Kunal Kemmu Reviews Saiyaara, Praises Ahaan Panday-Aneet Padda: ‘Both Are A Powerhouse'

Mohit Suri's musical romantic film 'Saiyaara', starring newcomers Ahaan Panday and Aneet Padda, has been receiving great reviews. The film, which released on July 18, earned a whopping Rs 20.50 crore on Day 1, making it the highest opening day figure for any film directed by Mohit Suri. Actor-director Kunal Kemmu has now shared his review of Saiyaara, and praised actors Ahaan and Aneet. Impressed by their performances, he wrote that they are blessed to be launched by the same director, Mohit Suri, who launched his career in Kalyug, back in 2005. Kunal Kemmu took to his Instagram stories to share a poster of Saiyaara, starring Ahaan Panday and Aneet Padda. He wrote, 'Last night I watched two new actors announce their arrival on the big screen and boy are they good. @aneetpadda and @ahaanpandayy you both are a powerhouse and blessed to be moulded in the hands of the same man who launched me back in 2005 with an incredible story and music just as fine as this one @mohitsuri". Kunal also praised the talented artists behind the impressive soundtrack of Saiyaara. 'A big shoutout to the incredible artists who made the music for this one," he wrote. The music album of Saiyaara, consisting of 7 songs, is composed by Mithoon, Tanishk Bagchi, Faheem Abdullah, Arslan Nizami, Vishal Mishra, Sachet-Parampara and The Rish (Rishabh Kant). For the unversed, Kunal Kemmu starred as a child artist in several films including Raja Hindustani, Zakhm, Dushman, etc, before his launch in Mohit Suri's 2005 action thriller film 'Kalyug'. The film also starred Emraan Hashmi, Smilie Suri, Deepal Shaw, Amrita Singh and Ashutosh Rana. About Saiyaara Saiyaara has been receiving good reviews from the audience and critics alike. The film has outperformed the Day 1 collections of Murder 2 (Rs 6.95 crore), Aashiqui 2 (Rs 6.10 crore), and Half Girlfriend (Rs 10.30 crore). He said during a chat with Radio Nasha, 'I remember Kunal Deshmukh and I went to meet Amrita ma'am. She was shooting for Kavyanjali at the time, so we went to the set to meet her. I narrated the story to her, saying I wanted her to play a character who dominated a male-dominated industry, a very strong female character. But while watching her, as I was narrating, I was subconsciouslythinking something. And after finishing the narration, she said, 'Yeah, I'll do it. ' Then Kunal and I left. Kunal Kemmu to play Andy Samberg's Jake Peralta in Brooklyn Nine-Nine's Indian remake? Fans are ‘happy sad confused'
Brooklyn Nine-Nine has to be one of the most watched and enjoyed American sitcoms out there. Thanks to the epic performances and the iconic content, there are fans who have binge-watched the 8-season long police procedural series not just once but twice. May it be Andy Samberg (46) as Jake Peralta or the late Andre Braugher as Raymond Holt, every character has a fun backstory. But most importantly, the sitcom has received love from across generations because it has managed to deal with issues regarding race, gender and sexual orientation in the most humorous and inoffensive way. Well, the show is now getting an Indian adaptation with Bollywood actor Kunal Kemmu (42) in the lead. Andy Samberg's iconic Jake Peralta might be played by Kunal Kemmu in Indian Brooklyn Nine-Nine That's what rumour says. According to a report shared by Peeping Moon, a Hindi adaptation of Brooklyn Nine-Nine is in the works, backed by Deepak Dhar's Banijay Asia. The production company had earlier joined forces with Netflix for Call My Agent: Bollywood, the Indian remake of a French comedy-drama. Brooklyn Nine-Nine's India adaptation will reportedly star Kunal Kemmu in the lead as Andy Samberg's beloved character Jake Peralta, who is a skilled detective dealing with immaturity and hence trouble in taking things seriously. Unless it comes to cracking a case. Brooklyn Nine-Nine's Indian adaptation will be directed by Dhoom Dhaam and fame Rishab Seth. EXCLUSIVE: Kunal Kemmu NOT approached for Brooklyn Nine Nine Indian remake; details of pilot episode inside
The American cop-comedy series Brooklyn Nine Nine, starring Andy Samberg, the late Andre Braugher, Melissa Fumero, Stephanie Beatriz, Terry Crews, Joe Lo Truglio and Chelsea Perretti, has become a cult classic over the years. And now, it is getting an adaptation in Hindi for the Indian audience. Kunal Kemmu; a still from Brooklyn Nine Nine Recent reports stated that Rishab Seth, who has directed Dhoom Dhaam and the recently released Mistry, is going to be helming the show, but seems like it's all a bit in the early stages. And now a source close to the development informs us, 'The makers do have a strong desire to bring out the Indian adaptation, but it is at a very nascent stage. Nothing is signed or confirmed as of yet and they are still looking out for a platform.' Reports also suggested that actor Kunal Kemmu has been approached to play the lead character, essayed by Andy in the original. However, that isn't the case. 'The casting of Kunal Kemmu is a complete rumour. His name has been discussed among the makers due to his impeccable comic timing, but he has not been a part of those discussions yet and nothing has been taken to him. The casting process is still a few months away,' the source shares, giving an important update on the show. 'The writers have written a pilot episode and fleshed out the characters as per Indian setting, but it's all a little early. Although, if all things go well, the show might hit the screens after a year,' the source says. Brooklyn Nine Nine follows a group of cops in the 99th precinct in Brooklyn, New York, and their everyday antics as they solve cases with a hint of humour. The show has achieved cult following over the course of its six seasons run, and is often rewatched on TV and streaming.
