The LAF command condemns the ongoing assaults by the Israeli enemy and warns that it may suspend cooperation with the Mechanism for Monitoring the Ceasefire regarding inspections of the sites.
Friday, 06 June 2025 The LAF Command – Directorate of Orientation issued the following statement: The Israeli enemy has recently escalated its assaults against Lebanon, targeting citizens, residential buildings, and facilities in various areas. The latest incidents involved attacks on sites in the Dahyeh Janoubiye of Beirut and the south last night, alongside the occupation of Lebanese territories and ongoing violations that have turned into daily aggression against Lebanon's sovereignty, disregarding the ceasefire mechanism and the efforts of the Mechanism for Monitoring the Ceasefire. The LAF command condemns these assaults, particularly the most recent one, which occurred on the eve of the holidays, clearly indicating the enemy's intent to obstruct our nation's recovery and benefit from the favorable circumstances available. In this context, the LAF command notes that, immediately upon the Israeli enemy's announcement of its threats, it began coordinating with the Mechanism for Monitoring the Ceasefire to prevent the assaults, while patrols were dispatched to several sites for inspection despite the enemy's refusal of the proposal. The LAF command reaffirms its commitment to implementing Resolution 1701 and the ceasefire agreement, emphasizing that the Israeli enemy's continued violations of the agreement and its refusal to cooperate with the Mechanism for Monitoring the Ceasefire serve only to undermine the role of the committee and the LAF, potentially leading the military institution to suspend cooperation with the Mechanism regarding site inspections. In parallel, the LAF faces challenges with determination and resolve, continuing to carry out its complex missions to establish state authority over all its territories and ensure the security of Lebanon and its citizens, based on its sacred national duty, which remains an absolute priority regardless of the difficulties encountered.
