Princess Charlotte has 'new hobby' – and she's taking after her aunt

More info Princess Charlotte appears to be taking a leaf out of her aunt Pippa Middleton's book as the 10-year-old royal has picked up running as her latest pastime, according to Prince William. During a recent investiture ceremony, the Prince of Wales, 43, shared with Olympic champion Keely Hodgkinson that his daughter is keen on the 400 metres and hurdles. Keely said: "The Prince told me his daughter is doing the 400 metres and the hurdles and that she did watch me in Paris. He told me that he remembers me winning and wished to be there to see it himself." While her mother, Princess Kate, also enjoys a good run, it's Kate's sister and Charlotte's aunt, Pippa Matthews, who's known for her enduring love for the sport since childhood. Pippa began her running journey at prep school at the tender age of eight, describing running as a "constant light" throughout her life. "The pre and post-race adrenaline has never left me and to this day I still get the wonderful full-body endorphin feeling about a race or challenge I embark on.", "The foundation and love of running I acquired as a child have proved invaluable." Rumour also has it that Charlotte's elder brother, 11-year-old Prince George, is similarly inclined towards running and even participates in triathlons. It emerged last year that George, William's eldest son, had developed a passion for triathlons, participating in several events while attending Lambrook School, reports the Express. Meanwhile, Prince Louis, the youngest of the Cambridge children, is thought to be more inclined towards rugby, with Princess Kate, previously saying that the seven-year-old is "mad" about the sport.

While the rest of the family was honoring the occasion with more formal appearances, George, Charlotte and Louis were back in the classroom. According to lip reader Nicola Hickling, who spoke with Hello!, William and Kate kept the kids engaged during the flyover by turning it into a fun guessing game. Even Queen Camilla reportedly joined in as William identified different aircrafts for his family. 'That's a UKMFTS,' he said at one point. 'That's similar to the Lancaster, I think.' Meanwhile, the official royal family Instagram shared a stunning photo roundup from the events. The post kicked off with a dramatic shot of King Charles saluting beneath a sea of Union Jack flags, followed by snaps of Princess Anne in conversation, Duchess Sophie smiling and a rare photo of Prince Edward, Duke of Kent.
