Sonal Vengurlekar to join the cast of Jamai No 1
Sonal Vengurlekar A new twist is about to unfold in Jamai No. 1, which features Simaran Kaur and Abhishek Malik as the lead couple. Joining the cast is Sonal Vengurlekar , last seen in Lekar Hum Deewana Dil , who steps into the role of Saili, Abhishek's childhood best friend. Speaking about her character, Sonal says, 'I play the hero's childhood friend, much like Rahul and Anjali in Kuch Kuch Hota Hai. After being separated for years, they finally reunite, only for her to discover that he's now married. While he still sees her as just a close friend, she's secretly in love with him. She ends up staying at his house and tries various ways to win his heart.' Given the direction of the storyline, it seems her character might take a negative turn. When asked about it, she says coyly, 'I can't reveal much about what's coming next. But it's definitely an interesting plot, one that I hope the audience will enjoy watching unfold.' Joining a show midway isn't easy, but stepping in for a cameo can be even tougher. Sonal elaborates, 'It truly is a challenge. When you come in mid-way, you have to work extra hard to build chemistry with your co-actors and connect with 0an audience that's already invested in the original cast. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Cost Of Amusement Park Equipment From Mexico Might Surprise You - See Tips Amusement Park Equipment | search ads Click Here Undo But with a cameo, by the time you start building those connections, your track is already wrapping up. A lot of the time, you're left wondering whether it's even worth forming those bonds when your role only lasts for a month or so. ' She adds, 'A few years ago, even a cameo could stretch for six months. But now, the entire show might not even run that long. In my last two shows, Doree and Lekar Hum Deewana Dil, my track ended within a month and a half. So, I've started treating TV more like OTT — step in, play the character, and move on. Unless you're part of a show from the beginning, there's little emotional investment.'
