‘Prison Break' to exit Netflix soon. Here is last date to watch hit show

Prison Break , known for its high stakes storylines and iconic characters, is once again preparing to make its exit from Netflix. The fan favorite drama, which first aired in 2005, made a surprise return to Netflix U.S. on July 29, 2024, reigniting interest in the story of Michael Scofield and his mission to free his wrongfully accused brother, Lincoln Burrows. This return, however, comes with an expiration date. Part of a non exclusive licensing deal between Disney and Netflix, all five seasons including the 2017 revival are currently streaming in the U.S., but only for a limited time. According to the latest schedule, Prison Break will be leaving Netflix once again on January 29, 2026, just 18 months after its return. With no new season on the horizon, now may be the last chance to binge the full series. When is Prison Break leaving Netflix? After being removed from international Netflix libraries in January 2022, Prison Break made a comeback to Netflix U.S. in July 2024. This was part of a broader content sharing arrangement between Disney and Netflix, involving legacy Fox titles like Lost and How I Met Your Mother. However, the agreement came with an expiration date. The entire series is scheduled to be removed from Netflix U.S. on January 29, 2026, exactly 18 months after its return. This limited time streaming window offers fans a chance to revisit the series before it disappears from the platform once again. Live Events Getty Images The hit series Prison Break will be removed from Netflix U.S. on January 29, 2026. Catch all 5 seasons including the 2017 revival before they disappear from the platform once again. What's included in the Netflix streaming window? Netflix U.S. currently features the complete series, including: All five seasons (2005–2009, plus the 2017 revival) 90+ episodes, following the complex story of Michael Scofield, Lincoln Burrows, and their attempts to outmaneuver law enforcement, prison systems, and political coverups. This full run mirrors what was previously available internationally before being pulled in early 2022. Why is Prison Break only available in the U.S.? The return of Prison Break to Netflix is limited to the United States due to regional licensing restrictions. Since Disney now owns 20th Television (which produced the show), the company has chosen to keep streaming rights for most regions under its own platforms Disney+ and Hulu. So, while American viewers get temporary access on Netflix, international fans will need to turn to Disney+ (or Star on Disney+, where applicable) to watch the series. Is Prison Break season 6 happening? Despite recurring fan buzz, there is no Season 6 featuring the original cast. The 2017 revival served as a final chapter. Both Wentworth Miller and Dominic Purcell confirmed they won't return. However, a reboot is in development at Hulu, set in the Prison Break universe with a new cast and storyline, written by Elgin James (Mayans M.C.). Why was Prison Break added back to Netflix? The 2024 return of Prison Break to Netflix reflects a broader shift in Disney's strategy. To drive viewership and maximize revenue, Disney temporarily licensed several older, high performing shows like Prison Break, Lost, and This Is Us to Netflix U.S., even while keeping them available on Hulu and Disney+. This non-exclusive deal helps boost platform visibility without removing content from Disney's in house services. FAQs Q1. When is Prison Break leaving Netflix U.S.? A1. Dominic Purcell does not look like this anymore! Prison Break star looks unrecognisable as he shares major series reboot news

An unrecognisable Dominic Purcell has given fans an update on the future of Prison Break. The Australian-born actor, 55, gained a cult following starring as Lincoln Burrows in the long-running Fox crime drama. The show ended in 2017 after five seasons and a standalone film, but whispers of a sixth season have kept fans on edge. Dominic took to Instagram this week, looking markedly different from his Prison Break days. The actor was sporting a neatly trimmed salt-and-pepper beard, while his trademark buzzcut had also been swapped for a neatly cropped style. From A-list scandals and red carpet mishaps to exclusive pictures and viral moments, subscribe to the DailyMail's new showbiz newsletter to stay in the loop. Wearing a white tank top for the in-car selfie, Dominic's chiselled and heavily inked arms were on full display. Captioning the image, Dominic revealed that fans could stop holding their breath, as a new Prison Break series was 'not happening'. 'I mean, I get it, it was a sick show, but I've really moved on. It's not happening,' Dominic said. Continuing, Dominic said that he was not interested in the past, adding: 'The excitement of the possibilities for me are far greater than the past. I've done, it ladies and gents. 'I'm doing what I wanna do, not what people think I should do, nor what I can do with my eyes closed. That's a boring way [of] moving forward professionally and in life, I believe. Uncertainty is far more appealing.' The post was met with a flurry of comments from fans, with many agreeing with the star that it was time for everyone to 'move on'. 'Some fans can't let go of the show after it's been over after Season 5. Dominic is great in his other roles he has done in movies and TV,' one follower offered. Another offered: 'Damn, can y'all leave him alone? Y'all been hounding with prison break for decades now. Let them live in peace!!!' A third summed up the sentiment of many, commenting: 'True fans should know/understand to move on… just rewatch the entire series for the 10th time like me and call it a day.' After Prison Break ended, Fox confirmed that the cult-hit would return for a sixth season in January, 2018. However, a year later they announced they had no plans to revive the hit series. In 2020, Wentworth Miller also admitted that he was done with the series. 'I'm out. Of PB. Officially,' he wrote on Instagram. 'Not [because] of static on social media. I just don't want to play straight characters. Their stories have been told (and told).' 'If you're hot and bothered [because] you fell in love with a fictional straight man played by a real gay one… That's your work.' Since saying goodbye to Lincoln Burrows in 2017, Dominic has racked up quite a few credits, including starring as Mick Rory/Heatwave across numerous DC Universe shows such as Arrow, Batwoman, and DC's Legends Of Tomorrow. He is also set to rejoin his Prison Break co-star, Wentworth Miller, in the upcoming Universal drama Snatchback. Dominic tied the knot with Tish Cyrus back in 2023, in a romantic ceremony following her divorce from her husband of 28 years, Billy Ray.

Beloved 'Prison Break' Star Appears Totally Unrecognizable: 'Looks Like a Different Man'

After stumbling upon Dominic Purcell's Instagram feed, Prison Break fans surely found themselves doing a double-take. Recognized for his clean-shaven look, the British-Australian actor known for bringing to life Lincoln Burrows, looked totally unrecognizable in a style switch-up, sporting a bushy white beard. 🎬 SIGN UP for Parade's Daily newsletter to get the latest pop culture news & celebrity interviews delivered right to your inbox 🎬 "He looks like a different man," one commented of the 55-year-old actor, before adding, "Still 🔥." "You look good really suits you," one complimented, as another noted that he resembled a jolly fictional character, stating, "OMG! Santa Claus is in the house 🎅 😂." Someone else doubled down, "For a second I didn't recognize you," with another comment reading, "Looking like a true Oklahoma ex-convict. Meant in the most complimentary way possible! You grow a mean beard, friend." There were also a handful of comments praising the series, as Purcell donned a "My Brother's Keeper" shirt, which paid tribute to the title of Season 1 Episode 16 that featured flashbacks of how the inmates arrived at Fox River Penitentiary. The transformation appears to be more recent, as the actor still appeared clean-shaven for his wedding to Trish Cyrus in 2023. However, recent posts on Instagram show him embracing the new look while seemingly living in Tennessee, surfing and boxing to stay in shape. And while there's no word on any Prison Break reboots as of late, he has two projects—Snatchback and Pendelum—in the works.
