Scoot Launches New Routes To Chiang Rai, Okinawa And Tokyo Haneda

Airbus A320 Scoot, the low-cost arm of Singapore Airlines, has announced new flight services to Chiang Rai in Thailand, Okinawa and Tokyo (Haneda) in Japan. These routes will progressively commence between December 2025 and March 2026, aiming to cater to growing demand for travel during the year-end and new year holidays. Flights to Chiang Rai will begin on January 1 2026, with five weekly services operated by the Embraer E190-E2 aircraft. Okinawa will see thrice-weekly flights starting December 15 2025, on the Airbus A320 family, while daily flights to Tokyo (Haneda) will launch from March 1 2026, using Boeing 787 Dreamliners. One-way economy fares start from RM380 to Chiang Rai and RM590 to Okinawa and Tokyo (Haneda), inclusive of taxes. Boeing 787 Dreamliners With these additions, Scoot's network will encompass 76 destinations across 18 countries and territories in Asia-Pacific, the Middle East and Europe. The airline will operate 111 weekly flights to Thailand and 45 weekly flights to Japan. Scoot is also increasing frequencies on existing routes to support stronger travel demand. Bangkok flights will rise from 35 to 39 weekly from August 2025, Ipoh from 17 to 21 weekly from November and Chiang Mai from seven to 14 weekly by December 2025. In North Asia, flights to Tokyo (Narita) will increase from 12 to 14 weekly from October, Sapporo (Hokkaido) from four to seven weekly starting December, Taipei services will rise incrementally to 28 weekly by December, and Jeju flights will increase from five to seven weekly from January 2026. In Europe, services to Vienna will expand from three to four weekly from March 2026. Scoot Chief Executive Officer Leslie Thng said, 'We are thrilled to expand Scoot's network in Asia with new routes to Chiang Rai, Okinawa and Tokyo (Haneda), offering our customers even more travel options. In addition, the upcoming increase in services to some cities will support stronger demand for air travel during the year-end and new year holiday periods.'

The following routes will see more flights soon: Iloilo City, Philippines: from two to four flights weekly, starting June 6 Cebu City, Philippines: from seven to 10 flights weekly, starting June 24 Davao City, Philippines: from nine to 12 flights weekly, starting Aug 30 Perth, Australia: from 12 to 14 flights weekly, starting Aug 4 Sydney, Australia: from 10 to 14 flights weekly, starting Oct 5 Koh Samui, Thailand: from 21 to 25 flights weekly, starting June 24 Taipei, Taiwan: from five to daily flights, starting Aug 2 Seoul, South Korea (via Taipei): from five to daily flights, starting Aug 2 In March, Scoot ramped up services to various cities in Indonesia, including Jakarta. It increased passenger capacity to Bali, Yogyakarta, Taipei, and Tokyo. In April, it also increased flight frequency to Phu Quoc. 'Flight schedules are subject to government and regulatory approvals or changes,' Scoot stated. In March, Scoot CEO Leslie Thng told Channel News Asia they plan to add four to six new destinations for the budget airline. Scoot also shared plans to add 14 to 16 new planes.
