Former Sixers forward Lonnie Walker IV signs deal with Maccabi Tel Aviv
The Philadelphia 76ers brought Lonnie Walker IV back over to the NBA at the trade deadline after he had began the season overseas. A former first-round pick of the San Antonio Spurs back in 2018, Walker spent six seasons in the league before going overseas, and the Sixers brought him back on a deal. In 20 games for Philadelphia, with seven starts, Walker averaged 12.4 points, 3.2 rebounds, and 2.5 assists while shooting 42% from the floor and 35.4% from deep. He knocked down eight triples in the season finale loss to the Chicago Bulls which was one 3-pointer shy of tying the franchise record for most 3s in a game with nine held by Tyrese Maxey, Danny Green, and Dana Barros. The Sixers declined Walker's team option making him a free agent. Now, the 7-year forward will once again head overseas as he will reportedly sign a deal with Maccabi Tel Aviv in the EuroLeague. Walker will now look for his next opportunity in the NBA as he will look to eventually work his way back. For now, he will continue his basketball career internationally.

Kelly Oubre Jr. picking up player option to return to Philadelphia 76ers, report says
Philadelphia 76ers forward Kelly Oubre Jr. is picking up his $8.4 million player option for the 2025-26 season, according to a report from ESPN on Sunday. Oubre signed the two-year, $16.3 million deal with the Sixers before the 2024-25 season. The 2025-26 season will be Oubre's third year in Philadelphia after he joined the team in the 2023-24 season on a one-year contract. Last season, Oubre averaged 15.1 points, 6.1 rebounds and shot 47% from the field. He started 57 of the 60 games he played in and missed the final month of the season with a right knee injury. David Berding / Getty Images Sixers decline Lonnie Walker IV's team option; Eric Gordon declines player option The Sixers declined Lonnie Walker IV's team option on Sunday worth $2.9 million for next season, according to ESPN. Walker, a Reading, Pennsylvania, native, will now become a free agent. Walker averaged 12.4 points last season for the Sixers in 20 games, including seven starts. Veteran guard Eric Gordon declined his $3.4 million player option for the 2025-26 season, ESPN reports. The 36-year-old will now become a free agent, but ESPN reports a deal to return to the Sixers is still possible. Gordon played in 39 games last season and averaged 6.8 points and shot 40.9% on 3-pointers. When does NBA free agency start, and what will the Sixers do? After a busy offseason in 2024 that landed the team Paul George, the Sixers will likely be much quieter this free agency period. The team will look to bring back guard Quentin Grimes, who became a restricted free agent after Philadelphia tendered an $8.7 million qualifying offer, according to multiple reports, including The Athletic. Both sides are reportedly continuing to discuss a new deal. They'll also look to bring back forward Guerschon Yabusele, but he's an unrestricted free agent and expected to have interest from other teams. NBA teams can start negotiating with upcoming free agents on Monday at 6 p.m. They can start officially signing free agents next Sunday, July 6, at 12:01 p.m.

Sixers guard Lonnie Walker IV discusses his plans for the offseason
Sixers guard Lonnie Walker IV discusses his plans for the offseason PHILADELPHIA -- Around the All-Star break, the Philadelphia 76ers brought Lonnie Walker IV back to the NBA after beginning the 2024-25 season in Lithuania. After spending six seasons in the league, Walker signed overseas and continued his basketball career over there. The Sixers then brought him back over in February and he played 20 games for Philadelphia with seven starts. He averaged 12.4 points, 3.2 rebounds, and 2.5 assists while shooting 42% from the floor and 35.4% from deep. As he now heads into the offseason, the Reading, PA native will have to prepare for another uneasy offseason. He has a team option for the 2025-26 season so it remains to be seen if the Sixers will pick that up. He also just needs to continue developing his game so he can stick in the league. "Just consistency and discipline," he said after the season ended on April 13. "Like I said, being this close to home, it has its pros and its cons. You have to find a way to balance it all. I think a lot of people will tell you, I mean, even last night, I was in the gym still working like we have more games. So I've just been very consistent in the gym." Walker is a gym rat. The 7-year guard out of Miami (FL) will be looking to continue growing his game and add to his overall growth as a player. The Sixers are looking to keep growing their young talent so bringing Walker back will be a helpful move for them as time moves on. Either way, if one is looking for him this offseason, Walker will likely be in the gym. "If we have days off, I'm coming at night," he explained. "If we have practice that morning, I'm still coming back at night time, and things of that nature. Just trying to just let my work ethic speak for what I do on the court and allow everything else to play itself out. I think that's something that keeps me a lot of confidence is I know a lot of people don't really work as hard and put in the sacrifice as much as I do."

Final 2025 Philadelphia 76ers player grades: Lonnie Walker IV
The 2024-25 season is in the books for the Philadelphia 76ers, which means it is the time to look back on the season that was for each player. The Sixers finished 24-58 as they missed the playoffs for the first time since the 2016-17 season amid a slew of injuries. The Sixers used a grand total of 30 players throughout the season and an NBA record 53 starting lineups. This series will focus on the 15 players on standard deals and the three on two-way deals to finish the season--not anybody who finished the season on a 10-day deal. Up next in this series is Lonnie Walker IV who the Sixers brought back to the league from overseas at the All-Star break back in February. After a slow start getting used to being back in the states, Walker put up good numbers in the 20 games he played and it will be interesting to see how his offseason is handled. Here is an overview of Walker's season: Walker's 2024-25 Sixers numbers Category PPG RPG APG FG% 3FG% Walker's final stats 12.4 3.2 2.5 42% 35.4% Walker's season Walker started seven games for the Sixers and after a slow start, he picked it up. It took him a bit as he had to get his legs back underneath of him, but he ended up scoring 20-plus points five times including scoring 31 while knocking down eight triples in the season finale against the Chicago Bulls. He was also very good as a passer collective 5-plus assists four times including seven assists against the Toronto Raptors on March 30. Walker highlights As mentioned above, the best game Walker had came in the season finale. The eight 3s he made were one shy of tying the record for most 3s made by a Sixers player in a single game. Final grade Overall, Walker gave the Sixers a player who can create his own offense as well as make plays for others. With Philadelphia ailing a majority of the season, it needed a player like Walker to step up and produce and he did so at a productive level. He has a team option for the 2025-26 season so one has to believe the Sixers will exercise it. Final grade: B-plus
