Behbehani represents Kuwait at Asian artistic gymnastics tournament

KUWAIT: The Kuwait artistic gymnastics team will participate in the 2025 FIG Artistic Gymnastics 18th Junior Asian Championships, which will be hosted in Jecheon, South Korea, on June 5-8, 2025. The 'Blue Gymnastics' team will be represented by promising star Abdullah Behbehani, who achieved promising results in the international tournaments in which he recently participated, including the West Asian Youth and Junior Championships hosted by the Jordanian capital Amman last May, as well as the Luxembourg International Open Artistic Gymnastics Championship held during the same month. The delegation of the 'Blue Gymnastics' left Tuesday for the Korean capital, Seoul, headed by team administrator Khaled Al-Madhen, and includes Ukrainian coach Vitaly Arsenyev and international referee Salah Askar, in addition to the player Behbehani. The Kuwait Gymnastics Federation expressed its wishes of success for the player in this new challenge, stressing that the competition in this tournament is very different from all previous tournaments in terms of the strength of competition, but expressed confidence in Abdullah and his keenness to represent "Kuwaiti gymnastics" at the best way possible. The Federation stated that the Asian Championship represents a suitable opportunity for Behbehani to rub shoulders with the stars of the continent, test his abilities and develop himself, as participation in this entitlement comes within the long preparation plan to participate in the Youth Olympic Games 'Senegal 2026'.

The Kuwaiti delegation departed for Seoul, led by team manager Khaled Al-Mazen. The traveling party also includes Ukrainian coach Vitaly Arsenyev, international referee Salah Askar, and athlete Abdullah Behbehani. The Kuwait Gymnastics Federation extended its best wishes to Behbehani ahead of the tournament, noting the elevated level of competition at the Asian Championship compared to previous events. Kuwait Olympic Committee celebrates ‘Blue Gymnastics'
KUWAIT: The Kuwait Olympic Committee held a reception for the champions of the Kuwait artistic gymnastics team to celebrate the achievement of the 'Blue Gymnastics' in the West Asian Championship for youth, juniors and girls categories. The tournament was recently held in the Jordanian capital Amman, during which Kuwaiti players won 32 medals; 17 gold, 6 silver and 9 bronze, in a new achievement for the sport of gymnastics in Kuwait. Sheikh Mubarak Faisal Al-Nawaf Al-Sabah, Vice President of the Kuwait Olympic Committee, praised the 'great results achieved by the Kuwaiti team in this international forum', stressing the committee's support for national teams and federations. Sheikh Mubarak Al-Faisal thanked the parents of the male and female players for their support, wishing more success for the heroes and heroines of the team in order to make more achievements and raise the name of Kuwait in all international forums. President of the Kuwait Gymnastics Federation, Fahad Al-Soula, thanked the President and members of the Kuwait Olympic Committee for their support of the Federation and its members, and thanked Sheikh Mubarak Al-Faisal for the good reception and welcome. He stressed that the Federation continues to develop the game and prepare and build national teams capable of competing and making achievements in the name of Kuwait in the sport of gymnastics with its technical and rhythmic sections, praising in this regard the support of parents of male and female players and their constant cooperation with the work of the Federation. Hessa Al-Sanea, member of the Board of Directors of the Federation and head of the Women's Committee, expressed her deep thanks and appreciation to the Olympic Committee for its interest in the heroes and heroines of the team and the wonderful achievement in the West Asian Championship, stressing that this achievement was not achieved easily but after great preparation and double efforts from the players, and great support and encouragement from their parents. Assistant Secretary of the Federation, Thaar Al-Shammari, appreciated the keenness of the Olympic Committee represented by Vice President Sheikh Mubarak Al-Faisal to receive and celebrate the team's delegation, stressing that this gesture encourages the players to exert more effort and give to continue making achievements in the name of Kuwait.

KUWAIT CITY, May 20: Kuwait's artistic gymnastics teams for youth, juniors, and girls have returned home in triumph after a stellar performance at the West Asian Gymnastics Championships, held in Amman, Jordan. The Kuwaiti delegation concluded the tournament with a total of 32 medals, including 1 gold, 6 silver, and 9 bronze, marking a major milestone in the country's gymnastics history. A celebratory reception was held at Kuwait International Airport to welcome the team. Leading the reception were Fahad Al-Soula, President of the Arab and Kuwaiti Gymnastics Federations; Abdul Latif Murad, Secretary-General of the Kuwait Gymnastics Federation; and Hessa Al-Sanea, Board Member and Chairwoman of the Women's Committee. Parents of the athletes were also present and were honored with flower bouquets as part of the celebration. Al-Soula expressed immense pride in the achievements of the national team, commending the dedication of the athletes and the efforts of the technical and administrative staff. He dedicated the victory to Kuwait's political leadership and the broader sporting community, acknowledging the continued support of the Public Authority for Sport and the Kuwait Olympic Committee in overcoming challenges faced by the federation. Kuwait bags 9 medals at Asian Gymnastics championship
AMMAN: Kuwait's gymnastics team pose with their medals in Amman. AMMAN: The artistic gymnastics team for youth, juniors and girls made a new achievement, after winning 9 medals, 6 gold, silver and two bronze, on the second day of the West Asian Gymnastics Championship which held in the Jordanian capital (Amman) from May 14 to 18. The youth team player Abdullah Behbehani won the gold medal in the general individual competition, and Saud Al-Rudaini added a second gold in the junior category, while Mousa Al-Sahaf won the silver medal in the same category and in the team competition, the youth and junior teams succeeded in enhancing Kuwait's balance, by scoring two gold medals and winning first place in each category. On the girls' level, the Kuwaiti team won 4 medals, two gold and two bronze, as the first gold came through Sarah Al-Qattan in the 'HP3' stage floor movements competition, while Nawal Al-Zamil won the second gold in the 'HP2' stage jumping table competition, Fatima Al-Nama won the bronze medal in the general individual competition for the youth category and Shaha Al-Mulla bagged bronze in the floor movements competition. For his part, Chairman of Kuwait Gymnastics Federation, Fahad Al-Soula, praised the outstanding results achieved by the team's heroes and heroines in the championship, despite the strong competition from all participating teams, hoping that the medal tally will double in the coming days. He appreciated the support provided by the Public Authority for Sports and the Olympic Committee to the Federation, and their keenness to facilitate the tasks of the national teams, thanking the parents of the players for their cooperation with the Federation, and their support for their children to represent Kuwait in the best way in international forums.
