Adam Hattaway & The Haunters Release New Track & VideoTwo Roads + Release Pre-orders For Upcoming Album Hot Variety

Press Release – Adam Hattaway and The Haunters Adam Hattaway has covered a lot of ground. From the indie noise of his debut album, to the lo-fi, country, soul of his double LP Rooster, and the dark, stripped-back ballads of last year's High Horse. The forthcoming album, Hot Variety, brings all these elements together. Recorded to tape, Hot Variety is a fully analog affair. Hattaway reunites with his band The Haunters, but with an entirely different arrangements are stripped back, the sound is dry and unadorned, the playing is looser and captures the immediacy of the moment. Today, Adam Hattaway and The Haunters release the second single from the upcoming album: Two Roads. One of the darker tracks on the record, it was partially written in Adam's sleep and takes inspiration from the haunting true story behind Heavenly Creatures. Hattaway's acoustic guitar is played with aggressive abandon paired with ghostly layers of Hammond organ and bowed guitar. The track evokes the unsettling feeling of being stuck at a crossroads – right on the edge of something. The accompanying music video by Max Liautaud and Gina Johns, features the band performing live in the studio, interspersed with striking birds eye footage of co-writers Adam and Elmore sprinting along gravel roads towards one another. Hot Variety is out September 5th on all digital platforms, with a very limited vinyl release (100 copies) via Leather Jacket Records. Pre-orders are available now. Adam Hattaway & The Haunters Release New Single + Stop Motion Video Ted Danson

Ted Danson seems like a nice guy — but this track isn't about him. Adam Hattaway returns with The Haunters to release the first single from their upcoming album Hot Variety. Ted Danson is three minutes of rock 'n' roll lost at the disco. It all started when a big ol' organ — one that took up half the car — was hauled into the hills of Ōtiake, just to use its built-in drum machine. That beat lays the foundation for a swampy Fender Rhodes bubbling beneath busted guitars, pounding congas, signature Haunters fuzz, and, inexplicably, a vacuum cleaner — all captured on glorious 2' 16-track tape. The release is accompanied by a meticulously chaotic and slightly disturbing stop -motion video by Maya Templer and Jack O'Connell (Rough On Rats) starring a surreal lineup of Bob Dylan, Richard Nixon and yep… Ted Danson. Hot Variety is out September 5th on all streaming platforms and a very limited release of 100 vinyl via Leather Jacket Records.

Pearly* Announce New Album, 'Not So Sweet', And Share New Single/Video 'Superglue'

Leather Jacket Records, Pinacolada Records in collaboration with Flying NunRecords are very pleased to announce the upcoming debut offering from Ōtepoti/Dunedin band Pearly*, ' Not So Sweet ' — out on August 29th, and available digitally and on glow-in-the-dark vinyl LP or Exclusive "Flying Nun Black" vinyl LP. Pearly's music is largely guitar driven alt-rock with influences from Ōtepoti's current noisy scene mixed in with its own tendencies, with songs full of contrasting space and simplicity with explosive pay-offs. Today Pearly* release the album's first single ' Superglue ' alongside a self-produced music video to accompany it. ' Superglue ' is a heavy guitar driven power pop track melding together big Britpop melodies with early emo instrumental influences. Pearly* are an alt-rock band fronted by dual songwriters Joel Field (guitar/vocals) and Phaedra Love (bass/vocals), who are joined by Ryan Hill (guitars) and Josh Nicholls (drums). Formed in Ōtepoti in 2023, Pearly* quickly recorded and released their debut EP in 2024. The Pearly* EP was self-released until it was picked up by American indie record label called MPLS who ran a limited pressing of the 7' vinyl. Pearly* then went on to tour and promote the Pearly* EP, and in the process wrote a whole new batch of songs which were then recorded by Aoteoroa music legend Nick Roughan of Skeptics and Bailterspace fame. Through growing word of mouth, and after a couple of notable live performances and opening slots for Voom, Office Dog, and Twine, as well playing at the recent Junk Fest, Pearly* signed with Leather Jacket Records and Pinacolada Records in collaboration with Flying Nun Records. Their debut album ' Not So Sweet ' will be released on LP in both black vinyl and glow-in-the-dark vinyl variants, and also digitally on August 29th. Pearly* are hitting the road in Aotearoa with fellow heavy-hitters, Cruelly this June and July, with thanks to Eyegum Scenic Tours. Aotearoa's Ringlets Share New Single & Video 'I Was On That Roof Once'

Today, Ringlets share the bewilderingly beautiful third single, 'I Was on That Roof Once', from their soon-approaching album The Lord Is My German Shepherd (Time for Walkies), set for release on June 27th via Flying Nun Records and Leather Jacket Records. Following up the world-weary 'Heavenly Wheel' and blistering 'Street Massage', 'I Was on That Roof Once' showcases the varied sound of the band's upcoming sophomore album. Glistening guitar meets the ticking drums of Arlo Grey and gorgeous harmonies - courtesy of vocalists Arabella Poulsen, László Reynolds & Leith Towers - with a not-so-subtle introduction of the LP's title in the track's mystifying opening line. About the song and its music video, Leith shares ''I Was on That Roof Once' circles the drain of sincerity, belief, and our better natures gone a bit mouldy. The video features door dancing, a lost Irish tradition we've likely misremembered, pitched somewhere between ceremony and bluff. It's a nod to ritual, balance, and the ways we try not to spill ourselves.' To be released on June 27th via Flying Nun Records and Leather Jacket Records, The Lord Is My German Shepherd (Time for Walkies) is the band's shimmering follow-up to their distinct eponymous debut in 2023 and a vibrant expression of their singular song craft. Produced by Ringlets - Arabella Poulsen (bass & vocals), Arlo Grey (drums), László Reynolds (guitar & vocals) and Leith Towers (lead-vocalist) - in Auckland at The Lab alongside Michael Logie (The Mint Chicks) and mixed by Isaac Keating at Abbey Road Studios, The Lord Is My German Shepherd (Time for Walkies) conjures mystic visions; takes raucous, unkempt yet solely committed turns, twists, and tiptoes delicately between the absurd and the divine. The Lord Is My German Shepherd (Time for Walkies) is available for pre-order now on Translucent Green Vinyl with Obi Strip and on Exclusive Flying Nun Black. Pre-order or Pre-save here. About Ringlets: Ragingly bright post-punk quartet Ringlets emerged from Aotearoa's musical ether in 2021; carving out space with their distinct blend of delicate wit, grit and evident sonic technicality. With a highly durable, machine-tested rhythm section (Arabella Poulsen, Arlo Grey) and two of Auckland's leading lyrical & melodic consultants (László Reynolds, Leith Towers), Ringlets have been fast-building a solid reputation. Catching the eye of former Pitchfork editor Chris Ott, Autumn 2023 saw the band release their eponymous debut under Ott's label Mutual Skies. Produced by De Stevens (Office Dog, Erny Belle) and the band themselves, the 10-track album is a riotous and tightly sporadic introduction to this exciting musical offering from Tāmaki Makaurau. Since then, the four-piece has been sharpening their toolkit with numerous performances across Aotearoa, supporting heavy-hitting internationals such as UK indie-rockers Sorry, and seminal punk force The Damned as well as stand-out festival performances at The Others Way, Junk Fest & Newtown Festival. Ringlets Share New Single/Video ‘Street Massage'

Press Release – Flying Nun Records Photo Credit: Lola Fountain-Best / Supplied Today, Ringlets share the blistering new single 'Street Massage' from their upcoming album The Lord Is My German Shepherd (Time for Walkies), which will be released on June 27th via Flying Nun Records and Leather Jacket Records. Following up the slyly-subdued 'Heavenly Wheel', 'Street Massage' leaps and bounds down crunching gravel guitar and traverses vast thunderous rhythms, stepping over shimmering strings – halting for the stop-sign stentorian vocal delivery of Leith Towers. Leith shares, 'The song is about a low-wage masseur who plies his trade on the streets of Point Chevalier. It was originally about the International Dysphagia Diet Standardisation Initiative (IDDSI), and the plight of a clinician in trying to encourage support workers to adhere to mealtime plans and feeding safety protocols. As the song evolved, it became a reflection on the broader struggles faced by low-wage workers in care roles. It highlights the emotional and physical toll of jobs that often go unnoticed and undervalued, despite the immense responsibility they demand. The masseur in the song is an allegory for the overlooked nurturers.' Accompanying the song is a music video centred on a staunch delivery from singer Leith, backed up by a posse of local battlers. The posse includes members of the bands Dale Kerrigan, Cruelly, Cold Ceiling, Mullbrain, Awning, and Blunt Dog. The nocturnal scenes of under-construction Point Chevalier are stitched together with psychotic flashes of forgotten video games of the 90s, philological imagery, and hand-drawn horoscopes from 17th-century England. The Lord Is My German Shepherd (Time for Walkies) is the band's shimmering follow-up to their distinct eponymous debut in 2023 and a vibrant expression of their singular song craft. The Lord Is My German Shepherd (Time for Walkies) is available for pre-order now on Transparent Green Vinyl or Exclusive 'Flying Nun Black' Vinyl (limited to 100 copies).
