide gamut of topics from climate systems, decarbonization technologies, net zero pathways to carbon markets, climate financing, and sustainable business models, the press release mentioned.
This programme is structured around three fundamental pillars: people, planet and profit. Through engagement strategies, case study-based learning and sustainability-focused teamwork, the participants will learn inclusive leadership in sustainability initiatives and change management methodologies.
Additionally, they will be well trained on climate risk and economics and ecosystem thinking, as well as circular economy aspects. Participants will also explore new-age financing mechanisms for sustainability projects and investment evaluations.
The MoU was signed by Prof Kunal Ganguly, Dean (Development), IIM Kashipur, and Rahul Bagdia, Chairman and Managing Director, pManifold EV Academy Pvt. Ltd., in the presence of Prof Vaibhav Bhamoriya and other faculty and members of the IIM.
Meanwhile, the Institute has commenced the academic year 2025–27 by inducting 433 students across its key programmes — the MBA, MBA (Analytics), and PhD. The induction programme was held from June 23 to 26, followed by the formal inaugural session on June 27, 2025.
As of June 27 (noon), the new cohort includes 265 students in the flagship MBA programme, 157 students in the MBA (Analytics) programme, and 11 doctoral research scholars under the PhD programme. Students admitted this year represent a mix of academic streams, including arts, commerce, science, and engineering, along with varied professional experiences.

Optiemus to make tempered glass screen protectors with Corning in India
Optiemus on Wednesday (August 13, 2025) partnered with Corning to make tempered glass screen protectors called RhinoTech for smartphones in India. Corning will supply glass for the screen protectors while Optiemus will do the chemical processing at its Noida-based plant and bring out an end product meant for premium to budget segment phones in the country and later for the world's consumption. Optiemus is looking to generate ₹2,000 crore revenue with the RhinoTech by the end of FY 2027. Currently, the glass screen protector is a $2.5 billion industry which is expected to grow to $5 billion in next five years. The new RhinoTech glass screen protector also claims to have anti-microbial properties and built on the standards set by Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) for the shields. India has set a global standard for tempered glass screen protectors via a BIS notification which aims to eliminate substandard products. It includes parameters for chemical tempering, visual defects, and mechanical strength, including compression and flexural tests. For the launch, Optiemus said to replace the new screen protector for free, one year, if damage happens. This collaboration aims to provide Indian consumers with high-performance screen protection, offering superior scratch resistance and drop protection up to 6 feet. Optiemus said that RhinoTech tempered glass screen protectors will be available in India by the end of September 2025. In 2023, Optiemus and Corning announced a JV to make cover glass in Tamil Nadu which is expected to start the production soon.

Vikram Solar IPO 2025: Dates, Price, Allotment & Listing Details
Kolkata-based Vikram Solar will open its first public issue on August 19, 2025, and it will close on August 21. The anchor book for big investors opens on August 18. The IPO allotment will be finalized on August 22, and shares will start trading from August 26. The IPO includes a fresh issue of Rs 1,500 crore and 1.7 crore shares from promoters. The earlier planned pre-IPO round of Rs 300 crore was not done. Vikram Solar has 4.5 GW module capacity in Kolkata and Chennai. Rs 769.7 crore will be used to build a 3,000 MW solar plant in Tirunelveli through VSL Green Power, and Rs 595.2 crore will expand module manufacturing. Other funds will be used for general purposes. The company aims for 15.5 GW capacity by FY26 and 20.5 GW by FY27, including a 3 GW solar cell facility in Gangaikondan, Tamil Nadu. Promoters own 77.64%, and the public holds 22.36%. Vikram Solar made a profit of Rs 139.8 crore in FY25, up 75.4%, with revenue of Rs 3,423.5 crore. The IPO is handled by JM Financial, Nuvama Wealth, UBS Securities, Equirus Capital, and PhillipCapital.

US-based AI search engine Perplexity has rolled out a new Finance tab designed for India users.
