Telangana factory tragedy: For many, desperate search for their missing kin still continues

A distraught woman at the govt hospital in Patancheru on Tuesday HYDERABAD: Distraught and restless, several families continued their search for their loved ones for the second day at the govt hospital in Patancheru. Young and old relatives were seen rushing from one corner to the other hoping to find some information on their missing kin. Among them was Laxman Mukhiya who had urgently flown in from Patna to look for his brother, Lakshmi Mukhiya. When TOI found him, he was giving his blood sample for DNA testing. "Officials have found a body with two thumbs. That could be my brother. But since the body is completely charred we cannot be sure without a DNA test," said Laxman. Lakshmi was an operator in production unit. The 15-year-old son of M Praveen Kumar, who worked as deputy general manager at the firm, was also seen making his way through the crowd - along with his relatives - to find his father. "We have been going between the accident site and the hospital since Monday evening. But there's no trace of him," said M Srinivas, Kumar's brother-in-law.
