Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw shares update on Bullet Train Project, says 300 km viaduct completed
Railways Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw shared an update on the country's ambitious Bullet Train Project on Tuesday, announcing the completion of 300 kilometres of viaduct. Each base slab casting required 3,000 to 4,000 cubic metres of concrete at controlled temperatures, which is being produced by in-situ batching plants and chiller plants. The platform is planned at a depth of about 26 metres below ground level. There will be three floors including platform, concourse and service floor. Excavation for the said work is being done till a depth of 32 metres (approx. 100 ft) from the ground level, which is equivalent to a 10-storey building. The station will have six platforms, each approximately 415 m long (sufficient to accommodate a 16-coach bullet train). It will be connected to the metro and the road. Two entry/exit points are planned, one to facilitate access to the nearby Metro station of Metro Line 2B, and the other towards the MTNL building. The station has been planned in a way that ample space is available for passenger movement and amenities at the concourse and platform level. A dedicated skylight provision has been made for natural lighting.

CM reviews crucial infra projects in ‘war room' meet
Mumbai: CM Devendra Fadnavis directed the use of modern technology to conduct an accurate survey of projects like Dharavi. He held a review on Monday of 15 new infrastructure projects, along with resolving 31 problems of 18 other projects that were discussed at a previous meeting where 71 problems were identified. New projects from Mumbai, Vidarbha, Marathwada, and Western Maharashtra were reviewed, including Mumbai Metro Line 2B (DN Nagar to Mandala), Metro Line 4 (Wadala to Kasarwadavali), Metro Line 5 (Thane-Bhiwandi-Kalyan), Orange Gate to Marine Drive Tunnel Project, and Borivali to Thane Link Tunnel Project, among others. Fadnavis directed land acquisition process be expedited and that forest and environmental permissions be obtained, besides preparing a zonal master plan for ecologically sensitive zones. He directed that decisions regarding forest land affecting the Vadhavan Port project be taken at the earliest. tnn
