Edmonton Lego convention attracts 100 builders from across Canada

The Northern Bricks Lego event at Edmonton's Glengarry Community League hall on May 25, 2025. Hundreds of people filled a northside community hall this weekend, showing off their Lego skills. Northern Bricks set up shop at the Glengarry Community League hall for its second year. Sam Malmberg, an organizer of the event, said Sunday people from across Canada have come to the convention to display their creations and show their building skills. 'Edmonton has a thriving hobby scene in general,' Malmberg told CTV News Edmonton. 'Our local Lego club, NALUG (Northern Alberta Lego Users Group), has been around for 25 years, so this is their first kind of push, making a real convention that everybody can come and experience.' More than 100 builders and 217 builds took part in Northern Bricks. Malmberg 217 builds here packed into this tiny, little community hall to come check out. Malmberg said the event will likely be seeking a larger venue for next year's event.

The hilarious and heart-warming story of an American widow (Diane Keaton) who finds unexpected love with a man (Brendan Gleeson) living off-grid on Hampstead Heath when they take on the land developers who want to destroy his home. Manorlands Hospice Support group The quiz and supper evening at the Black Horse, Grassington, raised £1,400 for Manorlands. Special thanks to Aggi and the staff, people who gave raffle prizes, and everyone who came and enjoyed a lovely evening in support of our local hospice.
