Chicken Salad Chick expands in Colorado Springs with new Briargate location
(COLORADO SPRINGS) — Chicken Salad Chick is continuing to grow in Colorado Springs with the recent opening of its second location in Briargate, on the north side of town. Co-franchise owner Kirsten Garrett and manager Jeremy Nickels joined Loving Living Local to share the newest restaurant's success, menu favorites, and what's next for the brand locally. Founded in Alabama, Chicken Salad Chick is the only fast-casual chain in the country focused entirely on chicken salad. The menu features over a dozen fresh, made-from-scratch chicken salad flavors, along with sides, soups, sandwiches, and desserts. Garrett and her mother, Judy DeVincentis, first brought Chicken Salad Chick to Colorado Springs in June 2023. After seeing strong support from the community, they opened their newest spot near the Promenade Shops at Briargate on April 23. To celebrate the grand opening, the Briargate location gave the first 100 guests a chance to win free chicken salad for a year and handed out swag all week long. Garrett says the brand is excited to continue expanding and sharing its Southern-inspired hospitality with the community. The Briargate location offers dine-in, patio seating, take-out, delivery, and catering, and is open Monday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m For more, visit Copyright 2025 Nexstar Media, Inc. 2024 Give Campaign wrap-up: $831,000 awarded to local nonprofits
(PIKES PEAK REGION, Colo.) — The 2024 Give Campaign has officially wrapped up, marking an exciting year of generosity and impact. On Jan. 3, the campaign concluded with a Check Celebration, where $831,000 was awarded to 64 nonprofit organizations making a difference in our community. Victoria Norton, Executive Director for Give! Pikes Peak shared on FOX21's Loving Living Local how these funds will benefit local organizations. The Give Campaign allows nonprofits to earn extra funds through partnerships and challenges from donors. This year's competitions, sponsored by groups like the Tiemens Foundation, Bristol Brewery Growlers, and Social Media Innovators, were very successful. These events encouraged friendly competition and helped raise significant funds for the participating nonprofits. Victoria said, 'This year, we saw an impressive increase in young donors, with 14% of donors now under the age of 35, up from just 9% last year. To support this growth, we launched the Family Give Guide, helping parents engage their children in meaningful conversations about the importance of giving back.' The Give 2025 Campaign is approaching, with applications opening this spring. Interested organizations can subscribe to the newsletter for important updates at Copyright 2025 Nexstar Media, Inc.
