At least 4 injured after storm causes damage in Loudon County

LOUDON COUNTY, Tenn. (WATE) — Deputies with the Loudon County Sheriff's Office and other agencies are responding to reports of structure damage following storm damage in the Philadelphia Friday morning. At least four people have been injured. The sheriff's office told 6 News deputies and dozens of other first responders were responding because of structure damage that involved multiple injuries in the 3200 block of Holt Road. Inspector finds off temperatures, no sanitizer at Chinese restaurant in Morristown Tennessee Highway Patrol shared that four people have been taken from the Sweetwater area to an area hospital for evaluation. The agency added that drivers should avoid the area and use alternate routes. The sheriff's office said the storm damage included downed power lines, trees and debris. Those in the area are reminded to assume downed power lines are live and stay clear of them, avoid fallen trees, storm debris and unstable structures, and not to enter damaged buildings until they are cleared by authorities. Hazards in the area should be reported to 911 immediately. A National Weather Service survey team is expected to arrive at the area of Holt Road and Sweetwater around 11:30 a.m. Man charged after brother fatally stabbed, dog drowned in Sevier County Just before 9 a.m., the sheriff's office posted on social media saying it was monitoring reports of a 'possible tornado touchdown' in the area of Philadelphia. LOUDON COUNTY, Tenn. (WATE) — The Loudon County Sheriff's Office is searching for two teenagers who they believe may have jumped into the Tennessee River from the I-75 bridge near Lake Drive after a police pursuit in a stolen vehicle early Wednesday morning. According to the sheriff's office, around 4 a.m. Wednesday, officers with the Sweetwater Police Department and the Tennessee Highway Patrol were involved in the pursuit of a stolen vehicle. Although the chase was called off, the vehicle was later found abandoned near the Tennessee River Bridge on I-75 North, near mile marker 74, and the suspects fled before officers arrived. White Pine man charged with attempted murder after crash An extensive search of the area, involving K-9 units and drones, was done, but officers later cleared the area. Around 7:30 a.m., multiple 911 callers reported that there had been vehicle break ins in the Lake Drive Area. When a deputy arrived in the area, they were flagged down by residents who reported seeing a teen on a neighbor's porch. The deputy detained the teen, who told deputies as he was being questioned that he and two other teens had jumped into the water from the Tennessee River bridge. LENOIR CITY, Tenn. (WATE) — A semitruck fire was extinguished on I-40 East near the Highway 321 exit early on Thursday, the Loudon County Sheriff's Office posted. LCSO posted about the fire at 2:38 a.m. saying that they, the Tennessee Highway Patrol, Priority Emergency Medical Services and Loudon County Fire / Rescue were on the scene. The fire temporarily shut down I-40 east around mile marker 364.4. 'Closure': Graveside service held for two children killed by adopted parents Around 3 a.m., LCSO announced that the fire had been extinguished, and one lane of I-40 was reopened. LOUDON COUNTY, Tenn. (WATE) — The Loudon County Sheriff's Office is asking the public for help locating a man who was last seen in late January. According to the sheriff's office, Guy DeMasellis, 51, was last seen at the Lazy Acres RV Park in Lenoir City, where he was staying. He was last heard from in early February. Eleven arrested in Jefferson County sobriety checkpoints DeMasellis is described as 6'3″ tall and weighing 220 pounds. While there is no evidence of a crime, the sheriff's office said it was reported that DeMasellis was often picked up and dropped off by someone driving a black Kia Soul, possibly a 2019 year model. Investigators are hoping to speak with the driver of a Kia Soul to learn more information. ASHBURN, Va. () — A Georgia man remains in custody after he was accused of trying to . The Loudon County Sheriff's Office said Shane Bergeron, 34, of Jefferon, Ga., grabbed the three-year-old girl while she stood inside the Senor Tequilla's restaurant with her mother at around 7:30 p.m. 'That's crazy,' Clint Echols, who works up the street, said. 'I mean, I see it on YouTube, but you never see it in your area necessarily. So that's a scary thought that that's coming out here.' Family remembers 10-year-old who died from flu in Prince George's County The mother, according to investigators, followed Bergeron outside, where she managed to get her daughter back. The girl was not hurt. 'I'm shocked,' Valeria Aizcorbe said. ' I'm pregnant. I was talking with my husband about the incident, when, you know, with the baby can like run here in the park.'
