Pune Police Station Defaced, Cops Pepper-Sprayed By Arrested Man: ‘Will Enter Your Homes, Kill You'
Raju alias Barkya Londhe was brought to the police station at around 1 am when he started ranting and broke the windows of the station. A man accused in multiple cases created a ruckus at Pune's Sahkar Nagar police station when he pepper-sprayed police personnel. Four to five policemen have been injured in the incident. Nabbed in connection with a molestation case on July 18, Raju alias Barkya Londhe, vandalised the station. He was earlier arrested under the Maharashtra Control of Organised Crime Act (MCOCA), which is mainly meant for the control and prevention of criminal activity by organised gangs or syndicates. Londhe was out on bail in the MCOCA case when he reportedly molested a woman. After the woman lodged a First Information Report (FIR) at the Sahkar Nagar police station, a search was launched to find him. As per reports, Barkya Londhe was brought to the police station at around 1 am. He started ranting and broke the windows of the station. He injured himself and threatened to kill the policemen as well. The accused continued to rant for around one to one and a half hours. He also pepper-sprayed some of the cops, leaving them with breathing problems. Londhe has now been taken to a hospital for a medical examination. Senior Police Inspector at Sahkar Nagar police station, Rahul Gaud told Indian Express, 'The accused injured himself and pepper-sprayed the police. He has been taken to a hospital for a medical examination. We are lodging a fresh offence against him on charges of causing disturbance in government duty. Further investigation is on." The incident comes just days after Sahkar Nagar police station was in the news for allegedly refusing to register complaints. As per a report in the Lokmat Times, a brawl broke out between some wrestlers and youths near Tajali Maidan on July 15. The wrestlers had reportedly beaten up the youth and also molested some women present at the location. The youth were preparing for a police recruitment exam when the incident occurred. A video of the incident later went viral on social media, as per the outlet. A sit-in protest was organised in front of the Sahkar Nagar police station due to allegations that the police was refusing to lodge complaints against the wrestlers. The incident which took place on Tuesday near Shriyad Hospital and has sparked outrage after a video of the dog struggling inside the car went viral on social media. The couple, who had travelled to Vrindavan for darshan, left their dog inside the vehicle with the windows only slightly open. Despite a security guard advising them to take the dog along, they said the animal was sleeping and would be fine. A widely shared video of the incident shows a crowd gathered around the car, trying to rescue the dog. The pet is seen trapped under the driver's seat, unable to move, desperately gasping for air with its tongue hanging out. Although some urged breaking the window, a mechanic was called instead. By the time the door was finally opened—after nearly 45 minutes—the dog had already died from suffocation. Locals poured water on the pet and rushed it by rickshaw to a veterinary hospital, but it was declared dead on arrival. The couple returned from the temple to find a crowd gathered near their car. Upon learning their pet had died, they broke down in tears. The death has led to widespread condemnation, with animal rights groups and citizens calling for stricter laws and penalties against such neglect. Rupali Ganguly's set Anupamaa catches fire early morning on June 23. In an unfortunate turn of events, a major fire has reportedly erupted on Anupamaa's set, located in Goregaon Film City, on Monday at 5 AM. The show has undoubtedly been one of the most successful daily soaps on Indian Television. This tragic news has been making headlines as the fire has reportedly completely destroyed the set in just 2 hours. According to Lokmat Times report, the major fire caused panic among the crew members and workers, who were present on the sets, preparing for the shoot. After the fire was reported to the Mumbai Fire Brigade at 6:10 AM, they rushed to the sets for the rescue. Anupamaa's set is located behind the Marathi Bigg Boss set near Hathi Gate in Film City. The Mumbai Fire Brigade declared it a Level-I fire, reportedly. The report says that five fire engines, four jumbo tankers, one Additional Divisional Fire Officer and three station officers rushed to Anupamaa sets to bring the fire under control. According to officials, no injuries have been reported so far, and the people present on set were evacuated immediately. The reason for the fire is being investigated. Pilot Refuses To Fly, Leaves Eknath Shinde Stuck At Jalgaon Airport For 45 Minutes
Last Updated: The Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister's departure from Jalgaon was delayed after the pilot cited exhaustion and duty hour restrictions Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde's return to Mumbai from Jalgaon was delayed twice on Friday — first, due to technical issues before arrival, and later after the pilot of his aircraft refused to take off, citing duty hour limitations and ill health. According to NDTV, Shinde was scheduled to arrive at Jalgaon at 3.45 pm but reached nearly two-and-a-half hours late due to technical reasons. After landing, he travelled to Muktainagar by road, where he participated in the Palkhi Yatra (religious procession) of Sant Muktai, accompanied by ministers Girish Mahajan, Gulabrao Patil, and several administration officials. After completing the visit and returning to Jalgaon airport at around 9.15 pm, a second delay occurred. The pilot of Shinde's personal aircraft refused to fly, stating that his duty hours had ended and that fresh clearance would be needed to operate the flight. The pilot also cited ill health as an additional reason for refusing to take off, according to NDTV. As per News18 Marathi, the pilot had already been flying for 12 consecutive hours and was not in a position to continue, both due to his condition and technical regulations. In an attempt to resolve the situation, Mahajan, Patil, and other officials held discussions with the pilot for about 45 minutes. Mahajan also contacted airline officials for the required permissions. According to Lokmat Times, a doctor was also called to examine the pilot's condition. After the medical assessment and necessary approvals, the pilot eventually agreed to operate the flight and the aircraft departed for Mumbai. Speaking to reporters, Girish Mahajan said, 'The pilot had a health-related concern and an issue with the timing. There were some technical difficulties too. We spoke to the airline company, and they explained the situation to the pilot in their own way. It was a minor issue." During the return flight, the Deputy Chief Minister's team assisted a woman who urgently needed to travel to Mumbai for a kidney surgery. According to NDTV, the woman, Sheetal Patil, and her husband had missed their scheduled flight. Upon learning about their situation, Mahajan arranged for the couple to board Shinde's aircraft. Ambulance services were kept ready at Mumbai airport to immediately transfer the woman for surgery. Gulabrao Patil said, 'Eknath Shinde has not forgotten his days of struggle even today. He has shown sensitivity towards the common man."
