Following an armed altercation that occurred on June 28, 2025, in Hourtaala - Baalbek, a LAF unit, supported by a patrol from the Intelligence Directorate, raided the residences of several individuals involved in the incident. They arrested the citizen (AA.M.) and seized a large quantity of materials used in the production of Captagon, a handgun, military ammunition, and a sum of counterfeit money.
The seized items were handed over, and an investigation with the arrestee began under the supervision of the competent judicial authorities.

Tuesday, 29 July 2025 The LAF Command - Directorate of Orientation issued the following statement: On July 29, 2025, while a vehicle containing a Lebanese citizen and a Syrian was passing near a military border observation point in the town of Matraba – Al Qasr, they exited the vehicle and opened fire towards the town. They did not comply with the warnings from the observation point personnel and attempted to leave the area, trying to run over the soldiers, who were forced to fire back, resulting in the death of the Lebanese citizen and the injury of the Syrian. The investigation was initiated with the arrestees under the supervision of the relevant judicial authorities to uncover the circumstances of the incident.
