Next's 'slimming' denim jeans in three colours 'hold in all the right places'
The hunt for the perfect pair of denim jeans is over. Finding the right pair of jeans is no easy task. Fortunately, for anyone still struggling with their search, we know just where to shop. For fashion fans looking to complement their figure, Next's Lift, Slim And Shape Skinny Jeans are getting glowing reviews that suggest they "hold you in all the right places." Worried about any lumps and bumps? Then these £48 skinny-fit denims have been designed in a high-rise that has been fitted through the hips to the thighs, offering a "flattering" effect on the physique. The complementary design also features cleverly hidden support that provides a "sculpting" effect on the physique, while the high waistband has been designed to "contour" to the body, never digging in or being restrictive to wear. Crafted from a cotton-rich blend with added stretch for maximum comfort, they are finished with five pockets and the classic two-button fastening at the front. Another positive about the skinny-fit jeans is that they will make a versatile summer wardrobe staple. Pair with chunky trainers and a basic tee during the day, or with some chic heels, a cute blouse and a blazer for any fancy evenings events. Lift, Slim And Shape Skinny Jeans £48 Next Buy here Product Description As of writing, Next's Lift, Slim and Shape Skinny Jeans are available to buy in three colours - mid wash blue, inky blue denim and black, although some are selling fast. Designed in regular, petite and long lengths, sizes range from a 10 through to a 22. Looking to shop around for alternatives? Then New Look is another retailer worth checking out, as its Blue Lift & Shape Jenna Skinny Jeans offer a similar design for £24.99. Those unsure on the skinny-fit might prefer a different design, with Sainsbury's Tu Clothing's Dark Rinse Denim Sculpt Flared Jeans posing an alternative for £24. Meanwhile, Next's own denim jeans are getting glowing reviews, with each colourway garnering a 4.5 rating from fashion fans who say they "really do enhance your body figure" and that they are "the best on the market." One five-star review read: "I love these jeans, this is my fourth pair in this design. I have them in other colours too. Very comfortable to wear and make me look slimmer." A second delighted customer said: "These jeans are fab, they keep their shape and hold you in the right places. Super comfortable with the right amount of stretch." Fashion deal of the week In need of new trainers, but don't want to pay Skechers prices. Then these STQ Women's Slip-On Trainers are said to be "much better" than the famed brand. Even better, they are currently priced from just £30.99 on Amazon. With their slip-on style design and ultra-breathable mesh material, these trainers are said to be a fuss-free option for anyone who spends long periods of time on their feet, alongside anyone who suffers from foot pain issues such as plantar fasciitis. The flexible knitted material features an elastic cuff, making them easy to pop on and take off, while the wide fit fabric has been designed to make it feel like you are wearing nothing on your feet. Crafted with over 1,000 ventilation holes, they ensure that feet don't get to sweaty during wear, while the memory foam insole provides good arch support, making it feel "like walking on air". Available to buy in sizes three through to eight, shoppers can select from eight colours including black, grey and pink. However, it's worth noting that the £30.99 price-tag is available on the black colourway. With the STQ Trainers posing the cheapest price-tag, shoppers might be happy to hear that they have earned a 4.4 rating based on over 5,000 Amazon reviews that suggest they are "light as a feather" and "really comfortable". One delighted shopper said: "Super lightweight, comfortable and a fab colour pink. Much better all round than the Skechers I bought at four times the price! Your feet will love these." Someone else impressed with the design added: "Amazing jeans, I like the feel and structure, I would definitely recommend slim and shape they really do enhance your body figure." One shopper did leave a three-star review after finding that the fit didn't last over time, as they said: "Feel and fits great at first but then as the day goes on they get baggy." Although, the critique seemed rare, as another positive shopper said: "I've been buying Next Lift and Slim jeans for years now. They are truly the best on the market!"

‘My children were discriminated against': Mrs J blasts The Mommy Club
Mrs J accuses the show of sidelining her children. After the explosive first part of The Mommy Club Season 3 reunion, reality star Mrs J, real name Kabelo Jantjies, has taken to her social media platforms to rant about the show. In a lengthy Instagram post, Mrs J alleged that the production team discriminated against her children. She claimed that none of the scenes she filmed with her children were aired. 'Week in, week out, we all had hopes that the scene with my children would play, but it did not. No explanation, nothing. I really feel like my children were discriminated against from day one until the very last,' she wrote. Mrs J also expressed her dissatisfaction that her children were not invited to the reunion. She hinted that she did not complete filming the second part of the reunion, which is set to air this Saturday, 24 May. She added: 'As a mother, my number one role is to always and forever protect my kids, hence I couldn't finish the reunion. I was not going to sit there when my child was not invited without any solid reason or explanation. 'How do you explain to the child why they are not invited? But anyway, as unkind as it is, we move on. Hope you all enjoy part two of the reunion.' The Citizen sent questions to the production via MultiChoice. At the time of publication, a response had not been received. ALSO READ: 'It's time to put everything on the table': The Mommy Club ladies ready for explosive reunion Mrs J: 'I hope we can iron out our differences' The first part of The Mommy Club Season 3 reunion saw the ladies try to hash things out and exchange apologies here and there. In an interview before the reunion, Mrs J said she wanted to address all the things that were said behind her back. 'I would like to use the reunion as an opportunity to address what needs to be addressed fully. I couldn't believe some of the comments made behind my back. As mothers, I hope we can iron out our differences and see if there's a way forward,' she added. She came out guns blazing, confronting the ladies—especially Mrs Sande—for making fun of her ancestral gift. However, Mrs J also had to answer for herself when Vuyi confronted her about previous comments she had made about Pheladi, who was absent from the reunion. High tea joins the mile-high club
High tea from the Oyster Box Hotel on a flight by Lift from Durban to Cape Town Image: Frank Chemaly Oyster Box Hotel Where: 2 Lighthouse Rd, uMhlanga Open: Daily 2.30pm to 5pm Call: 031 514 5000 I received the most unusual invitation - high tea at 36 0000 feet. Yes the Oyster Box Hotel was piloting a promotion of high tea on a Lift flight from Durban to Cape Town. What a wonderful idea. And so instead of a predictably boring two-hour flight to Cape Town, where all you can do is try to take a nap and hope you don't wake up with drool down your shirt, we were entertained to something of a fun ceremony. Even the air stewards got into the act, no longer having to do their beef or chicken act as they wheel the trolley down the aisle. Treats on the plane - both savoury and sweet. I went for the green tea with jasmine which was delicious. For those who say they don't like green tea, they really should try this combination. The box on opening revals a lovely finger salmon sandwich on the hotel's signature health bread. I could have taken a loaf of that bread home if they would let me. And their signature cucumber and lemon cream cheese sandwich on turmeric bread. A Cape Malay-style snoek tartlet with apricot chutney was another little delicacy along with really lovely leek ricotta and gruyere quiche. All flavours I love. The high tea table at the Oytser Box Hotel with some decadent gatteaux in the foreground Image: Quinton meijer Then two lovely crisp macarons highlighted the sweet selection. One dark chocolate and mint, the other raspberry and white chocolate, along with a miniscone with strawberry compote and clotted cream, and a cheese scone with chive butter and mature cheddar. What a wonderful treat and a pleasant way to spend a flight. The two hour trip had never been more fun. But that was just for appetisers. The cheese board at high tea. Image: Quinton Meijer The welcoming table setting. Image: Quinton meijer Then on Monday the Glass Guy and I were treated to the real thing at the hotel itself. It's a lovely room - the old courtyard which was brought into the hotel as a sunken lounge in the last renovation. We relax in comfy cane chairs, the wine waiter soon topping us up with bubbles. The piano is playing mood music in the background. The cups and saucers are pretty pink florals by Royal Albert, the tables beautifully set with silver cutlery and starched napkins. Our waitress takes us through the buffet groaning with tempting goodies, and then the tea stand where the choice of teas is astounding - with peppermint, or chamomile, or Earl Grey. I choose a tea with French vanilla, and the Glass Guy one with almonds. The loose leaf tea is then put in an infuser and the glass pot of hot water brought to the table complete with a timer. We thought three minutes would probably do the trick and watched as his pot turned a golden yellow and mine a deep red. Two different flavours of tea infusing at the table. Image: Quinton Meijer Both teas were lovely, although the marzipan depth of his had me a little envious. There are little crystalised sugar sticks on the table so you can stir into your tea if you fancy. Although personally I think tea tastes better without sugar. We started with some savouries: a mini quiche Lorraine which was enjoyable although they might have been better served hot, and some lovely tandoori prawns on a skewer. There was their house cucumber sandwiches served in turmeric bread which were delicious. No cucumber sandwich had tasted this good. Another house speciality which is one of Mrs Tollman's recipes is the chicken mayonnaise sandwich coated in roasted almonds - what a delight the buttery almonds made on the sandwich. The little brie and caramelised onion vol aux vents were a treat while I never got to try the mini bagels with goats cheese and roasted tomatoes, or the mini burgers on bao buns. They look good though. A selection of savouries include quiche Lorraine, chicken mayo sandwiches and mini burgers Image: Quinton Meijer Delightful mini cakes and petit fores. Image: Quintin Meijer Next we hit the cheese board: the highlight being a perfectly ripe piece of grand brie, suitably oozy and pungent. In fact every time the Glass Man went back to the table, some of that brie just crept onto the plate. There was a lively mildly-aged gouda - usually such a tasteless cheese but this had lovely nutty flavours. There were two blues, camembert and some goat's milk cheese pressed into chilli and black sesame seeds, along with hummus, a lovely snoek pate and baba ganouj. The kitchen sent out a plate with an array of hot snacks - samosas both lamb, and cheese and corn and little chilli bites. Our wine waiter fills our glasses. And then there was all things sweet - a veritable array. Lovely little fingers of cheesecake topped with strawberries, a beautiful and very pretty heart shaped dark chocolate cake with a dark chocolate centre, tempting little blue berry tarts, and lovely little lemon meringues, and good caramel coated profiteroles. A selection of sweet delicacies Image: Quinton Meijer We looked at the table with four beautiful gatteaux sitting under domes uncut. There's a chocolate cake, a gluten free chocolate sachertorte, a carrot cake and a chiffon cake. The Glass Guy is a carrot cake nut so we decided to upend the display and cut a slice. It was lovely and spicy and generous with nuts and had a proper tart cream cheese icing. And despite the fact we'd taken the meanest slice possible, we still couldn't finish it all. And we never got to the scones served with an array of jams and creams and cheeses. And the little side sushi bar with prawn, crab stick and vege rolls. Next time It was five o'clock. Two and a half hours had flown in a delightful blur of tempting treats in a beautiful things. Food: 4 Service: 4 ½ Ambience: 4 ½ The Bill: R495 ahead. Hot savouries brought to the table Image: Quinton Meijer

Shannon Noll shows off jaw-dropping biceps in ripped selfie after Australian Idol 2003 runner-up's remarkable body transformation
Shannon Noll has shown off his jaw-dropping biceps and muscular frame after the 49-year-old underwent a dramatic body transformation. Noll famously finished runner-up during the 2003 Australian Idol grand final, while Guy Sebastian won the first season of the singing competition. The lanky What About Me? hitmaker, then aged 27, quickly gained notoriety as "Australia's favourite runner-up". His fans widely perceived Noll as having been "robbed" of the win as they believed his vocals and performances were more powerful and emotional. More than twenty years later, the Australian singer looks markedly different from the aspiring young hopeful who first took to the Australian Idol stage. Recent Instagram photos of Noll show he has ditched his trademark soul patch and gained considerable muscle. The 49-year-old's golden tan and bulging biceps could be seen in a video where he promoted his run of shows at the Murray River Music & Gold Festival in the New South Wales town of Barooga last month. Noll sported a black singlet that emphasised his chest muscles and a black cap, and his ripped physique caught the attention of fans. "Looking good, my friend. Cheers," said one person, while another praised his muscles with the comment: "Shoulders!!" An earlier selfie of the five-time ARIA award winner showed his tattooed arms in all their glory. Noll rolled up the top of his singlet to reveal his golden and tatted biceps, which he proudly flexed with a triumphant expression. "Getting a bit back after an awesome festive season! #trainhardlivehard," he wrote in the caption of the shot taken during a workout. His 80,000 Instagram followers commended the early 2000s star for his hard work. "You looking amazing Shannon great work," one person said. "Jacked. I love it, mate. Arm Wrestle?" another quipped. More star-struck fans affectionally called Noll "Swolesy" and "Shannon Swole" in a nod to his muscular frame. The Lift singer recently revealed he decided to embark on a physical transformation at the gym as he admitted he was "getting fat-skinny". "I've been back in the gym for a good eighteen months now," Noll told Nova 96.9's Fitzy & Wippa with Kate Ritchie in April 2024. "I started getting I'm naturally skinny anyway. I've got skinny legs. If I don't train and drink then you end up looking like E.T. "So I thought I have to get back in the gym again. I train really hard and try to watch what I eat when I'm training." Noll boosted his early Australian Idol fame into a successful recording and touring career that has produced six studio albums. He is the only Australian male artist with ten consecutive top-ten singles in Australian chart history, including chart-toppers What About Me, Learn To Fly, and Shine.
