Leigh-Anne Pinnock's huge career move as she urges fans 'please stay with me'
Leigh-Anne is gearing up to release her first solo album (Image: Getty Images) Leigh-Anne Pinnock has asked fans to "stay with me" as she teased new solo music and hinted she has now left her record label to become an independent artist. The 33-year-old former Little Mix star took to social media to post pics of herself in the studio as she prepares to release new tracks. The ex-girlband member was signed to Warner Music Group as a solo artist shortly after the band split in 2022. But following reports she "failed to impress" Warner with her solo music, who then "wouldn't pay for a music video", it appears Leigh-Anne is now working with Virgin Music Group, who say they are the world's leading partner to independent artists. In an Instagram clip teasing her new music, Leigh-Anne wrote: "Control looks good on me" as Virgin posted in the comments with a string of heart emojis. Leigh-Anne replied back: "Let's go." In another smiling selfie she said it was "what freedom looks like". In her newest grid post, the singer shared more behind-the-scenes photos working on her new album and told fans: "Thinking about how much I can't wait to release this now - we're so fricken [sic] close." Giving fans an update in a voice note to fans on the Discord platform, the Daily Mail reported her as saying: "Seriously guys I've been wanting to tell so much what was happening, but yeah obviously the process of changing over has been... yeah that's what has obviously taken time. But yeah obviously we are here - need you guys to stay with me, it is coming. But I just wanted you guys to know it is going to be a Leigh-Anne summer and y'all better get ready." Leigh-Anne said this selfie was 'what freedom looks like' (Image: Instagram) In March last year the Mirror revealed Warner Records had refused to fork out for a video shoot to accompany her track Stealin Love - after her previous solo singles Don't Say Love and My Love got only a lukewarm response. Insiders claimed the singer had to put some of her own money into her solo career after failing to get the funds she needed. One said: "There was so much excitement around Leigh-Anne's solo career, but that seemed to wane after the first two tracks." They added: "Warner heavily backed Don't Say Love for her debut but were disappointed with how it charted. The same was true with My Love. There's no doubt that Leigh-Anne is a huge talent and solo success can take time to build. "But lately she's struggled to get the financial backing she hoped for – to the extent that she has even contributed herself to the campaign. And now her latest track, Stealin Love, is being released with no video." The Sun reported Leigh-Anne's debut album is "as good as complete now" and reported a source as saying: "Now it's all about planning for the year ahead. She is hugely proud of the music she's put out already, but she has taken a new direction when it comes to this record. Her debut single, Don't Say Love, is unlikely to make it on to the tracklist." File Photo by Sven Hoogerhuis/UPI | License Photo May 19 (UPI) -- Jesy Nelson, a singer and former member of British girl group Little Mix, welcomed twins at 31 weeks and five days, she announced on Instagram Sunday. She and boyfriend Zion Foster are now parents to daughters Ocean Jade Nelson-Foster and Story Monroe Nelson-Foster. Nelson had been in the hospital since March after complications that arose because the twins were sharing a placenta. She said Sunday that the newborns, who are now in NICU, are "healthy and fighting strong." "So... Our beautiful baby girls decided to come at 31 weeks plus five days. It all happened so quickly, but we are so blessed that they are here with us, healthy and fighting strong!" she said in her Instagram post. "We've never felt more in love." The singer stepped away from Little Mix, which also included Perrie Edwards, Leigh-Anne Pinnock and Jade Thirwall, in 2020, noting that "the constant pressure of being in a girl group and living up to expectations is very hard." "I need to spend some time with the people I love, doing things that make happy," she said at the time. The group, which was created on The X Factor U.K. in 2011, decided to press pause on their work together in 2022.

"I'm very proud of That's Showbiz Baby! as a body of work and can't wait to share it with the world. To be able to perform the album live later this year is also a dream come true. See you all on tour!" She was placed into girl group Little Mix after she auditioned for The X Factor in 2011, joining Leigh-Anne Pinnock, Perrie Edwards and Jesy Nelson, with the group going on to become the first and only girl group to ever win the UK series. The group went on hiatus in December 2021 following a hugely successful career with multiple chart-topping hits like 'Wings' and 'Shout Out to My Ex'. Jade Thirwall, who shortened her stage name to 'Jade' upon launching her solo career, won the BRIT Award for best pop act this year and performed her hit song 'Angel of My Dreams', which samples Sandie Shaw's Eurovision winning song 'Puppet on a String'. The song was named a top ten song of last year by The Guardian, DORK, Clash and NME and has accumulated over 100 million streams to date. The music video has been streamed 12 million times on YouTube, while her performance of the song at the BRIT Awards has been watched over two million times. She is set to perform at a variety of festivals this summer including Glastonbury, All Points East, Mighty Hoopla, TRNSMT and the Montreux Jazz festival in Switzerland.

Leigh-Anne Pinnock teases new music as she shares selfie from the studio: 'You better have missed me'
Leigh-Anne Pinnock has teased new music as she took to her Instagram Stories on Wednesday. The former Little Mix star, 32, looked fresh-faced and glowing in a makeup-free selfie, wearing a cosy grey hoodie and headphones while seated inside what appeared to be a recording studio. Flashing a peace sign at the camera, she hinted that something big is coming, writing: 'Oh guys I'm so ready. You better have missed me.' Earlier this year, it was reported that the singer was just weeks away from making her return to music after taking some time out following the release of her EP, No Hard Feelings. A source told The Sun: 'Leigh-Anne's album is as good as complete and now it's all about planning for the year ahead. 'She is hugely proud of the music she's put out already, but she has taken a new direction when it comes to this record. The former Little Mix star, 32, looked fresh-faced and glowing in a makeup-free selfie, wearing a cosy grey hoodie and headphones while seated inside what appeared to be a recording studio 'Her debut single, Don't Say Love, is unlikely to make it on to the tracklist.' Last year, Leigh-Anne released a new solo single, Stealin Love, however her record label allegedly 'wouldn't pay for a music video'. At the time, the singer announced that she would be dropping five new songs 'that fit together in their own world'. But insiders revealed her label Warner Records did not approve a video to accompany the release after she 'failed to impress' with solo singles Don't Say Love and My Love. Leigh-Anne reportedly had to put her own money into her solo career after not securing the 'financial backing she hoped for'. A source told The Mirror: 'There was so much excitement around Leigh-Anne's solo career but that seemed to wane after the first two tracks. 'Warner heavily backed Don't Say Love for her debut but were disappointed with how it charted. The same was true with My Love. 'But lately she's struggled to get the financial backing she hoped for – to the extent that she has even contributed herself to the campaign. And now her latest track, Stealin Love, is being released with no video.' Leigh-Anne launched her solo career in June 2023 after Little Mix went in their separate directions. The band announced their split in December 2021, when they revealed the trio would be taking a break following 10 'amazing' years together. Since the split, bandmate Leigh-Anne has embarked on a successful solo career, and even received Glamour's Musician of the Year award last October.
