Free rides for seafarers on MRT-3, LRT-2 on Wednesday, June 25, 2025

Rail systems in Metro Manila will offer free rides to seafarers on Wednesday, June 25, in celebration of the Day of the Filipino Seafarer. According to the Department of Transportation (DOTr), both the Metro Rail Transit Line 3 (MRT-3) and the Light Rail Transit Line 2 (LRT-2) will offer free rides to seafarers on Wednesday. The free trips will be from 5:30 a.m. until the end of operations of the MRT3, and from 7 a.m. to 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. for the LRT2. 'Pinapaalalahanan po ang lahat ng marino na ipakita lamang ang inyong valid na Seafarer's Record Book (SRB), Seafarer's Identity Document (SID), o kaya's Seafarer's Identification Booklet (SIB) para makapag-avail ng libreng sakay,' the advisory read.
