The Shocking Reason Sami Isn't Getting Involved in Johnny's DAYS Trial
Fans were thrilled when Alison Sweeney recently brought Sami back to Days of Our Lives, twice. The first time was to console Johnny, who learned the horrible story of his conception. The second was when she came back to Salem to pay her final respects to the late John Black. Outside of the soap, and when she wasn't working on a Hallmark film, Sweeney had great fun appearing on LEGO Masters Jr. Now, she's got another return to Salem booked, and she opened up about what Sami's going to be up to. Sweeney Went Home Sweeney told TV Line that she had learned a lot about LEGOs when appearing on the fun competition show. But when asked if she'd ever been in a Hallmark Christmas film that involved LEGOs, she remarked, 'You know, I have never heard of one, but that is a great idea.' She also stated that she was working on a few Hallmark films to be released in 2026, noting that she was excited for them to premiere. The conversation then turned to DAYS and her August 4 return. She revealed, 'I have a few more episodes in this return, and another return coming up in a couple of months. It's always fun to go back to that show.' She stated that she truly loves playing her beloved character, as well as seeing the cast and crew whom she regards as family. 'So it is like going home,' she noted. Sami Would Make Things Worse Sami has been noticeably absent from Salem, even though her son, Johnny (Carson Boatman), is on trial for shooting EJ (Dan Feuerriegel). When asked why she has not been included in the story, she remarked, 'I would just cause problems if I got involved in that.' She further added, 'I would make it worse. And everyone agreed. [Laughs] I would just stir up more trouble!' The conversation changed again, asking about what else she has going on. She explained that she came up with some ideas that she pitched to Hallmark that included other characters she hasn't played yet. She enjoys the challenge of 'finding other ways to tell stories,' and happily remarked that she's going to Spain soon to shoot a couple of films. 'That was so fun and fresh to do,' she happily noted. General Hospital's Kirsten Storm Announces Extended Break as Maxie, ‘Incredible' Storyline in Her Absence
General Hospital vet Kirsten Storms is taking an extended, months-long break from the role of Maxie, as she relocates homes from Los Angeles, Calif. to Tennessee. In fact, she has already taped her final scenes of 2025. More from TVLine Casting News: Josh Segarra Joins Doc Martin Adaptation, Marcia Gay Harden's Netflix Gig and More Casting News: Brilliant Minds Adds 2, LEGO Masters Jr. Names Host and More Eva Pilgrim Exits GMA3 to Anchor Inside Edition, Co-Host DeMarco Morgan Also Out Storms shared the news in an Instagram video that, she joked, was her 'longwindedly explaining that I'm taking a break and moving to Tennessee.' Storms at this moment is not playing Maxie, due to scheduling conflicts — Nicole Paggi has once again stepped in as a recast — but she next will be seen on-camera in mid-August, before her months-long break kicks in. Storms explains that she spoke with GH boss Frank Valentini back in March 'about my reasons for wanting to move — and my desire to not leave the show,' but instead return to the role of Maxie once she and her 11-year-old daughter Harper are settled in in Tennessee. 'Now, when you approach a job like this, they can always be like, 'Forget it, I will let you out of your contract if you're going to leave the state,'' she notes. 'GH did not do that, which was kind of amazing, because I also asked for some time off.' Storms says that in late June, 'I had my final taping day for the year,' though 'it's possible I will be back in December, maybe November,' to resume the role of Maxie. In the meantime, 'I promise you the storyline they have going on until my return to Port Charles is kind of incredible,' she teased. 'You guys are going to freak out, actually. I can't wait to see the comments online about that!'
