Oppn wants to divide us on caste, religious lines: Chirag

Patna: LJP (RV) chief Chirag Paswan on Saturday alleged that a conspiracy has been hatched to create an atmosphere of fear in the state by executing incidents of crime so that investors don't come to Bihar and give employment to the youth. Addressing the Jan Sankalp Mahasabha organised by his party at Polo Ground in Munger, the Union minister attacked the opposition for dividing the society on religious and caste lines. Without taking names, he targeted RJD leader Tejashwi Prasad Yadav, Congress MP Rahul Gandhi and former CM of Uttar Pradesh Akhilesh Yadav. "A pair of two boys was formed in UP but they could not do anything there. Now one of them has come to Bihar and is forming a pair," Chirag said and appealed to the public to be cautious of such people. "If you support me, I promise to make a developed and self-reliant Bihar for you," he said and added that attempts were made to break his party and family and even throw him out of the house to break Chirag. "Now they want to finish me and threaten to bomb me. But I am not the one to either bend or break." Referring to the Lalu-Rabri regime in Bihar, the Hajipur MP said, "This is the time to fix responsibility on those under whose regime, people sent their children outside Bihar for education and employment and settled there. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Redefine Your Future with a Top Online MBA SRM Online Enquire Now Undo We call them migrants," he said and alleged that the opposition always talked about castes to divide the society. "We are here to chart an important course to make Bihar first, Bihari first. The assembly polls in a few months will decide our next five years. We have already lost many such five years in the 1990s and that's why Bihar is at the lower rung of many indices in the country. We have to make Bihar first, but the opposition will try to derail us. Ask them why they could not make Bihar a developed state during their rule in the 1990s," he said. "They (opposition) want to keep us divided on religious and caste lines as they know once the Bihar people become educated, their political shop will be shut. That's why they want to finish Chirag. I will do what I say and people of the state will get employment not only in the state but in their villages itself," Chirag said. "Woh jante hain ki jis din Bihari jaat-paat aur majhab se uthkar ek ho gaya to desh aur duniya ko rasta dikhane ka kaam karega'. That's why some political parties dislike me," he said. LJP(RV) MP from Samastipur, Sambhavi Choudhary, urged the people to take a pledge to take Bihar to newer heights. Khagaria MP Rajesh Verma said the LJP(RV) has a new M-Y combination of Mahila and Yuva. "We will not rest till making Chirag the CM of Bihar," he said. Jamui MP and Chirag's brother-in-law Arun Bharti said Bihar needs a young leader who can lead the state for the next two decades.

Union Min Chirag Paswan questions role of Bihar police following back-to-back murders in state

PATNA: Union Minister and LJP (RV) chief Chirag Paswan on Saturday made a veiled attack on Bihar government following recent killings of businessmen in the state. Chirag commented on X, 'How many more murders will Biharis face now? It is beyond understanding what the responsibility of the Bihar Police is.' Chirag made the scathing remarks after the recent killing of prominent businessman Gopal Khemka, followed by the murder of a grocery trader Vikram Jha and the murder of sand dealer Ramakant Yadav. Three murders took place at short intervals in Patna district. Before Chirag, LJP (RV) Khagaria MP Rajesh Verma had alleged that law and order in Bihar had collapsed under the present dispensation, prompting sharp reaction from JD (U) leader and Bihar minister Maheshwar Hazari, who asked Chirag to clarify whether he wanted to remain in the alliance or not.

RJD poster labels Tejashwi as ‘true Bihari', targets Chirag

1 2 Patna: A poster near the residence of RJD leader and former CM Rabri Devi in Patna has sparked controversy by proclaiming that her son, former deputy CM Tejashwi Prasad Yadav , is the "real (shudh desi) Bihari", while branding LJP(RV) chief and Union minister Chirag Paswan as an "outsider". The poster appeared just a day after a rare, cordial encounter between the two young leaders at the home of Manish Kumar of Pandey Gangot in Nawada district who was martyred in Kargil, Jammu & Kashmir, on Saturday. Tejashwi and Chirag hugged and exchanged pleasantries during the meeting. The poster, put up by a woman RJD functionary, also mocked CM Nitish Kumar and his deputy Samrat Choudhary, depicting them placing a crown on Chirag's head. The caption read: "Mungerilal ke haseen sapne" (Mungerilal's pleasant dreams). The poster also highlighted the number of assembly seats JD(U) won in 2015 (72) and 2020 (43), appearing to hint at a declining trend. As Tejashwi is the declared CM candidate for the RJD and the face of the Mahagathbandhan, the party appears reluctant to accept any emerging young leader as a challenger within Bihar. The poster seems to be a response to Chirag's recent meeting with Nitish and the remarks of LJP(RV) MP Arun Bharti, who wrote on X, "Toofano se ladkar hamne Bihar sawara hai, ab tumhare hathon mein bhavishya hamara hai." (We shaped Bihar by fighting storms; now our future lies in your hands) Political analysts interpret the poster war as an indication of the changing dynamics in Bihar's political arena with young leaders such as Tejashwi, Chirag, Jan Suraaj Party's Prashant Kishor and BJP's Samrat Choudhary emerging as key players. Chirag, who consistently says that he is in politics for the welfare of Bihar and its people, has been projected by his party as a future chief ministerial candidate. However, after his meeting with Nitish on Tuesday, he said, "There is no vacancy for the top post in Bihar and the JD(U) supremo will remain the NDA CM face in the assembly election later this year."

Chirag meets Dy CM to discuss state's development

Patna: BJP neta and deputy CM Vijay Kumar Sinha held a meeting with LJP (RV) chief Chirag Paswan on Monday and discussed the upcoming Bihar assembly elections . The meeting was held shortly after Chirag met CM Nitish Kumar during the day. LJP (RV) through a post on X on Tuesday said, "Last night, the deputy CM had a meeting with party president and Union minister Chirag Paswan. During the meeting, detailed discussions were held over the all-round development of Bihar and the upcoming assembly elections. " The BJP described the meeting as a "courtesy call." However, this assumes significance since it took place shortly after Chirag made a statement about BJP minister Vijay Shah's comments on Col Sofiya Qureshi. As the city roads are turning into poster galleries much before the assembly elections, on Tuesday some new 'creatives' sprung up at the city's intersections. "Ho gayi mulaqat, mila gaya aashirvad", "Chacha ko hai is bhatije par pura bharosa, Bihar ki surat aur seerat dono badlega (Uncle has complete trust on his nephew. He will change the face of Bihar)." The posters referred to Chirag's meeting with CM Nitish Kumar on Monday. LJP (RV) described the posters as the expression of "personal sentiments" by the party workers. "Every party worker wants his party chief to reach the pinnacle of power, but Chirag Ji has already announced that the next assembly elections will be fought under Nitish," party spokesperson Rajesh Bhatt told reporters on Tuesday. Chirag has expressed his desire to be active in Bihar's politics. "I am a Bihari first. The reason for my entering into politics has also been Bihar and Biharis," Chirag told the reporters after meeting the CM. He also said that he wanted to be back to Bihar at the earliest. Prior to this, Chirag's party announced it would fight the next elections with an "independent identity." LJP (RV) sources said the party leadership is miffed at the way BJP and JD(U)—two key NDA allies in the state—have been dividing seats among themselves and then sparing some for the other allies from their respective quotas.
