He was also cited in the county for speeding in March of this year. In the careless driving citation on Feb. 7, 2023, police said Hayes was operating his vehicle inattentively and unaware of the surroundings. On March 1 of this year, Hayes was cited in Clearwater when he was clocked going 84 mph in a 55 mph zone, according to court records. He was ticketed for $281 and elected to complete a driving course. Hayes, a touted football prospect, moved to Miami-Dade County to play for the Hurricanes before the 2024 season. In Miami-Dade County, Hayes was cited for racing on the highway on Sept. 8, 2024. Hayes was ticketed for racing more than 90 mph on SW Eighth Street and SW 92nd Avenue. He was also cited for driving with an improperly displayed or obscured tag during the same stop. The cases were dismissed in February. After providing proof of compliance, the cases were dismissed, according to court records. On March 29, 28 days after being cited for speeding in Pinellas County, he was ticketed for speeding in Miami-Dade. He was clocked doing 80 mph in a 45 mph zone on US 1 and SW 171st Street, according to court records. Hayes has pled not guilty to the offense, according to court records.
