Georgia football gets another 4-star DL commitment
The Georgia Bulldogs received another commitment along the defensive line. Georgia's latest commitment is local four-star defensive line recruit Anthony Lonon. Lonon committed to Georgia over the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets.
"Ya'll got a pure bred coming to Georgia, from Athens, Georgia, and raised by Dawgs," Lonon speaking about his background of his family.
He recently developed into a coveted recruit that defensive line coach Tray Scott and outside linebackers coach Chidera Uzo-Diribe prioritized. Lonon was an unranked recruit back in June, but that changed after Georgia offered the elite defensive lineman back on June 3.
"It always been trust the process for me. I didn't have any stars until the middle of June now I'm a four-star," Lonon said about his rise to being a heavily-recruited player.
Lonon can play anything from a nine-tech to a three-tech because of his size and speed along the defensive line. He is the latest addition to Georgia's class of 2026, but arguably the most versatile amongthe defensive linemen. His quick twitch ability to get in the backfield is his top skill. Right now, Lonon is another piece to the puzzle for Georgia's 2026 defensive line group, which already features commitments from Valdin Sone, Pierre Dean, Preston Carey, Corey Howard, Carter Luckie and Seven Cloud.
Lonon plays high school football for Clarke Central High School in Athens, Georgia. In 2024 as a junior, he totaled 51 tackles, eight sacks and 15 tackles for a loss. He helped lead Clarke Central to a 8-2 record. The 6-foot-2, 260-pound defender is ranked as the No. 293 recruit in the 2026 recruiting cycle. Lonon is the No. 38 defensive line recruit in the country and the No. 35 prospect in Georgia.
Georgia holds on to their No. 1 recruiting ranking and Lonon makes him the 31st recruit to commit to play in between the hedges.
