Harbhajan was banned for the remainder of the IPL season due to the controversy. 'One thing I'd want to change in my life is that incident with Sreesanth. It was wrong, and I shouldn't have done it. I have apologised hundreds of times. Even years after it, I keep saying sorry whenever I get a chance. It was a mistake,' Harbhajan said. 'I met his daughter and spoke to her with love, but she said, 'I don't want to talk to you. You hit my father.' My heart was shattered, and I was on the verge of tears. R Ashwin Tells Harbhajan Singh: 'If You Were Jealous Of Me, I Think...'
Ravichandran Ashwin and Harbhajan Singh seemed to have cleared the air around their relationship publicly. In an interview on Ashwin's YouTube channel show #KuttiStoriesWithAsh, a trailer of which was released on Saturday, the two great off-spinners talked about whether Harbhajan was ever jealous of Ashwin after the latter took over his place in the Indian men's team across formats. Ashwin began his India Test career in 2011. At that time, Harbhajan had already given 13 years to the country, and his powers were on the decline. For some time, the duo co-existed, but eventually, the younger spinner started to dominate and even went past several of Harbhajan's records after his retirement. In 2022, Chennai Super Kings took their first big step towards transition when MS Dhoni shockingly stepped down as captain on the eve of their season opener to hand over the reins to Ravindra Jadeja. However, the hopes came crashing down within a month as Chennai managed just two wins in the first eight matches, amid a significant dip in Jadeja's form. Midway through the season, Jadeja stepped down, handing the duties back to Dhoni, which eventually sparked a major fiasco, with reports hinting at a rift between the two senior players. For the first time since the incident, Jadeja opened up on the "difficult" stint as a captain of Chennai, admitting that he could have done things differently. "It was difficult. In T20 cricket, every ball is an event. It is a fast game but for me it was an experience. I could have done better. As a captain, if you are team is not doing well then all the blame always falls on the captaincy. Thinking, bowling changes, fielding chances. Unfortunately, the team was not doing well. Jadeja had reportedly had a conversation with head coach Stephen Fleming and Dhoni before taking the call. N Srinivasan, Super Kings' owner, was also consulted on the matter. Overall, Jadeja managed just 112 runs in eight games, averaging 22.4 at a strike rate of 121.7, a sharp decline in his form, having amassed 459 runs in the previous two seasons at an average of 57.3 and a strike rate of 157.7. His bowling, on the other hand, was also affected. Having picked 19 wickets in the last two seasons at an economy rate of 7.7, he managed only five wickets during his captaincy tenure, at 42.6 and an economy rate of 8.1.

All-rounder Ravindra Jadeja finally broke silence on his mid-season removal as Chennai Super Kings skipper in IPL 2022. Three years ago, the all-rounder was appointed as the new leader of CSK after regular skipper and the legendary wicketkeeper-batter MS Dhoni decided to step down. However, the decision backfired as CSK lost the first four games and were stuck at the bottom of the points table. After eight matches, the franchise sacked Jadeja from the captaincy and brought Dhoni back into the role but that also could not save them from getting knocked out of the playoffs race. After the season, there were many speculations regarding the rift between Jadeja and CSK and some reports even suggested that the all-rounder will be partying ways with the franchise in the upcoming season. However, all the speculations were put to rest after he played for CSK in 2023 and even guided them to their fifth title with his match-winning performance in the final against Gujarat Titans.
